Well, I did too, but it didn't take me very long. There's lots of movies out there that I know are ringers. So it's like, "Jurassic Park, on the list. Terminator 2 on the list." You know? There were only a few where I was like, "Is it?" But most of them are actually very close to the heart.

I know it's off topic, but I'm playing my first Pheonix Wright game. biggrin (no spoilers, please.)
I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. Great game so far! Has anyone else played any of the games?

It's the Grill, there's no such thing as off topic.
I haven't played any of them, but they do seem interesting. I wanna pick up "Harvey Birdman" for PSP, it heard it's similar to Phoenix Wright, only with Harvey Birdman, and all those whacky characters.
EDIT: You know, Chase, I can't imagine why it would take you so long? I mean, I finished my list and even wrote a little blurb for every movie. Yeah, it took me all night, but it's all night while watching TV, so it's almost multitasking. I dunno, maybe our selection process is different. I mean, for me it's pretty much mostly gut instinct. Like, "Can I live without this movie? Do I have fond memories of this movie? Would I look forward to seeing this movie again?" That kind of thing. I don't overevaluate its little aspects. Because chances are, if I liked a Drama movie, then the acting was good. If I liked an action movie, then the action and the pacing was good. Etc. Etc. But hey, to each his own. Point is, my list will probably be ready today. I might do a top video games list, too. Not like the ones I've been making just top so many ever. Not looking at the platform or genre, or whatever, just which ones my favorites are.

@ Xenomina: I've played the first three Phoenix Wright games. Are you playing the original? I played them on the DS, but I know they just put the first one out on Wiiware. I'm curious as to whether they added the new episode from the DS version at the end (they were originally released as a Gameboy Advance games in Japan, and we didn't get them until waaayy later). That DS-specific case in the first one was the best one, because the DS enhancements made the gameplay for the investigation sections a lot more intuitive and engaging. Anyway, the first one is the best. The sequel, Justice for All, is the weakest link. Trials & Tribulations was a little better (and gets extra points for letting you play as Mia wink ). They're all fun, wacky and humorous little adventure games. But playing them on the DS, I was disappointed how none of the sequels added anything new like that last episode in the first one. Because after playing through that, everything else in the sequels just felt like a step backward as far as gameplay goes. And after getting through the third game, the formula got real repetitive and stale to me. It didn't help that quite a few cases in the sequels were far too similiar to the cases I had played before in the past games. So I kinda tuned out by the time Apollo Justice rolled around. And now they got, like, two more spin-offs. One starring Edgeworth, and the other with multiple lawyers. But yeah, they're cool. @ Deadite: Well, if you didn't see much more to it past the unique structure of the film, I doubt there's anything I could say to change your mind. And it's hard to explain it without giving away spoilers, and it's a movie you absolutely cannot have spoiled if you've never seen it. Yes, the reverse-chronological order that puts you into the character's same kind of unique perspective/situation is a big part. And yeah, you will never have that experience again in repetead viewings, though you will catch things you missed. And even after that, you still won't know everything. There's all these other little hints and subtlties that give clues to a dozen other different conclusions that you could draw. And that's what warrants repeated viewings of it. I love the ambiguity of it. It's a movie that really makes you think and it gets conversations going with your friends. But other than that, I loved the story itself, and the themes it explores having to do with memory, perception and loss. It's also got some really tense moments. I don't know about you, but I was literally on the edge of my seat during a particular scene... and no, it wasn't a shoot-out or a car chase. It was Leonard trying to find a frikkin' pen. That's not something that could work as an intense, edge-or-your-seat moment in any other movie. I love the opening and the 80s-ish synth theme. It sets the tone for the movie so well, and I think it's a beautfiul piece of cinematography. Also, who didn't feel for the guy? I can't go into details without spoiling stuff. But these are the reasons I love the movie.

Not looking at the platform or genre, or whatever, just which ones my favorites are. I do, which is why it's taking me so long. Also, it takes me about 5 to 10 minutes to get through each year. I don't skim through all the movie titles. I take my time reading every single one to make sure I don't miss a single film. Also, this is my top 100 list, and I wan't to make sure that it's totally true to myself. So I do constantly stop and ask myself, "Hey, I love Rocky, but do I love it more than a hundred other movies?" I don't want there to be a single film on this list that I'm unsure of, seeing as how it will be the foundation for my favorite movies from herein throughout the rest of my lifeseses. ...So, in other words: Stop rushing me! scream lol. I'm on year 1980. I redid my top 10 videogame list that I showed everyone here, what, about a year ago? It's now a top 20, and I'm thinking about increasing it to a top 25.

@Xenomina: I love the Phoenix Wright series! I have all of them except for the Edgeworth spin off. If you're playing the first one, you'll LOVE the final case. It's very long, but ******** awesome. I guarantee it.
@Stranger: I agree with you about the later games taking a step back. The new forensic things they added to the final case in the first made it really fun. It's a big shame they never implemented it in the others (kind of like the Condemned series).

I'm just saying I'm pretty much done. And I guarantee that this list will be true to myself. I'll go through it a couple more times to see if I wanna make some omissions, but all in all, I've looked over it, and it seems pretty complete.

@Thee Stranger: Yeah, it's the first DS one. It would be fun to play the originals, but I don't know a lick of japanese, and it would be hard to get copies of those in the first place.
My fiance is trying to play the Edgeworth one. Though he got stuck early on and just kinda gave up...the wuss.

@Stranger: Hmm, I did sense it's ambiguity, but after I learned everything, I just didn't feel compelled enough to warrant it another viewing to pick up all the subtleties scattered throughout.
I guess, really, it's just our differing conceptions of intriguing plots.
Well, done with the 80s...Just two more decades to go...
It will prolly be done by Sunday.

You're still gonna have to narrow it down to 100 after, though.

So, well, I've been lurking in here alot, and well, I've been too tired to actually post. Between work and raising a family, I've been doing a small bit of gaming.
So, I'm currently playing Silent Hill:Homecoming.
I've never been a huge fan of the Silent Hill games, I liked 3 and never got around to playing any of the others though I wish I had.
So far, I kind of like this one. But after playing nothing aside from a few FPS recently it's a nice change of pace. The graphics aren't bad. The gameplay itself has some issues, such as the dodging. Sometimes I dodge directly into an enemy, but that might just take some practice.
The atmosphere is kinda creepy, the music helps with that though. But, I'm not finished with it yet. So, I'll let you guys know what I think of it. As I'm more or less newer to the series than most (ie, Bio).
Let's see, what else is new. The town I live in finally got a decent snow day, only about 4 inches. But I live in West Texas so it's rare we get a decent amount like that.
Anyway, I guess that's all really.

Raising a little gamer, eh? If I have a son, I want him to be a jock. I want my son to get tons of action, cause that is what a loving father would want from his son. xd If I have a daughter, she is not allowed to leave her room until she turns 18 lmao.

While I wasn't impressed with Homecoming gameplay wise. (Let's face it, they more or less RE4'd it up.) The storyline, the writing and the voice acting.... I loved them so much that IMO, it's got the second best narrative in the series... Tied with Shattered Memories. I don't know how I'm gonna raise my kid, but one thing I do know, I'll be showing them violent action movies such as Rambo 2 and Terminator 2 from very early Childhood.
