J'in breathed a bit easier as they were away from their dangerous flaming away team mate. Irath was relaxed but Irath usually was and the brown flamed some thread, thrumming cheerfully as he burned it into harmless ash.

I Status Effect Removed! Roll ten - saved by Uta
Roll 11 -The wind is rough, but you and your dragon are managing. You get a breather as your dragon flies into a small break of Threadfall. The upper altitudes must be doing a good job sweeping up! Roll 12-saved by Uta and Cinonth
Roll 16- A larger clump of Thread falls down hard and fast. Thankfully, your dragon is on top of it, and manages to hit the target with a large belch of flame just as it passes. [+1 Target Accuracy]
With a bugle of pain, Siloth attempted to wheel his large body away from thread, hopping momentarily between.

Fenrith, you must fight this. Thread cannot win! Nor could the wind, for that matter. Although for the moment, it seemed to be doing a good job.

I tire, my Illa. But I will try. For you. And for the little ones who watched, and sought out their examples above. As he spoke, thread blew right into them, wrapping around the pair... who blinked between.

The Third Hour: Round 3 Begins!
First Wave goes back to the Weyr! Rest up, check wounds, be ready to report to your Wingleader/Wingsecond. Relax. You did good.
Second Wave mount up! It's time to take over!
Candidates will have been assigned duties and tasks in the Weyrbowl, as well as in the Lower Caverns and the Infirmary. It's imperative they stay out from being underfoot of the weyrhealers and riders!
Rainstorm Wing aka The Tea Clutch. You're too little and too young to be assigned tasks and duties. Chances are, you're in the Barracks learning how to keep your dragon calm during high stress times of emotion. Your babies are still sensitive and likely easily distressed, so I can't imagine they are going to want them underfoot in the Weyrbowl. It's possible their morning or afternoon chores are going to be helping in the kitchens and areas that keep them away from the worst of the trauma and chaos.
- - - -
Current Hour: 1300
Current Location: Over the plains, between High Reaches Hold and Balen Hold. A bit north of River Bend Hold. The land is mostly farmland and agriculture. There are some rivers, and a few orchards or woodlands. The further west/west-southwest they fly the woodlands get thicker.
The winds have changed and are getting stronger as they get closer to the center of that system Low. Prepare for extra buffeting!
- - - - They were halfway through. D'mon warned his Wingleaders to prepare for changeover. One Flight leaving, another Flight coming in. It was a tricky maneuver, as it meant certain riders could be left exposed if a group faltered, missed the signal, or missed the location. Furthermore, the Second Wave came Between immediately into the fray and had no time to prepare for conditions.
Still, D'mon had faith in his riders. He knew they were all prepared, and he did not doubt that the change would be anything less than excellent.
Tell them it's time, Thistreth. The man paused as his bronze flamed down a clump of thread. Tell them they did well.
The bronze dragon rumbled appreciatively. To all the wings and the Wave One riders, the bronze spoke. You have done well! Though it has been difficult, though the winds have been strong, you have persevered. Return to the Weyr knowing that you fought a hard fight today, and you deserve to relax, to recuperate, to heal your wounds, and kiss your loved ones. Be proud, for you have helped us to save countless lives today. The ichor you spill is but a small sacrifice for keeping thousands of Pernese safe. High Reaches is grateful.....Dismissed!
The signal was given, and all first wave riders blinked Between. In hardly a cough later, new faces appeared, ready to take their place.
For those fighting on, or those just arrived, be cautious! The winds are projected to deteriorate further as we get closer to Balen Hold! Be safe, and keep up your guard. Look out for one another, as you have, and we will get through this together! For High Reaches. For Pern!
Everyone Actively Fighting Thread or Joining the Fray Gain +10 HP and Remove Any Current Status Effects Let's start this fight clean, shall we? If you are already maxed and/or have no status effects, simply enjoy the speech from your Weyrleader.

