► Company: Alone ll ► Wallet:$993.75 ll ► Outfit: New to Town ll ► Location: Moonbucks Hmmm...The weather report was slipping. On his way into this new city, he was under the impression that it would be nice and bright out but was forced to put on a sweater the closer he go. It wasn't terribly cold out, but Oliver felt the need for a sweater since he was near the ocean. He knew the water often brought cold air but it was the middle of summer. Oh well. It wasn't like he was seriously inconvenienced; just had to add once extra layer. Stretching out his arm, he twisted his wrist so he could look at his watch. It was early afternoon, but after settling into his new home and getting Dante settled as well, he felt the need for a bit of a pick me up. Grocery shopping would have to wait for tomorrow, when he was more rested. The long ferry ride was enough to make him lethargic from lack of stimuli. The out of date newspapers were frustrating alone, but with just the ocean around him, there was quite literally nothing to do! While his back was feeling a little stiff, he loaded himself into his tundra and made his way through the streets until finding the Moonbucks Cafe.
Parking his massive truck, Oliver stepped out and gave his back a small crack before walking through the glass door. Hazel eyes looked over the industrial look and took a whiff of the coffee smell in the air. Cozy. Seemed a bit like one of those hipster places, but coffee was coffee. Taking his place in the small line, he pulled out his wallet to get his phone and put the wallet away. He texted his son that he finally made it to his new home since the young man wanted to know, and make sure he was safe. Such a caring boy he was. Took after his mother. Despite her own horrible upbringing, she had always managed to be a sweet woman. The brunette couldn't help the sigh of sorrow as he began to miss his late wife. It was a shame there was nothing that could have been done to save her, but he would always cherish the time he spent with her. Unfortunately it was time to push those thoughts aside as it was his turn in line. Putting down his phone, he looked up at the menu and realized that he hadn't figured out what to get! He hated being one of those people. He didn't mind being behind them, but being the cause wasn't something he was fond of. "Oh shoot, just give me a large, iced, white mocha and a slice of wild berry pie. Please," he ordered politely. Paying the young woman behind the counter, he scooted out of the way and took a seat near the counter to wait for his items. It wasn't terribly busy, but Oliver was still surprised at how quickly his order came up. They even warmed up the slice of pie! Pleased, he grabbed his things and found a more comfortable seat for his aching back.

  Having upset the other person, Zurinh offers an apology/ Health: 100% / Energy: 100% / A cafe/ Someone looking for a seat/ Link/ Coffee, his wallet, a messenger bag, and a couple books/ ///Text, " Speech", ' Thought', OtherMoney: $96.15 [Out of $400] /// Single
With some indecision, turning back on the fact that he hadn’t responded immediately, Zurinh shifted briefly in the fact that he probably hadn’t seemed that welcoming overall. Not having responded immediately: he had sort-of off-set her. Thinking toward what he could say in response, that cut off shortly; the other looking down, her next words trailing off after he spoke. Off-set himself, while not too apparent outside of his current stance--- it was clearer that he hadn’t done much good in taking that long to reply. What he had said: had been the same, not meaning to do anything; but it had still upset her. Taking on an uncertain tone himself, looking off to the side for a moment, he turned ahead again after a further one. As she sat down, Zurinh tried to think over what he could say next; that he had made her feel bad echoing in his own mentality. This took a brief span; but after a few beats his next words went by.
After she sat down, he made a further attempt, taking in a short breath before speaking. “--I wasn’t trying to be harsh; sorry. Ignoring you wasn’t meant either, I got sort-of lost in reading.” Sitting with a slight awkwardness, not that certain he had managed enough, he waited for a response, hoping she wouldn’t push aside what he said. If not, he wouldn’t know what he could actually say, if anything, to try to turn around what had happened so far.

