Cady started to open her mouth to ask WHY he couldn't talk about his, er, usual inability to talk, when he asked her if she'd like to go get some spookies. She immediately zeroed in on the refreshment table. Yes, it did look lonely. All that food and no one to eat it. "You have the best ideas. Maybe you can try those sausage things- I think I saw a few people eating them. Pickled sausage has to be better than pickled pasty. Pastry." Without further ado she dropped her hands away and skipped toward the refreshment table, completely abandoning any dancing. She was pretty sure it was some kind of miracle that she had managed to avoid stepping on any toes - his, her own, OR someone else's. She supposed it was a good thing she didn't usually wear shoes. Besides, she was bored of dancing, and didn't see what the fuss was all about. And some small part of her was a LITTLE worried what might happen if her dates saw her dancing with somone else. Whatever. She was pretty sure there were no rules against that sort of thing. She called over her shoulder, "Have you gotten to dance with any of your other friends?" She pointed at the be-tentacled ghoul and the others, who were currently positioned near the refreshment table. It looked like the other ghoul - Riley? - had gotten into the spookies. Cady walked up right next to her and picked up one, sniffing it before taking a bite. So good.

Watching Lizzy a little more, Jericho was about to say something else but paused as he suddenly felt a fairly strong sense of anxiety hit him. He felt nervous and he didn't understand why. Shifting uncomfortably, he looked around. It was then that he heard the shifting of metal, and he saw Mitsu staring at something in particular.
It was Andeon.
The dragon's golden eyes widened for the moment before narrowing into thin slits. A low growl might have even rumbled from within his throat. His hands slowly balled up as he watched the male mindflayer carefully. If he was going to try and start anything, he was going to be on him in a heartbeat.
He wasn't about to let Andeon ruin his best friend's prom if he could help it.
---
Since they were all relaxing right now, Shun was just watching the crowds idly. When he felt something tugging at his sleeve, he glanced at Mitsu and gave her a questioning look. He then followed her gaze towards a male mindflayer..
The dragon had mentioned him before hadn't he?
A quick glance towards Jericho helped confirmed this as the monster looked far less than pleased to see him here. Grimacing, he glanced back at Mitsu, placing a hand over hers to try and settle her.
The reaper doubted that this newcomer would try anything out in the open.

Yea, that'd be 'im, Holly... She snickered to the ghost ghoul, letting it be evident that she'd already known about the little meeting they had. Hey- if West didn't want Holly to know, what better to do than to rub it in? Right ta tha ground I had 'im. The mocking snicker continued. Remembering the situation through Holly's words, the tatzel knew she wouldn't be able to really fight West right here right now.... sigh. She turned back to him when he mentioned the dancing.
Boil, dun think I didn't notice no red headed bird beside me tha whole time... that thar contest.... winning fer yer dance....mighty nice a ya...such 'a fine dancer ya'll are. Maybe yew should be dancin' fer me, eh?
Bide your time, Bide your time...
the boil mentioned "cheating" and a click went off in her head like a twig breaking in half. Dun go cryin' ta folk cuz ya got whipped, boil! I'do it again to. She tilted her head; the ghoul had full intention of getting West back for calling her a cheat twice now.
...then two and two came together...
...Holly... ya came with West?

Danny came to a complete stop so she could think. Yeah, she had a hard time thinking and running at the same time. Problem?
Could you really be alone without being lonely? But that didn't make any sense, being lonely meant that you were alone. Danny shook her head. This was too hard. Too much thinking for a dance!
She just now noticed that Roch was almost at the table already. He was making a huge show of himself, and totally upstaging her!
Stupid Roch had taken advantage of her thoughts! See, this is why thinking was bad. He slammed his hands on the table, clearly winning the race. Ever the sore loser, Danny ran towards him and tackled him, dress and all. Not enough to knock him over, but certainly enough for a rough bear hug! "That's right Roch. I'll be here forever and ever." She giggled and picked up a spookie, "We'll be the greatest club owner ... master ... uhm ... thingies ever!" She threw her spookie up in the air and caught it in her mouth.
Then she picked up a chip and gestured at Roch. "Hey Roch! Go long!" She waved her arm as though she had a bruteball in her hand and she was the star receiver. Receivers were the ones who threw the ball, right?

Tomoko hadn't meant to make it complicated, she just... SHE JUST HAD TO THANK HIM FOR THE DANCE, OKAY?? That seemed like the proper thing to do in her opinion anyways. So there. Not that she had to defend any mental opinion she had. It made it easy to keep things simple when Jove didn't share random thoughts.
Tomoko looked at Jove, keeping her head tilted against his for a while, making a thoughtful churring noise. Hmmmmm.
"We could...go..." she paused, crinkling her nose.
"Oh, I don't know. Do you want to go sit somewhere for a while?" she asked, squeezing the boil's hand and giving him a hopeful look. Maybe? Maybe maybe? Yeah. Diabeetus.
Diabeetus central.
Right there.

Invictus's eyes narrowed, possibly the greatest show of expression outside of his insanity-laced grin from earlier. But this one seemed to be purposeful.
"Your intentions are far less pure, Calder." he spoke slowly, his mind quick to seek out the word he was looking for before he continued to speak the following sentences; "I know of your interest." He made no point of saying what interests he was meaning, but he emphasized that word enough that if Calder had any doubts.. ... ....
well.
Doubting Invictus was not wise.
"Do not think I let go of being offended so easily."

