Faust knew precisely how much pressure a human skull could take. He clenched his teeth, realizing that while he was temporarily out from Hao's punch, good old Mephistophiles had probably arranged this. Wordlessly, he shook his head back and forth, numbly watching the skull hit Hao's had every time it came down from a toss.

As soon as Faust got a hold of the skull, Shizuka clamped Netsubo's wrist and ran, trying to protect her friend. There was no way that either method given as an option would be a reality. She wouldn't let it, as long as she was in this world.

*netsubo looked up as shizuka grabbed her wrist...the two started to run, but betsubo stopped.. with gestures she signaled that they needed to help faust somehow...they couldnt leave him there like that...especially when hao had eliza's skull!*

Faust smiled, intense relief washing over him. His greatest dread almost paled in comparison to his happiness at seeing the girls run away. "They got away!" he breathed. Shrugging with his good shoulder, he said to Hao, "Sorry. I suppose you'll have to do your worst, and I'll either die from grief or become a man with nothing to lose."

Faust narrowed his eyes. "I admire your courage, but I have to tell you that I believe you're bluffing. If you do indeed harm that skull, how long do you think I'll comply with your orders and calls?"
"Got to admrie that stick-to-it-tiveness," sighed Mephistophiles. "Although I personally think that Faust is bluffing. But Hao did a number on him! Does he really expect a man with several broken bones, head injuries, and severly depleted mana to go chase after two girls who are running for their lives?" he shook his head. "Lucifer might have to give up on this one. Even with his behavior earlier in the tournament, he's uncorruptable."

*netsubo got close....then caught faust's eye..she smiled at him, then held a finger to her lips...she got her wire ready...she would pull the skull.* *hao sighed again*'so...you believe i'm bluffing?"*he put some pressure on the skull until a small creaking sound was heard* (heres a fyi on what netsubo's wire looks like)

Any color that Faust's face might have retained during the night's events left it then. "Stop!" he cried, involuntarily reaching forward with his good (right) arm. He'd glimpsed Netsubo out of the corner of his eye, but knew that if he acknowledged her presence, the game would be up.