She somehow ended up pulling a double shift to make up for a person who didn’t show up for theirs, so that on its own was making her run a little late. Not only that, but she had to shower after work! The Siren didn’t want to show up to a hang out spot smelling sweaty. Gross! Since she was in such a hurry, she didn’t really have much time to dry her hair all the way, so running through chilly weather wasn’t helping her much in this case. The moisture from her hair combined with the the sheer chilled wind made her ears turn bright pink from the cold. Good thing the two had planned to meet up at a coffee shop. The warmth from the freshly made coffee would help beat this bitter cold.
After running a few blocks, Mi-Yeong finally made it to her destination and pushed through Moonbuck’s doors. The shop was permeated with the strong scent of freshly ground coffee beans, alongside with the baked goods that were sold, too. It was a sweet smell that Mi-Yeong became quite fond of after a while living in Soleil. Dark and long lashed eyes scanned the area in search of her reaper friend, and soon caught a glimpse of the woman’s figure in her gaze. ” Good. Looks like she just got here. “ The Siren thought to herself as she stood in line to grab a warm drink. She needed something caffeinated in order to stay awake from pulling such a long work shift.
It took a bit of time, but Mi-Yeong finally got her hot coffee in her palms and swiftly made her way over to Hikaru. ” Long time no see~ “ A soft voice said as a smile graced her face. She could honestly say that she had missed her friend. It had been a long while since the two last talked, so they had quite a bit to catch up on! ” How’ve ya been? Her hands started to fold the receipt in hand to form who knows what. A habit that she usually does just to distract herself from reality's mischiefs. This method would help her remove her anxiety a bit whicg indeed show as her shoulders slowly loosened up from her previous tensed self. Everything would be fine.
Hm? She blinked. Carefully she lifted up her head to face the stranger aitting right across. It appears that she read his words incorrectly. Then again, she had never been an expert with human interaction. "Oh? No. No. No. she said as her hands raised in front of her shaking her as if there was no tomorrow. "It was my fault. I should have noticed that in the first place since I tend to be like that whenever I find myself a good book." Her words slowly softed as she said the last part. She was not sure if that would be helpful or end up offending him.
Her eyes trailed off far past the stranger. A method she usually use to lower the tensions she may be feeling. From where she sat, she noticed one of the customers getting their order from the baristas. Oh no! She immediately went under the table as if she was hiding from something. In truth she was only trying to look for her receipt. It may have flew away while she was in a state of panic.

Summer sighed softly as she walked towards the cafe, her boots gently splashing in the puddles that had formed on the sidewalk. As she headed towards Moonbucks, Summer glanced at some of the people she passed and noticed that none of them really seemed to be pleased with the weather and shook her head. She didn't think the rain was so bad. It was super refreshing! Oh well, to each their own she guessed! Once she finally reached the cafe, Summer closed her umbrella before stepping inside. Wiping her boots off on the rug, she headed up to the counter. She was already pretty sure of what she wanted, but was also considering trying out something she hadn't bought before.
Staring up at the menu with a concentrated look on her face, Summer decided that she was going to give one of the other menu items a try. After the man in front of her ordered his items, Summer stepped up to the counter. "Um... Could I get a large peppermint mocha and a brownie please?" She said before paying the girl behind the counter. Stepping to the side, Summer glanced over at the male that had ordered before her and blinked in surprise. 'Well... he's attractive.' She thought to herself, though before she got a chance to try and say anything to him, his food was ready and he was gone. Pouting a little bit Summer then smiled as she was given her coffee and treat. "Thank you." She said cheerfully before glancing around. Noticing that the table next to the mysterious man was open, Summer smiled as she walked over. Setting her stuff down, Summer pulled her chair out and took a seat before turning towards the stranger.
"You know. I've been to this cafe many... many times and I don't think I've ever seen you here before." She said, tilting her head to the side ever so slightly. "I'm Summer." She said, smiling brightly.

