So lets say the kind of character I want to make,
Is mainly focused on the Katana weapon, and tends to rely more on his mind than his strength...
Is there any way I could compensate for his lower physical abilites so that he woulden't be completely useless in combat?

ah yes, to come back on shizzy's comment, my vision on stats:
strength: use when you're making a Taijutsu or melee fight user, for other stats it isn't very usefull
constitution: good for when you have a character with a low dodge, but this becomes unneccecary when you have an high enough dodge bonus, it isn't used for any skill except concentration
dexterity: usefull for dodging, people with this stat can also move silent, stay undetected and avoid contact, so it's a stat that's quite usefull
intelligence: this racks up your skill points a lot, if you aren't the balancing type but someone who focuses on a few select stats, use this one to enhance the skills wich are governed by stats that are low, also governs a lot of handy skills like craft, disable device, knowledge, and more
chakra: usefull for casting many jutsus, if you have a very high Cp you don't have to worry about thing like "i could run out of Chaka soon"
wisdom: enhances your dexterity and resistance against genjutsu (will save), also governs stats like treat injury and the like
charisma: really usefull stat where a lot of people ditch it, it governs diplomacy, bluff, seduction, all these stats are very usefull when on mission with NPC's, don't want to fight a long battle? seduce the opponent and stick your blade in his neck when he doesn't expect it. does the barkeeper has the urge to kill you? use diplomacy to save your a**

Mainly because my characters aren't level 1. >__< Myobi has around 50 xp and Sumire only has around 20 xp. So they won't really stand a chance of getting there any time soon. ^^
Also! How many balance beams are there in the Academy? @__@ Cuz I wanted to start training but I wasn't sure how many there were.

Just say there are TEN! Woo! Go for it!
You can get 50 experience! The academy jutsus are worth 10 experience right? And then you can do the shuriken thing again to get more!

Indeed it is. Part of his backstory is that his family are descendants of Samurai, so of course he has deeper focus on weapon use. I'm thinking I'm going to have awesome Wisdom, Int, and Cha scores. With a decent Dex if possible. I can compensate for the low Str with high ranks in "Ninja Weapon (Katana)."
