I specifically stated that all discussion about the hiatus should be posted within the announcement thread. I would appreciate it if you respected my request next time. :/

First of all, I would like to state that the hiatus was my idea, and any anger/complaints should not be directed at me, and not Mitsu or any other member of the TTR moderator team.

That being said, I know there are members who are unhappy with the way this RP has grown, specifically rule-wise. As Mike stated earlier, many of these new rules were added mainly because we have grown from a small RP game with a few dedicated players to approximately 30+, and that in itself was a need for more order and regulation. Since the TTR was no longer a close-knit place where we knew we could trust each other to not overstep our boundaries, more of these boundaries had to be enforced, otherwise newcomers would have teams of the rarest Pokemon possible before their starters hit level 15, or the rarest items, or simply that they were undefeatable and unstoppable, even at such meager levels. That's hardly fair to those of us who have been working hard with our characters for over a year now, isn't it?

I know a lot of people are upset with how hard it has become to earn experience, and all I really have to say on the matter is this: Tough. Ever since day one, I have believed the level-up system to be too easy, and even now I think it could be far stricter. At one point I'd toyed with the idea of only awarding experience to Pokemon during battle or good RP conditions (sorry, but simply having your Pokemon out of its Pokeball and following you around and acting all cute-like just wouldn't cut it), but I decided against it, mainly because I love the idea of rewarding players who were vigilant in their efforts to post several times each day, be it a battle or not, and especially those who were always striving to make each and every post outstanding, descriptive and well-written.

Going back to the subject of the experience system itself, when I changed it, I knew that nobody would like it, and in fact, I had expected to receive nasty PMs telling me all about it and why I was a horrible moderator for implementing such a drastic change in the clockworks of our already well-oiled machinery. But whatever happened to working for what you want, and that feeling of satisfaction after reaching these achievements? It's always seemed to me that a lot of people wanted to take the easy way out - a few threadbare posts here and there, and bam! An unstoppable powerhouse team of level 50 Pokemon! I myself have always believed that nothing pays of more than hard work and dedication, and I wanted that fact to hold true to the TTR as well. I wanted members to be filled with a good feeling every time there was a level update and see just how their efforts have paid off. And to those of you who think you are deserving of a level after every five or six posts (and ones that are in no relation to battling, or even mentioning the Pokemon in question to boot), I got news for you. It doesn't work that way in this RP, and if you think otherwise, then the TTR isn't for you, and perhaps you should head off to the Chatterbox or the Barton Town RP forum and find a role-play that is a little more suited for your role-playing ideals, since something with so many rules is too restricting and obstructive.

By now, I'm sure many of you are intuitive enough to realize that I'm not exactly happy as I write out these words. Well, you're right, because I am in fact, not very happy at all. For one thing, I don't think that many people appreciate or even know just how much work goes on behind the scenes of the TTR. Level updating, adding new member profiles, making sure everything is running smoothly as well as knowing what all members are doing in the RP at all times are just a few of the things that need to be done, and are always needing to be done around here. I couldn't even begin to tell you just how long it takes to go through each and every post, allocate experience, and then make sure all the profiles are updated, as well as how long it took to make sure the rules we do have are clear, understandable to our younger members (and with good spelling and grammar at that), but I do know that every minute that I've spent working on the TTR was not wasted in my eyes, nor do I regret any of the changes I've made to the system. I do love this role-play more than I ever thought I could, and I know we have a good thing here. In order to have the safe community, the welcoming home we have here within Gaia, we need to have these rules and regulations, and I'm sorry to those of you who disagree, but they are needed, and there is no doubt about it in my mind whatsoever. If you feel the need to leave, be it for a lack of ideas or because of the way we work (and you will be missed if you leave us, and this is directed to Willow and Melph, and any others who are thinking of vanishing, even if the hiatus wasn't to happen), then that is your choice, and I will respect it.

I think I've said everything I wanted to, although I'm sure I've probably forgotten something. Thanks to anyone who actually bothered to read this, and those of you who've been more than outstanding since the TTR was started.

I suppose I'll just put my thoughts on the subject in the Hiatus Thread. Now to compile the list of ideas that I have. Maybe we should quote the posts here into that thread though?

A;right, now for my two cents. First, I'd like to put it out there and say that she is right, I agree and support what you are trying to say Anya and respect it to the fullest.

Second, I don't think that peoples complaints are quite as bad as you make them out to be. Sure, there is a feeling of satisfaction when you complete something, but there is a point at which you will not feel good even if you do get the goal accomplished, but rather you'll feel pissed that it took you so long to do what you've done. If I started digging a hole from one side of a boulder (and this is one mother of a boulder) I would feel good getting to the other side in about three days. But if it took me a two weeks, maybe even one week, to get to the other side of the boulder, I would simply be angry as hell. Maybe that's just me.

Third, I respect the work you go through with exp. and maintanance(sp), I know exactly what you mean. And I'm not some bum who says he knows when he doesn't know crap, not to long ago my friends and I ran a DB/Z/GT guild, and let me tell you I know what hell is like now. We had over 50 dedicated members, twice as many non dedicated members, and countless posts we had to review. Tons of rules, more than this place has (guess thats why I don't find these rules tough to follow) and multiple "worlds" and rules for each world as well as exp awarding for each "world". It was an absolute nightmare, but I loved every moment of it because I knew I as doing something that was awesome and that others loved just as much as I did. I guess my point is, I feel for you, and I agree. Those are my two cents, they weren't even needed or important, or even relevant. But for some reason, saying this has made me feel better. Good day everyone. I'm off to look for an abandoned kitten to bring into my home because I'm so God damned lonely.

Though this has nothing to do with the RP just thought I'd post it. We had our Track regionals this weekend and my team got First Place! Thus being made, we are going to the Team State meet.

I ran a 4:31:55 in the Mile and got 4th Place. If I run a 4:31:2 I could have gone to state in that event. Well that certainly ticked me off but I still had to run the 2 Mile. There I ran a 10:07 but I got second place so I get to go to individual State for the two mile. So that is my little bragging streak. Enjoy the rarity.