More conversation goes on before the other person starts looking for something. Not sure what’s happening, Zurinh asks as much/ Health: 100% / Energy: 100% / A cafe/ Someone else/ Link/ Coffee, his wallet, a messenger bag, and a couple books/ ///Text, " Speech", ' Thought', OtherMoney: $96.15 [Out of $400] /// Single
There were a lot of ways for how what he said could have gone, most either in the good or bad spectrum. In Zurinh’s own perspective, he had somewhat messed up; although the fact that he had wasn’t the reason behind his indecision and unease. In the moments that passed, the first kind was accurate. Following his statement, trying to clarify things, the person ahead of him looked up, letting out a brief ‘Hm’. On his own mind, Zurinh a mental thought; a question that amounted about to about a ‘huh?’ Raising her hands out ahead of herself, she started to shake them, that gesture going against the problem along with a few words. Knowing what that meant; having been around enough for that in his own case, there was a brief nod of acknowledgment.
Keeping his attention ahead, then resisting the sense to look off to the side in thought; he regardless still made an attempt at a response after she explained further. Despite that the sentence taking on a quiet tone towards the end - something he noted - it wasn’t taken badly on his end. Although there weren’t too many people around that read a lot, who he knew; it was still a common lapse. Being compared to someone else by that extent; like most other things in that sense; didn’t actually bother him. It could be even considered positive sometimes, as far as he could reason. As it was, a few thoughts were passed ahead--- though not completely before the other person dived beneath the table. “A lot of people can--”
After her eyes trailed off towards the counter and she went under the table, Zurinh stopped for a moment before shifting where he sat, not getting up so that he would attract attention to either of them. His tail moving with some unease, a slight move back, lean and attempt to peer down at the area under the table started. “What’s--? … Did you lose something?” Saying that, it was spoken with an undertone, Zurinh not yet moving to stand, not that certain what was happening other than anything being dropped. In a second, he would, and did get up regardless; making sure to do so subtly so as to also not draw attention; either way, something seemed to be wrong?

► Company: Summer ll ► Wallet:$993.75 ll ► Outfit: New to Town ll ► Location: Moonbucks Since all his furniture was moved ahead of time, there wasn't much in the way for him to do. Actually, the only thing left for him to do in his new home was actually sit down and settle in. He would do that just after enjoying the new cafe and his warm pie. Well, the cafe was new to him anyways. Using his fork to cut off the end piece, Oliver smiled to himself as the tartness of the wild berries hit his palette. It was warm, soft, and the sweet crust offset the tartness of the berries. It tasted almost like it was homemade! There was no way a place like this had the time to home bake pies of such deliciousness. As he was going in for his third bite, Oliver's attention was drawn by the sound of a feminine voice to his right and directed his hazel gaze in their direction. A rather beautiful young woman was sitting beside him, her striking blue eyes fixated on him. The older man wasn't sure he had ever met anyone with eyes quite like hers and it caused him to pause. Sure, he had always thought his wife's eyes were beautiful, but honestly, they were no match for the blue this woman's eyes were. Smiling, Oliver finished the bite in his mouth and set the fork down. "Actually, I just moved here. I thought I'd see the sights before settling into my new home," he replied casually, extending a hand. "Summer, that's quite the beautiful name for such a...beautiful woman. I'm Oliver." He felt zero shame in complimenting someone on their beauty, even a stranger. Such things were usually left to the younger generation, but he was close to passing that by. He may not be as sprightly as he used to be but that was because of the back surgery, not old age. In fact, he was in better shape than most men his age!
"I take it you've been here a while then," he said as he picked up his cup and took a sip from the straw. "What would you say is the best part of the city, in your opinion?" he asked, fully curious as to this woman's experiences here. Everyone was different, with varying degrees of encounters. And unlike some of the residence, he had no idea of the mystery surrounding the coastal city. He had picked this place because it seemed like the most wholesome and laid back. It's not like he was retiring from life! He wasn't about to move to Malibu or some other crazy place and play golf the rest of his life, he just needed a change of scenery after his discharge from the military. Summer spoke of being to this particular cafe many, many times! It made him think that she had been here a few years and knew her way around. Even if she didn't, there would be no harm in learning of her personal experiences. Turning back to his dessert, Oliver cut another piece from his pie and ate it, making sure to pick up the pieces of berries that tried to get away from the utensil.