BURNING ACES WING A'ye of Green Oyath HP: 20 Status Effect: None
XP: +1 [ BA ] Target Accuracy: 6 Flame Length: 6 General Stamina: 6 General Agility: 10 Between Accuracy: 6 +1 Pain Resilience: 7 Instinct: 6 Luck: 6
FLYING SECOND WAVE Mid-Altitude
We fly. Oyath had hardly been entertained by the Weyrleader's speech, instead preferring to launch herself into the air as soon as she could. A'ye held tight as they blipped Between and came out in formation, his eyes scanning the skies to see where he could start.
It didn't take long for them to start flaming down groups, Oyath carefully letting lose her fire before jumping and dodging. A'ye did his best to keep their attention focused, but there was no denying the wave of panic that hit as he spotted a clump of Thread rising up towards them. There was no need to speak or fear as Oyath carefully jumped ahead, clearing them of the danger.
You panic too much. We're ready.
Round 3, Part 1: roll 1: You're so focused on flaming Thread that you miss a clump of thread blows up on the wind -- beneath you! If a green, or blue, you manage to jump Between ahead of it. Thankfully, your smaller size means you're able to avoid getting harmed! [+1 Between Accuracy]
HARBINGER WING! You have fought fiercely! You have had each other's backs! You have kept up the pressure, and not given in. Do not give up. Your Weyr needs you. Pern needs you. And we know you will succeed.
The wind tried to blow Z'tir and Siloth out of formation, but they held on. Even as they fought, thread glanced against them, seeking to wrap itself around them once more.
HURRICANE WING Efrideet of White Asuracath [13] [roll2] [roll3] [roll4] [roll5] HP: 15 Status Effect:

FINALLY.
Loud as the word was, it was practically a sigh of relief compared to the white's usual ranting. Efrideet did her best to run another check on their straps, but Asuracath was raring to go and fidgeted too much for her to take a closer look. Eh, it'd have to do.
REST, WINGMATES. I WILL TAME THIS MENACE, she all but roared to her wing as her rider slung a leg over. And with that, they Between'd into the fray.
Almost immediately they saw a clump tumble to their left. Efri barely had time to urge Hers on before Asuracath chewed the stone and spewed fire. "Sura, wait, we need to--" But no, they didn't need to get closer at all, it seemed. The pent up energy served them this time as her fire caught the Thread whole, reducing it to nothing but ash in seconds.
Asuracath trumpeted her triumph as she returned to Hurricane Wing, eyes blazing.

Following the wing down to the lower level, D'ast felt ash raining down on him and did his best to brush it off himself and Zetigeth as they proceeded towards their formation. To his relief Ashlyn was cycled out, he'd seen her disappear and had known that something had happened despite his best efforts to try and help the pair. There was no telling with Thread when the moment would come.
He had no time to focus though, or so his brown reminded him firmly when he requested a piece of fire stone. Digging through the bag the man tossed it forward and his entire mouth lit up.
"Zetigeth, you can't possibly have..." A grumbling growl met his exclamation and the dragon surged forward despite the pain.
ASHLINGS WING V'mel of Brown Aviroth Round 3-1 (Low Altitude) 9 – X – X – X – X X – X – X – X – X
Roll: 9 - Your dragon notices a sudden writhing stream of silver thread out of the corner of his or her eye. If a brown or bronze, you find yourself unable to dodge, and take a hit! Attention diverted with the changing of the wings, Aviroth missed the sliver of thread that tangled about one leg, sending him slipping between for a beat. An inauspicious start to the hour. Well done, Ashlings. Those of you returning home, rest well. Let the healers tend you, see yourselves and your riders fed. V’mel and I do not expect you to adhere to the schedule this evening—take this time as you will: seek comfort if it is your need, and enjoy the time you have earned. Tomorrow we resume as usual, barring any serious injuries. Those of you rising to join the fight—this is your purpose and your duty. We know you will comport yourselves with control and discipline.
