"Preferably, I would rather seal the dwarves into the room that would last until we left and then fight our way out if there is anyone standing in the way," Donovan replied back drily, "The problem with portals is that they take time to set up, the best chance is to set up the runes for the portal ahead of time near by and that is our meeting place."
It would depend on timing then, which was the other problem, and his mind was already working on how to try and arrange this.
"Besides, I'd like the intital killing to be done as quietly as possible."

Yue murmured, "The first time was the hardest because I didn't know where we were going, but if we're heading back towards the plantation or the castle, that isn't as hard to set up a portal with. Anyone whom knows how to can activate the portal, just remember to wipe the runes clean before you step in. I don't like leaving portals all over the place."
He would rather they head back to the plantation so he would wipe the runes clean off of the one on the carriage house. This way there would be no open passages anywhere.

So that leaves the question of when, Gion signed, nodding his understanding. I think we should go in sometime in the night, that way most of them are asleep. Less resistance. For the elves it doesn't matter, they always have someone on watch anyways.
He paused. And who is going to go with Nadya? That question hadn't been answered either, and Gion wanted reassurance that she would be all right.

Donovan mused on this thought for a while, there were two choices as in person to send, well three if one included Triton, but Donovan wanted Triton with them. For no other reason than the fact this was Triton's promise and really they were just along for the ride.
Which left really Mia and Yue, one might not think much of Mia, but Mia was a scary little child, whom Donovan might add had gotten in trouble in the past for doing violence onto others. On the other sense Mia might not like being left out, though he was not all that sure about taking her with them.
Which left Yue, which in a way Donovan did not mind. It meant there was one person in each party that knew how to use the portals, and Yue wouldn't be in the thick of things. Not that Donovan doubted Yue's ability, the man was more serious than he was at times, but he really, really hated to explain to Jaseth why his husband kicked the bucket if the unthinkable happened.
Hell, he hated to explain if any of them kicked the bucket, but he just didn't want to deal with the needy and overly innocent that made Kara look normal man that Yue called his mate.
"Yue," Donovan replied, "One person in each group that can use the portal."

Gion nodded. He had a great deal of respect for Yue, both as a person and as a fighter. He would feel comfortable letting him be the one to take care of Nadya.
He turned to Nadya and took her hands in his once more. What do you think? he asked her by thought. You and Yue go talk to the elves, let them know what's happening, while the rest of us take care of the dwarfs?

Nadya smiled faintly, feeling better now that she was outside and in the open. "That would be fine," she murmured softly. "Tonight, then?"
She had only known Yue for a few days, but she trusted the angel. And if Gion was that confident in his abilities, she knew that she had nothing to fear while she was with him.

"Better sooner than later," Donovan murmured, "We have the information we need, we know the target, it's just the matter of getting to him."
Besides that Donovan could not think of a better reason to stay any longer than they had to.

Nadya nodded and drew her knees up to her chest, slipping her hands from Gion's and hugging her knees tightly. "Then I think it would be best if we ate and rested," she murmured, "so that we're well rested for tonight."
She looked up at Donovan. "I don't suppose it would be safe to have a fire, now that it's daylight?"
She didn't want to complain, but she was freezing. It wasn't raining anymore, but the sun wasn't very strong this far north and it was still very cold.

Donovan looked to the skies for a moment, if Nadya was cold, one could only imagine how someone non elven like Triton or even Donovan himself might be feeling. Though Donovan tended to ignore his own discomfort when possible and he was more dressed for the weather. (Then again in what he normally wore it always seemed good for cold weather).
Still, it was daylight as she said, and it wasn't like a bit of smoke he thought was going to get so much attention. It would make sense that not all of them would want to stay with the elves or in town and people knew that they were there now. Well except for the extra three, but they could hide themselves if they needed to.
"Sure," Donovan replied, "They know we three exist, and as far as anyone is concern, we're just here on business."

Gion turned back to Donovan, his expression curious. Why would that matter? he signed, puzzled. If we make the fire right, they won't notice it. Besides, even if they know we're in the area, it wouldn't be a good idea to let them know exactly where we are. What if they realized who I was?
He frowned. His presence down in the cavern had been a foolhardy idea at best, but he hadn't been about to let Nadya go down there without him. Looking back on it, it wasn't such a bright idea. Still ... they were safe. For the moment.

"You never know who might come up this way," Donovan replied softly, "Accidents happen even when the fire is made right. I wouldn't want them to know exactly where we were, but we wouldn't be here long enough for them to do anything about it."
He paused for a moment, ti was true, he hadn't thought of that for Gion. Donovan supposed it was because Gion didn't wear his title like a cloak, like some royalty he knew of, so it never really occured to him. Then again Donovan didn't have a high opinion of the intelligence around here, even though he knew it was possible and there was no point in underestimating a person.
"If they did then what? So you're a prince, so it is unusual for a prince to be all the way out here. On the other hand, you could just be here to oversee things in this area, you could be here to learn," he shrugged, "Best way to learn is through experience, and well... people tend to think with their eyes than their heads. Unless they knew exactly how old you are, even being a prince isn't going to sway their judgement on how dangerous you could be."
He paused for a moment.
"That's actually a really good thing, seeing as they're more likely to turn their backs on you," he added drly.

Gion sighed faintly and brought up his hands again to sign, I was more referring to the dwarfs. Yes, if the elves find us, I could just tell them what's going on and to leave us alone and they would. But if the dwarfs realize who I am, they could come out here after all of us. Yes, they're surrounded by the elves, and wouldn't be allowed out, but I wouldn't be surprised if their tunnels run out far enough so that they could leave without the elves knowing it.
Besides, it had to be only a matter of time before they realized he was the Child Warrior ...

"So was I," Donovan replied back.
When he meant so was I, he meant he too had been referring to the dwarfs, he hadn't even considered the problem coming from the elves. Unless it was an ego problem, now that was a completely different kettle of fish.
"As a prince, I don't believe the dwarfs will do much but be very suspicious of what the elves want, as for the other...." Donovan trailed off, but alluded to Gion's other title, "We are only going to stay here long enough to deal with this one, there is absolutely no way I would come back here after dealing with a target that high up. True, there is a good possbily they can leave, if not now then in the future. Once we're out of here though, it is not going to be worth coming after us. It's one thing to spend a great deal of gold after a lone woman, but a whole group isn't going to be after they leave isn't."
Besides, he planned to carry out the business he hoped for after this was over. It would distrupt business between dwarfs and humans even more and if these people were depended on humans to help them, then the less they could do.
"Besides they'll be busy cleaning up, and trying to explain themselves to the elves here."

Gion nodded and looked around for something to make a fire with. He found some scraps of wood nearby and set a few of them together near the shelter of the rocks so that it wouldn't be affected by the wind, which was growing slightly stronger. He lit it carefully and settled in close to Nadya, looking to her to make sure that she was able to feel the fire's warmth.

The end of the day came all too quickly for Nadya, who, despite the fire, was still cold and tired. Two things kept her going: Gion's concern, and the thought that within a matter of hours, all of this could be nothing more than a memory. The clouds, for once, cleared, leaving the night sky spattered with stars. The moon was full, and shone brightly, bathing the Northland in a beautiful glow, giving a wonderful impression that no other weather had shown them before now.
She sighed and checked to make sure that she still had her dagger, just in case, then looked around at the others.
"I believe it's time," she said in a voice that sounded much stronger than she felt.
Well, at least she only had to talk to the elves. There was no way she would be able to make herself go belowground again to face the dwarfs.