In a state of panic, the young maiden was not able to pay attention to what the other party may have said. Her eyes surveyed the floor, looking for a piece of paper that she needed to exchange for her drink. The moment her eyes laid upon the missing receipt, her eyes glistened with joy and reached for it quickly as she could, bumping onto the table as she attempted to resurface back up. "Ah" The bump was rather hard for the table to be shaken. She was too excited to finally find it.
One hand rubbed her head that collided with the table while the other held the receipt. "S-sorry. I thought I lost my receipt." She said shyly, raising her hand to show him the said paper which was folded randomly into various ways. It can be considered as an origami. She just doesn't know what figure it is? What worried her though was the damage she may have cause after bumping the table.

Summer stared at the stranger, a curious look on her face. Summer was typically a very friendly person and wasn't scared to introduce herself to somebody new, even if that somebody wasn't really interested in being her friend. "Ah, I'm sure you'll enjoy the city it's a great place to live." Staring into the man's eyes a blush would appear on her cheeks as he complimented her appearance. "A-Ah! Thanks!" She said, smiling. "It's nice to meet you Oliver." She said before taking a sip of her coffee. Setting the cup back down on the table, the young woman nodded her head. "Yeah. I've been living here for almost a year now." The city really was a great place to live and she absolutely loved it here. She had a best friend... she's never really had one of those before, well, at least not one that didn't think that the only way they could have fun was to go get blackout drunk every night. Looking at Oliver again, Summer tapped her bottom lip in thought. "The best part of the city?" Hmm. There were many good things the city had to offer. Awesome places to hang out, wonderful people to make friends with. "Hmm. I would have to say the ocean, but that could be because I grew up around the ocean." She said with a small chuckle. Having grown up in Hawaii the ocean was a huge part of her life, she would spend all day at the beach with no regrets. Picking up her plastic fork, she cut off a small piece of the brownie and ate it before turning to Oliver again. "So, what made you decide to move to Soleil?"

The table is jolted; Zurinh asks about the receipt’s pattern before mentioning a coffee spill/ Health: 100% / Energy: 100% / A cafe/ Someone else/ Link/ Coffee, his wallet, a messenger bag, and a couple books/ ///Text, " Speech", ' Thought', OtherMoney: $96.15 [Out of $400] /// Single Under the table, she didn’t seem like she had heard what he had said: more focused on looking for what she lost. He stood where he was for now, not that certain he should actually do anything. That was sort-of a mistake, that became apparent after she made a quiet sound, picking up something from the ground and then trying to stand abruptly. When she hit the table, a couple things that had been there fell to the sides; Zurinh by instinct almost moving to reach for the cup there but stopping when he realized it was too late. He didn’t just stay where he was despite that, instead shifting to turn to the other person first. Before saying anything, there was a quick check towards the aftermath of the table being shaken.
Looking to a part of the floor a short distance away, Zurinh didn’t immediately give attention to the book set nearby the drink earlier; assuming it hadn’t been hit by coffee. What he had been drinking wasn’t really something he could do much with at this point. There was a puddle on the floor instead where it had rolled to, then fallen. Ignoring that after it was recognized, she was turned to, Zurinh’s gaze moving to the receipt--? she was holding. Thinking for a moment; slightly upset, that wasn’t obvious outwardly. What she was holding looked sort of like a bird, what he thought it was then mentioned. Despite that, something towards both a statement and question initially went through his voice. "No problem----it looks like an owl?" A pause started, Zurinh trying to ask more without being awkward. "You made that without a pattern?" He didn’t know much about origami; only there were a lot of different methods.
Thinking back towards the spill, his next words were oriented towards that, brought up somewhat absently but still a mostly-clear warning. "There’s a puddle nearby, I’ll try to clean it up soon, after I find napkins." Though an indirect reference to the coffee-spill, it wasn’t made into much of an issue by his tone; Zurinh briefly starting to look around for a counter-space with them, but not yet moving away.

