Hello to all; this is Willow. I'm communicating to the lot of you via satellite, as I've currently locked myself in a secret, undisclosed location somewhere off in my home state. Ahem. I thought it best to inform everyone that I shan't be returning to the forum until after graduation, which is one month from two days ago. I'm hoping that with summer approaching, I'll develop ideas for Nina to enact in the RP, as the fountain that I draw my ideas from has long since run dry. Should I not be better able to roleplay at that time, I've made a decision.
Nina will be removed. She's known solely as the harbinger of death, doom, and destruction, and without her, the roleplay would be a much safer place. Her import has long since been expunged, rendering her as nothing more than an obsolete character who, quite frankly, no one can stand to be around. If this is the outcome, I myself shall leave as well. The characters I've created are solely filler characters, and with the abundance of applications that I'm expecting to arrive this summer, my place would easily be filled.
That is all.

gonk Not Willow too! It must be the Thought Police! They're after us and our creativity. The Thought Police are doubleplusungood... It must be all my fault since I'm reading 1984, I got them onto us.
*huddles in a dark corner drawing on the ground*

NOOO! Quick, everyone stop thinking so that the police mind sweep won't pick up on our incredible creative thinking. It's as bright as the sun on their scans the way we are now, start thinking along the squirrel level. *runs to gather nuts and other assorted seeds*

I am afraid to say that I too might be joining Willow in a request to leave the rp. However it is different reasons for me, instead of not having any ideas (I have many of those). The reason I might be leaving is because of the rules, quite simply I agree with Mitsu. There are too many rules and to much power in the mod's hands. The very reason I used to love this rp is now gone. I loved the fact that I could do basically anything, I could catch pretty much anything and the story was so open and it was fairly easy to level up. I don’t care what you say it should NOT take 11 posts for one level. Basically I miss the openness that was there before. Now I need to ask for everything I do, everything has to be approved and it just isn’t as fun anymore.
As most of you know who speak to me outside of the rp you will know that this isn't the first time I have complained about the rules. I also don’t like the fact that rules are being added or things are being changed without consulting the other rper's. The main rulers of this rp may have been here longer then me but that does not mean that we don’t get a voice in the changes.
Oh well, I may or may not be back, I am still thinking about it because despite all that I have just said I still love this rp. Anyway this is basically me saying that like Willow I will probably not be posting for a long time if ever again in the rp setting. I will still stay in the guild and help others out and such, just maybe not here.

As a co-owner of the guild, and one responsible for some of the rules you seem to disagree with so much, I have a small statement to make in defense of myself and Aire (I will not include Mitsu only because this seems to have started after she took her small break, so it doesn't seem like you're complaining to her.):
For those of us in the moderation chairs, it was nearly impossible to manage all the profiles we had without a set batch of rules. New people were joining faster than we could keep up with, and the leveling system was such a chore that those responsible for counting were nearly unable to even update at all. The rule system we have in place is not only a minor set of boundaries but it also helps us, the team in charge, manage all those who play.
In response to Willow's statement about Nina being unloved by everyone. It's true that you had done some things with your character that I didn't agree on, but whether I approved or not, your posts were and continue to be some of the best on this roleplay, and I enjoyed reading them no matter what the intent of your character was. Not to mention, I was rather enjoying the newly reformed Nina, and all your plot twists are one of the reasons I've stayed in this place so long.
Now for Melph: Let me tell you, I completely understand your want for freedom in TTR, trust me. I'd love to go out and snag whatever I want, but do you ever get the Pokemon you want the first try when you're out hunting? Rarely, if ever. We thought that if you had to work for a specific goal, that it would be even more rewarding once you finally reached it. Remember how good you felt when Apollo evolved? As for the asking before acting statement, we have rarely if ever turned down a request that you've handed us, at least none you have asked me, to the best of my recollection. The reason we have that is so that new players do not feel they can traipse around Route 11 and catch a wild Wartortle. We do that so people don't have their plans interrupted or shut down in the middle of execution. I for one would be extremely frustrated if a story arc I had written and planned out had to be terminated because it conflicted with some major rule. It's just a precaution Melph, nothing to get excited over.
For the leveling up system, I once again empathize with you fellow roleplayers on that. I for one was not willing to change the rules in this regard, but after a bit of thinking, I knew we were doing the right thing. If you took a look at the levels, some of us nearly had multiple Pokemon near level 60. The older system, while easy on handing out levels, made it seem like your Pokemon gained experience for doing nothing, which we all know isn't the case in the games. We felt that once again, setting a small roadblock in terms of rules would inspire those in the roleplay to think up creative battles or situations that involved intuitive uses of your Pokemon. Handing out levels every update felt good, but it would get so boring if we all had super teams; no one would be a challenge, then we'd be even worse off.
The rules we have at this moment are in my opinion not as strict as it could be. What we have been trying to do is set up reasonable limitations for the environment we all play in. It seems the bulk of you have an issue with the level system we have in place, as every other rule is just stated for reference, we all know you can only have one attack per turn, Swords Dance Move Tutor costs $3500, yadda yadda.
If after reading this from our point of view and you still have a problem, I will happily accept PMs and instant messages from roleplayers with ideas on how to improve TTR. If you find that it is alright the way it is, by all means, continue on. However, if you find that we have slipped up, and imposed too many restrictions, talk to me. After gathering all your questions, I will speak with Aire and Mitsu, and we will decide if an alteration to the rules is possible.
I want you to remember that TTR is set up this way in hopes to better your roleplaying experience, giving form to the bare wall of text we type up each time our characters go on an adventure. Neither Me nor Aire once made a rule deliberately trying to anger or upset our fellow roleplayers, and if you feel that way, then I am truly sorry. I for one love this roleplay, and would feel devastated if anyone left. TTR has become one of the reasons why I stayed in the GPA, and if I didn't stay in the GPA, I would have never met my girlfriend, nor any of you amazing regulars whom I speak with on nearly an everyday basis. I cannot stress enough how many times one of you has helped me cheer up (Yes, even you Melph) when I was less than happy with my life, and the joy it brings me when I can return the favor.
In closing, I apologize for that textual assault, but I had alot to get off my chest. I am not angry at anyone at all, as I can sympathize, as it is my job to better this place for you people.
I hope I have helped clear up some issues. Remember I'm only a few clicks away if you have questions or concerns.

Good stuff. I came when the rules were pretty much as they are now, so I have nothing to compare to. Know what I'd like to see more of? Pandas. That's all really, a panda here and there would keep me happy, I don't ask for much more than that. GIVE ME MY PANDA scream
This lessening of a current issue is brought to you by the V.V.&V. corporation, thank you and have a nice day : )
