"Hello?" Wren called out tentatively, unsure whether more patients might have come in since the day before.

In just a moment, Kyrie appeared in the doorway. "Good morning," she greeted them with a cheerful smile. She was wearing long pants and a long-sleeved tunic, belted around the waist. It was very different from anything the group had seen her wear before, and somehow it seemed to give her a different aura. Perhaps a bit warmer (and not just physically), more relaxed.

Kyrie grinned widely. "Great," she beamed. "And I hear you all had a good day, too. Checking out the city, relaxing ..."

"It seems louder today than it was yesterday," Wren ventured. "Or is that our imagination?"

"No, you're right," Kyrie agreed. "Old Year's Day and New Year's Day are in two days, so people are preparing for them. Those days are going to be just as loud, just to warn you."

"Ah." Kyrie blinked, seeming surprised; but then she smiled. "Well, then. Good. I had considered asking my mother-in-law if some of you could stay with her and Ahkshi's father, but this works better, I think. Good."

She looked over her shoulder towards the back of the clinic. "Ahkshi is checking out Amir at the moment. He may be a while ... shall we get that taken care of right away, then? And if Ahkshi decides it's all right to let Amir leave the clinic, we can bring Daeron and Iorlas to join you later on."

"Perhaps not first, but eventually Miyuki is going to need to ask about using the amphitheater," Wren reminded Lin.

"Yes, but there's time for that later," Earendil pointed out. "For now, simply finishing up our business at the inn and getting set up outside the city is all we need to worry about."

Kyrie nodded. "Let's go, then." She turned back towards the back area of the clinic and called out something in the language of the Fire Elves, explaining to Ahkshi where they were going, and then she turned again to the group of travelers and smiled at them. "Shall we?"

"Then off we go," Kyrie grinned. "Come on."

She motioned for them to follow her and led the way out the door.

"So how was your stay at the inn?" she asked as they headed back towards the aforementioned place. "I have to say, I've never stayed there, even before Ahkshi and I were married. No ..."

She turned her eyes towards the sky as she thought about it for a moment, and then she continued. "Once. I stayed there once. Long time ago. The second time I stayed here, when Lara and Khetal came with me. The three of us all stayed at the inn ... until Lara and Cantor married."

She smiled. "Long time ago."

Kyrie smiled warmly. "I'm glad to hear it," she said sincerely. "And overall, your interactions with the people have been pretty good? Iorlas said that it went well at the tailor's yesterday, and Amir is wearing clothes that fit him now ..."

Up the street, the inn came into view. They were nearly there.

"Good." Kyrie was pleased with the news. "I never know how outsiders are going to be treated here. Some people have been treated very well; others not well at all. I also learned a long time ago not to judge based on my mother-in-law's reaction."

She rolled her eyes as she opened the inn door for the group to allow them to go in first.

"Go ahead and start packing up your things," she told them with a nod. "I'll get you all checked out."

Wren was only a few steps behind Miyuki, as she also had to pack her things; and when she and Miyuki arrived at their room, Lancaeriel was already in the process of putting her things into her bag.

"That didn't take long," the former Druidess commented in surprise when her roommates entered the room. "I know the clinic is close, but ..."
