It didn't matter. What ifs... had no point. Was there even such a thing as a loyal Seraphim anyway. Whatever... She thought. Janani could just as easily be taking orders from the Seraphim who's trying to destroy us.
She thinks 'the Seraphim wouldn't give killing orders to a mere Celest'...
Cora was distinctly positive that the Seraphim would tell anyone he could control to kill anyone he wanted. No problem... 'mere Celest' or not. And Janani's answer of "I'm not sure" and her naivety just weren't good enough for Cora, not when her freinds' lives were on the line. Janani was not to be trusted:::
:::Cora's eyes wandered to the magazines and the books in front of her. She thought about picking one up, and reading, but she realized she didn't want to. She didn't want to do anything at all. So she sat there, for many hours, not reading, barely thinking... in blissful emptiness, like dreamless waking sleep:::

:::When Cora awoke, she was alone. She sat up right in her chair and looked around very slowly. She must have slept for many hours, she thought, because after a few minutes she could feel the effectiveness of the drugs waxing and waning.
She didn't know whether she should induce herself again or not... perhaps, it wouldnt' feel so bad now. She had been without emotion long enough, maybe now it would be easier...
It took a few minutes for her to decide what to do with herself, but eventually, she picked up some books, and gazed at the covers. She held one up above her head, a few feet in front of her, as if she were putting it on a high book shelf that wasn't there. And when she let go of the book, it sat there, very much like there really was a bookshelf.
Cora watched it for a moment, and decided she liked it there. She started to organize the other books similarly, in floating timeless piles all around her, weaving a maze that she couldn't walk straight through without having to walk around a stack.
When her table was clear of them, and only the magazine she was reading earlier was waiting for her, did she finally sit again. She sat back in her chair, staring at it. She couldn't focus long enough to read a page. She put her finger on the line she was at, so she wouldn't lose it. But then flashes of thoughts, racing images and ideas distracted her before she could string more than a few thoughts together.
She leaned back again, her finger still on it's place in the magazine. She stared blankly out at nothing:::

**Enter Luke from Main Room Pg.**
*Luke walked into the library and stopped when he saw an arry of books - about 30 or 40 - floating in stacks above the ground. He sees Cora and realizes who's holding them there.*
*Luke walks forward slowly, as so not to break her concentration. After a moment's hesitation, he says.* Hey.

:::Cora hears him, and turns her head slowly from staring off vaguely at nothing, to staring vaguely in his direction, but a moment later, she focuses and sees him. The expression on her face is almost as though she's trying unsuccesfully to remember something:::

*Luke sigh a little again. Great. This isn't awkward, or uncomfortable. At least she seemed to have calmed herself down. Luke takes a seat across from her and leans back, watching her.*
*After another minute of silence, he shrugs and says.* ... What? You're not gonna talk to me?

*Luke blinked, taken aback by the answer and how calmly it was given. It was a complete 180 from her reactions the night before. He comes in - tells her that he kicked the Seraphim's a** - and she accuses him of not even trying to protect them? Tells him to go ******** some girl while -she- does all the work? Now, less than a day later, she's miss calm and collected?*
*But... she was calm right? Luke decides that's something.*
Are you sure? Because last night you wouldn't even let me get two words in to tell you a damn thing.

Sato was right. I was jealous. :::But just when she thought it didn't matter, something tumbled around in her gut. She surpressed the urge to frown. Instead she looked back at him, barely anything stirring behind her eyes:::

:::Cora suddenly felt like she could cry again, and she began to be angry at herself, thoughts of the fight she'd had with Luke maybe only hours ago flashed visually, she could hear what she'd said to him, and the angry look on his face, and the way Sato smirked at them both, and how all she wanted was to know if Luke was really alright, and why the Seraphim backed down...
but as quickly as all the thoughts flashed before her, they were gone again. And she was back to looking blankly back at Luke, her chest rising slowly and timidly, as though breathing was a boring, tedious process:::

*There are a few short seconds where Luke is stunned.*
*And then...* You think that's true? That I get to do whatever I want to do? *Luke leans down and pointed his finger down hard on the table.* That b*****d came to my campus last night. Where I live. And what do you think might have happened if I hadn't gotten that artifact?
