You spilled your drink all over the first ransom briefcase on purpose-to hide the fact that you'd tampered with it to remove the gold and place in a ransom note. And the second note you tossed on top of the trash counting on it to hide your scent.
Too bad you weren't smart enough to hide your speaking style when you dictated the notes to Iris. She misheard you when you closed out the last one. You didn't want it to say "JUST US."...you wanted it to say "JUSTICE."

It is about JUSTICE. It always has been. An' I figgered Jaeger would live, yeah. He's got a tendensee to do that.
I figured it out last year, and no one listened. I saw the crime this year, so I though I'd get one over on EVERYONE, especially you Bigby, if I solved it before anyone else an' announced it here. 'Cept I was thinkin'... if I became the kidnapper, I could change this guild fer the better. Get rid of the people that ain't worth it. The murderers, thieves, assassins, d**k Grayson... yanno... EVILDOERS. I mean, lookit this place! Ya can't say I'm not justified! This place is bein' overrun by these people, there's no JUSTICE!
An' Iris was never in danger; I like the little hummingbird. She woulda been returned after tonight. Alls I wanted was the Deed and the cash. But now YOU went and messed it all up Bigby! It was gonna be GREAT!