Her head tilted slightly to the side, quite puzzled at what the stranger said to her. Her lips twisted as her brows furrowed slightly as she took a good look at the paper held in her hand once more. An owl? Is what he pertained it too. This person may have quite the imagination for she could not figure out how that looked like an owl. Then again, she’s not that well versed in the field of origami. Maybe it does. ”Uh.. yes? It just ended up that way for some reason.” she said meekly in her attempts to be conversational.
Although she paid not much attention to her surroundings, she could feel something splashing slightly towards her leg. It was not that much but the coldness would be able to capture ones attention if it were not someone as distracted as her.
Her eyes widen as she come to realize the problem she have caused him. The coffee was spilled. His book? Thankfully, saved. She knew fairly well how precious a book may be to a bookworm. ”No, please allow me.” As if on cue her name was called by one of the baristas which she took advantage of. ”I’ll be right back” she said with a smile as she stood to get her drink.
While at the counter she asked if there would be someone who would be kind enough to help them clean the mess she created. As requested one of the crew would go towards their table and would attempt to help the stranger with the puddle. That was not the only thing she did there though. Upon her return she would have a cup of coffee in each hand. One was her coffee jelly and the other was the one that the stranger would have ordered which would have explained the reason why she may have taken much more time there at the counter. ”I asked them what your order was. I hope it’s correct.” She would then hand him over another cup as a replacement.
(Would it be fine to say that she had his name written on it as well?)

She was about to head to the table when the siren called out her name, together with the steaming cup of coffee. Hikaru sighed with the sight exasperation shown on her face, but she smiled afterwards, "Man, it's about time. I was about to tell you some stuff, but we should take a seat." She then searched for a vacant table, though there were a few more others who were now there, meaning the cafe was becoming a bit more crowded. Fortunately, there was one table near the wall, below the light fixture on the ceiling, that wasn't occupied yet. Hikaru gestured Mi-Yeong to follow her to that spot and the fallen angel made herself comfortable on that seat, allowing the other to occupy the other side.
"Well, about the first time we met... I ended up making a painting based on that moment, and I just finished last week. It's currently in the private gallery of my house, though," she narrated. She hadn't let Mi-Yeong enter her house yet; Corbin was also having his day-off, so he was at her house to take care of some things. More importantly, it seemed that there was no contact from the Ice family in a long while. ► Company: Summer ll ► Wallet:$993.75 ll ► Outfit: New to Town ll ► Location: Moonbucks Oliver nodded along as he licked his lips of the sugar that coated the pie crust. The ocean. He had never lived anywhere near the ocean before; this would be his first time. Throughout childhood it had been Detroit. During his adult life it had been Virginia and overseas. He had crossed the oceans meany times, but never had the pleasure of really getting to live near it. Even though he never had the experience, there was something undeniably calming about the ocean. He had no idea if it was the sound of rolling waves, digging your toes in the sand or the sunsets, but nothing could really compare to it. It wasn't like he had never been to the ocean in his life, he had been a few times throughout his lifetime but this was entirely new. He was excited to start this new chapter, especially with his son being all grown up and starting a family of his own. Taking another warming bite of his pie, he thought on her question a bit. Licking his lips and pressing a knuckle of his finger to the corner of his mouth to catch some excess drool, he turned back to Summer. "I needed a change of scenery. I recently finished recovering from back surgery and living in Virginia was becoming to stuffy for my liking," he replied with a light chuckle. It was entirely too true. There wasn't much for him to do out there that he hadn't done one hundred times over. Oliver wasn't opposed to talking about himself, he didn't feel the need to hold anything back as there were no skeletons in his closet. Well, unless you count some of the things he was forced to do during combat. The rest of his life was no secret and he would never treat it as such. He worked hard to get the comfortable life he had now and would never be ashamed of how it started. Oliver motioned to Summer with his free hand, "What about you? Clearly the ocean was one of the draws, but anything else?"

