[Do what now?]
"Uhm... I was just trying to teach him to crawl better." Atem said, smiling nervously. "You know, use the old donkey and carrot trick." Anzu sighed a little as Kira went away, and then noticed that Ryou was still watching her. She smiled, feeling shaky. "Hey, Ryou! We haven't talked much. Look, I'm sorry about whatever had happened this morning..." Ryou shook his head, his eyes closed. He was surprised at what he said next, since it wasn't at all what he wanted to say. "It's no problem. I should be the one apologizing, really. Sometimes I just... I'm sure we all have our moments." He smiled faintly, looking to Anzu, who relaxed. Maybe if she didn't hound after Atem so much, Ryou wouldn't mind her presence so much.

Ember smiled "he ate breakfast and pooped."
Kira smiled picking up kai "ahh my big boy at his breakfast!" kai cooed happly.

"And pooped." Atem chimed in. "If you're going to be proud of him for eating, you should be equally as proud for pooping as well." If Atem's memory served him correctly, he had never had children. (Except Amenitre, but he didn't know that.) He wasn't sure what he was supposed to feel towards this kid. "So have you heard from the others?" Ryou asked, when there was a stall in their conversation. "We haven't really been in contact with anybody... I mean, well... Pegasus is dead. The Ishtars... are back in Egypt. That's about all I know." Ryou never had found out what Jounouchi, Honda, and the others had done with their lives. He thought Yugi or Atem might have stayed in contact, but if they knew about the others, they didn't say anything. Anzu smiled, really cheering up. She felt relatively safe in a conversation she could primarily control. "Well, I had seen Jou a few months ago. He moved out of Domino to the states to be with his sister. Their mother just died. Honda decided to stay in Japan, but he moved out of Domino. I'm not sure exactly where he is. I don't think he's settled down yet." She chattered on for a little while as Ryou sat down across from her, listening politely to the status of his acquaintances.

Kira laughed "yes youra good poop boy. Where going to have to get you a big boy potty soon. your growning way to fast." kira said happly.

The phone rang shrilly, making Atem jump. It stopped shortly, so he could only assume that someone else had picked up. He realized that he still had the monkey tied up and struggled to undo the knot he had made. "Not fast enough, I'd say. I'm sure that when I was that age, I..." He paused, looking up, a far away look in his eye. "Well, shoot. It's been thousands of years since I was that age, hasn't it?" He smiled bitterly. He really hated remembering his actual age. Ryou had been next to the phone, so was able to pick it up after its first ring. "Hello, Ryou speaking." He would have added some kind of ____ residence, but he didn't know whose house it was. Yes, Kira owned it, but so many people lived here he never used last names. He paused, listening on the other line for a little while. His brow knitted together. "Oh, well... She's unavailable. I..." He broke off, as the other person spoke again. Anzu silently sat, politely listening to Ryou's end of the conversation.
[The conversation is basically the same as what I wrote. I'm not gunna write it out, mainly since I can't remember it exactly.]

Kira headed out of the playroom "Who is it ryou?" she asked.

"I bet I had the same hair as a baby." Atem said, fingering his spikes and frowning a little. He winced. "Ouch. I'm sure my mother had a hard time getting me out if I had spikes." Ryou had finished the conversation, which had gone by rather quickly-- too suddenly for Ryou's liking. He stared blankly in front of him, then slowly looked up at Kira. He smiled weakly, though he had an odd look on his face. "That was... A woman named Margaret. She's..." He glanced over at Anzu, then got to his feet. "I should probably talk to you privately..." Meanwhile, elsewhere, Margaret hung up on her end of the line. She went into her kitchen, where a young man-- the agent from Child Protection Services-- sat. He had violet hair and the same colored eyes, but he was very polite, though a bit odd. She smiled, looking at her daughter. Her daughter was actually her foster child, but she would always consider Rei her own child. "Well... A nice young man answered instead. Ms. Nawi was unavailable, but he said we'll get in touch with her soon." Her smile flickered as she looked to her daughter. "Now, you're sure you want to go through with this?" Her daughter, Rei, nodded. She was a young girl, only about 8 years old, but seemed mature for her age. She had blonde hair reaching just past her shoulders, rather pale skin, and two almost reddish brown eyes. They had been blue when she was much younger, but they had darkened as she grew. She smiled at her foster mother, who was worried. "Yes. When will I get to talk with her?"

Ryou went, making sure Kira was the only one who joined him there. He seemed to be panicked, rather nervous. He covered his eyes with one hand, before finally looking up. There was no way of really beating around the bush. "The woman who called... Margaret... she's Rei's foster mother. Apparently Rei got curious about who her birth mother was, and they got in contact with someone who could get them in contact with you. Which was that call just now." He couldn't remember much about Rei. He had just been revived from the dead, actually, and the child was still a toddler. Kira had been very touchy about the subject after Rei got taken away, which was why Ryou was so nervous about this. It was that, or the fact that Rei was Bakura's child as well.

Kira had almost droped kai in shock of this news. She held him close her hands trembling "S-She W-wanted to t-talk to me?" she questioned.

Ryou looked away, nodding. "...yes. But I thought... I thought it would be best if you had a bit of warning before you got on the phone. You know, like you should think this over. Planned whatever you were going to say."

Ryou took Kai from Kira, in case she dropped him, like she almost had. He hitched Kai on one hip, keeping one arm around the boy, and used his other arm to keep Kira steady. He led her to the living room, and was quite glad when he found that Anzu had left. "They lives nearby-- maybe an hour or so out of town." He said, recalling what the woman had told him. He had done a little bit of math in his head as well. He dropped his voice down, speaking softly. "She'll be about eight years old now."

Ryou flinched internally. He almost wished he hadn't told Kira. If this didn't work out-- if Rei showed no further interest in meeting Kira, or any sorts of things... Then Kira would be torn. He couldn't possibly imagine what Kira was feeling right now. There was a stirring in his chest, though, which became a sharp pain after a little bit. He kept his eyes on Kira, needing to make sure she would be okay. "You can call back now, the woman left the number... But I really think you need to wait."
