*Aimee smirks to him, knowing that Luke is saying this out of pure protocol only.*
Of course you're coming. You're the man with the car!
*makes a suggestion* Unless you'd like to lend your keys to me and Cora, and then maybe we can come to an arragement.

*Luke's lent Aimee his car before, but this is a question of pride. He lifts up his cell phone* All right. I'll go. But I'm taking a wingman with me.

*Aimee turns and shakes her head, exasperated to Cora.* Men...
He needs to bring one of his guy friends with him, so he's not completely overwhelmed by our estrogen.

*With the phone up to his ear* You're damned straight I do.
*On the other end, Chuck picked up.* "Hey, man," Luke said. "How's it going?"
*Luke moved over to the side to talk to him away from Cora and Aimee.*

...I've never experienced high amounts of estrogen to have adverse physical effects on males in singularity.

"Pretty good." Chuck sounded distracted. Listening more closely, Luke was able to hear Chuck typing at his computer.* "What's the word?"
"Aimee's taking Cora out clothes shopping."
*Chuck laughed.* "Let me guess. You need someone to make sure you aren't stuck with them asking your opinion on which shirt to buy: the blue one, the light blue one, or you know, the blue one."
"Read my mind. You good to go?"
"No can do."
"You f**. You're gonna leave me stranded out here?"
"Sorry, man. I'm only halfway done this article. I shouldn't have waited this long to work on it, but its just boring the s**t out of me."
"Yeah." Luke drawled sarcsatically. "I feel real bad for you."
*Chuck keeps going without missing a beat.* "It's about the food in the cafeteria. One of those really pretentious ones about how we're demanding higher quality food. It's not my idea to write it, but if I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it right. In fact, I need a quote. Say something about the food in the cafeteria. Make it attention-getting."
"How bout this: Go ******** yourself."
"Can I put it under your picture?"
*Luke can't help but laugh.* "All right. Say.... that I'm demanding that our food be catered, preferrably by attractive Playboy models wearing nothing but aprons." *adds* "And Lucky Charms. I can't believe they took them out of the cafe. ******** weak."
"I'll put in the part about the Lucky Charms. Thanks man."
"I can't believe you're leaving me out here. What kind of frat brother are you?"
"Hey, hey. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun. Bring me back something pretty."
"You're killing me, man."
"See ya."
*Chuck hung up.*
"Killing me!"

*laughs and nods to Luke* Well, you might try telling your cousin that. *adds surrepitously* If you think you could get him to listen.
*Aimee notes the way that Cora asks the question.* Are you studying science?

:::She paused. Her supposed affinity for physics wasn't going to explain all the biological jargon she had just thrown out:::
Well, I've actually studied many fields of science but the one I'm concentrating my efforts on at the moment is physics.

*focuses all her attention on Cora and says appreciatively* Oooo, that's intense. I have one friend who's studying astro-physics. All the man does is read, write, and think brilliantly.
What other fields did you study?

All of them.
:::Cora stops for a beat and saves it::: All the ones made available by the educational establishment. The various parts of biology... geneology, bioengineering, biochemistry, biophyisics, molecular biology, astrobiology. And chemistry too, some of my favorites include pharmocology, and organometalic chemistry.

*Aimee looks on, both absolutely impressed and stunned. No kidding. Cora was a science geek. Aimee knew that Cora seemed a little uncertain in social situations and that her fashion sense seemed more "laidback" than "glitzy", but she hadn't known this girl was an absolute science whiz.*
You must study your rear off! That's incredible. Where do you find the time to eat? Sleep? *No wonder she mentioned Luke corrupting her.*