After cleaning up, more is said/ Health: 100% / Energy: 100% / A cafe/ Someone else/ Link/ Coffee, his wallet, a messenger bag, and a couple books/ Hope this is ok?/Text, " Speech", ' Thought', OtherMoney: $96.15 [Out of $400] /// Single At the tilt, he thought towards what he had said earlier. While it didn’t look that way in shape exactly, paper sort-of seemed like feathers to him, if folded. The receipt, having writing on it, made it seem more that way by pattern. Blinking and shifting briefly in indecision, her next words didn’t quite catch him off-guard, but made him self-conscious. "I think the text and paper, by how they are, partly makes it look like one-- or close to that. Writing adds to that sense?" Following an explanation, he looked off to the side briefly, not that certain what he said made much sense.
Looking back after a moment, Zurinh picked up on her expression and paused at her following statement. Asking, partly, that she take care of the aftermath, he nearly spoke up but stopped; hearing a name being called, before she said she would be back shortly. "Thanks.” Letting that go by before she left; he wasn't sure it was heard. Zurinh stood nearby, just in case anyone went by. While it wasn’t too likely it would pose as an issue, as it likely would be cleaned up before anything happened, it wasn’t something that was good to risk. After a minute passed, Zurinh thinking over what he had said so far; still aware of the awkward tones; she came back with two drinks.
After a moment he took the offered cup, that attempted after a short response. "Thanks— if it isn’t, that’s alright. I’m fine with anything; in going out of the way to do that.” Uncertain whether he should offer to pay for it, if she had bought it as a replacement-- it didn't seem like best thing to ask, yet he still felt like he should. If he could, mentioning that would be attempted shortly.
Looking to the puddle again, his next statement addressed it. "I’m going to wait for it to partly cool down; at least while cleaning up things.” Saying that, he partly excused himself and a walk over to where he had seen napkins started. Passing by the counter, this was followed up by him taking some from the holder, then turning to go back. When he got there, an employee had already started dealing with it. Asking if he could do anything, he got an affirmation; and doing that didn’t take too long, everything but the table part mostly taken care of.
Once tossing the napkins, he turned and stopped for a moment with some thought before heading back. A brief path to where he had been earlier followed up, Zurinh's indecision apparent in his expression, but he spoke anyway after stopping in his walk. Giving his name had been considered and was now decided on; his stance uncertain. A moment going past, he spoke up, pushing aside indecision. "--I think I should give my name? --If doing that isn’t too forward— I go by Zurinh.” While she could already know that, having asked about his drink, he still tried to say as much.

Carmina was still trying to make of the image of an owl in her mind. ’Text and papers’ he said. She was still uncertain. She just could not see it. With his appearance she was not sure of his race but her mother once said that there are people who get to see faces of creatures even in the weirdest place; those creatures ate blessed with supernatural powers or just exceeded the abilities of a normal human being. Maybe that’s the kind of sight he has. ”No- no! I guess I just lack that sort of imagination. I have yet to learn a lot more.” She said politely, hoping her actions did not offend the stranger.
Her lips curve up into a smile after hearing his ’thanks’. She stopped right in her tracks, peeking over her shoulder and nodded in response. It looks like she’s making progress! The moment she got back she got another ’thanks’ which made her eyes glisten with joy; although her confidence went down once more by his words of possibly ordering an incorrect beverage for him. ”O-oh.” Let’s just hope for the best and put the trust with the baristas serving them.
She felt a bit guilty not being able to clean up the mess she caused which made her regret asking for help from others for cleaning up after her. At her home, she was used to having others do it for her. If possible she would like to outgrown it. Thankfully, one of the staff did not disappoint her. Before she was given a chance to call him back the stranger was already on his way back so she opted to stay silent.
Her eyes were on her phone by the time he returned. The message she received captured her attention completely to notice the fidgeting bookworm. It was from the application she sent online. A few days back before she arrived here in Soleil. Her attention was then brought back to the stranger when he spoke. ”Huh?” He was stammering, well sort of. ”Oh yes!” she said rather excitedly. Standing up to match his gaze she then stretched out her hand for a shake. ”It’s a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. Zurinh! My name’s Carmina, the newly appointed manager of Bookworm’s ” His sudden introduction was too close for the to eliminate her feeling of excitement. This is one step for her independence.
