Denko Sauvie Denko Sauvie Meta_Fish I hope they test the ******** out of this game and there aren't any advanced techniques. Leave all of the tourneyfags to play their ******** Melee while we get to play something new and freaking awesome. What is with your total hatred of tournament players? I know I know they play the game wrong and all that garbage. rolleyes See it from our perspective. Look, I'm by no means trying to insult anyone when I say this, but tourney-players rape the hell out of Melee to the point where it's no fun unless they're some kind of masochist that loves being tedious and loves boring the hell out of themself.Think of this. Okay, tournament players think that SSBM is still fun even when only played with Tier 1 characters, and a couple stages that are still free of "unfair advantages." Oh, and no items, most of the time. Point 1: They say "Winning should be based on skill." If it's based on skill, and the only way for people to win is to use game-glitches they call "advanced techniques" (because they're kidding themselves), then is it really skill after all? Both fighters are just exploiting the game system to win. And is that actually fun to press the same combos over and over? It would be like in Street Fighter, both people playing as Ryu and using Hadouken over and over until one player's reflexes finally burn out and he dies. Point 2: Compare SSBM to a giant, thiry-pound cake with icing and lots of decorations. If you take away all but pure skill and a handful of stuff left, you've got a cupcake with no icing that's burnt on the sides. Is that really what people want? Tourney-players can play SSBM/SSBB however they want, but if they're going to say that it's still fun, then they come off as borderline ignorant. @ Fish: I agree, dude. I couldn't agree more. Hopefully no glitch will ever make it through. First of all, no offense taken. Second. If you think that playing with tournament rules kills 100% of the fun from the game that is your opinion, I prefer them you apparently do not, that is no problem. I know of a lot of people who prefer the no items way of play some people prefer it, some people absolutely hate the very idea. third. Pros play with all characters not just Fox & Falco. and themajority of the stages are legal, only the stages that would legitimately disrupt the matches are banned like Flat Zone, Icicle mountain, Yoshi's Story 64 and Brinstar depths. which all have bad elements to the stages. Again play as you will, but saying that tournament rules take all of the fun from Melee is a strong opinion not an absolute truth. Valid points, and the fact still remains that I respect your opinion. But do you ever play with the items turned on? And on a "banned stage?" I'm just curious. And when you do, do you enjoy yourself? Can you keep yourself from wavedashing? I feel like if I mastered it, it would be hard for me to keep from doing it without even trying to... A reflex. Edited for odd wording that made it look like I knew how to wavedash. I do play with items at times to shift it around a bit (I do turn off some of the ones I particularly hate though) and I Personally don't really "ban" the stages I play all of the stages minus Icicle mountain, and yes it is fun, yet I prefer the no items way of play. Also I don't really wavedash all that much with anyone besides the climbers an Luigi, for others it is only really a way to dodge attacks without the rolling animation that your opponent can catch you mid roll with an attack.

So seeing as we all know we are getting an amazing update tomorrow, that or I will take Sakurai's head myself, what do you all think we well get for an update?
I am thinking the last third party character, and some music. Then like a little sorry notice for the game not being out.

Andrew Android Waynebrizzle Meta_Fish I hope they test the f**k out of this game and there aren't any advanced techniques. Leave all of the tourneyfags to play their ******** Melee while we get to play something new and freaking awesome. I've heard they already took wavedashing out. If that's true, then GOOD
I can't seem to master it and incorporate it into my game strategy, and there's no use for me to continue practicing it if it's not going to be used in Brawl =D
sweet =3 (if it's true, of course sweatdrop )
Well, the mechanic that was behind wavedashing is supposedly momentum based now, real physics, so you can't do all the glitchy things you could before.