Almost as though the presence of the new Mindflayer called for it the previous song ended, the room falling silence. As Andeon stopped the next song began to play, an almost menacing sound to the first few cords before the lyrics started.

Riley had a cookie in her hands. She was breaking this one into three pieces, and lifted her head up to hand one of the pieces to Jericho. Her face was frozen in the same pleasant expression of content that it had been a moment ago, but the cookie in her hand crumbled as her claws bore into it helplessly. The rest of the cookie suffered a similar fate, as the trickle of crumbs fell from her now clenched hand and pooled in her lap. She stretched her fingers out, forcing them to relax, before brushing the crumbs off of her palms and her skirt.
She heard the growl beside her, and snapped her hand up to rest on Jericho's chest. Her eyes widened, just slightly, and her head turned in a bare echo of a shake.
Not here. She barely whispered to her dragon, before dropping the hand the instant Andeon stood before her.
An insult on my physical appearance. How droll. Riley's voice emitted privately into his mind, as smooth as silk. She didn't sound the slightest bit unnerved to see him at the prom - if anything, she looked quite comfortable, settled on the table amongst her friends. Her hands reached down to clutch the edge of the table, forcing her shoulders up in a shrug. And might I say, your stunning ensemble for the prom looks just marvelous. Were you only allowed one outfit, when they sent you here, Andy? Could they not afford you a shirt, perhaps?
Her eyes crinkled, looking far more complacant and comfortable than she actually felt - but only Jericho could tell the difference.
Hey, everyone? She turned to the table. This is Andeon. He just transferred here from my - ah, from back home. He doesn't have a single friend here yet - let's fix that.
Slowly, she turned her head back to Andeon, and crinkled her face slightly as she held her hand out. A new cookie had taken the old one's place.
Cookie, Andy?

Holly could swear that one of the two was about to hit the other, rules or not. But thank Jack they didn't. She was always up for some fun but this just wasn't the place. Break the tension? "Well, both of ya are better dancers than me clearly." Though that was a single song. She'd danced once this entire thing so far, clearly not enough.
She looked back to West. Clearly from the slight expression change from West, his wings were a secret. Something to poke more fun at later? Yes. "Cheat? Why would Levi cheat?" She eye'd her friend. Her tail did seem a slight advantage true. Swear she was going to get caught in the middle of this. "Why don't ya two discuss it later, not during dance. Ya said this was a fun time, right West?" Fun wasn't watching two people you know almost start a fight. Fun was dessert.
... The ghoul looked away from West and to Levi. "Er, yeah, I'm here with him." Awkward....

There was, of course, the sudden temptation to shove a tentacle so far into the dragon's throat that one might be forced to question both of their sexuality. Were Andeon aware of the human world, the concept of Rule 34 might have even been brought to mind. Thankfully, he was not, and so his brain remained largely unscarred. Thankfully, and aggression towards the agitating creature meant touching him, an act which Andeon had every intention of avoiding if ay all possible. The only hand he wanted to lay on Jericho was a back one, and even that would require hours of scrubbing with hot water until the skin peeled off and he could be certain that not even the slightest trace of red dragon was left on his lovely purple skin.
Oh, but it was so difficult being him. What a gift. What a curse.
He caught the dragon's eyes, narrowed as his own, and one brow rose. A mocking wink obscured one milky sclera, and if Andeon had the lips to blow a kiss, he might have. After all, he had the best protection that Amityville's student body could offer.
He had Riley, and a direct connection to perhaps the only thing the resilient woman feared. Any blow that Jericho landed would only bruise the woman he cared for, and so Andeon stood at ease. Riley's own casualness was reassuring. It told him that she had not yet entirely lost her edge. She was not a lost cause, a simple-minded deserter that he would someday have to rip limb from limb to find all the secrets that she had been hiding.
Sharp claws and strong fingers wrapped around her hand, and the cookie was reduced to messy crumbs. They fell carelessly to the floor, like grains of sand slipping through their fingers as though to remind Riley that her time was running out. The hand was not gentle as it pulled Riley roughly to her feet, their bodies lining up in a tense tango stance. His fingers laced with hers, a deep purple against her striking indigo, and his eyes narrowed. The other hand lifted, and claws traced the curve of her cheek with surprising gentleness.
Oh, Aen'ryliis, he spoke in a private whisper, You do tempt me, but I have something so much... sweeter in mind.
And oh, the music was simply perfect for it.
His gaze shifted to her friends, and there was little of that loathing left to be seen in his eyes. He seemed almost... charmed by the notion. Friends. What a quaint idea. A wink and a nod, before he expressed in a steady tone to them, Sorry ladies, but I'm afraid my first dance is quite reserved.

FLYING?! OH JACK NO NOT FLYING AAAAAAA~
Terror crawled into ever fibre of her little being, and she spent her entire time 'flying' by clinging onto Charlie for dear unlife. By the time she was put down again the terror ebbed, but she was still clearly unhappy...right up until he took her hands and started dancing. His yell made her laugh, and her discomfort melted away entirely.
"Just like in Etiquette class!" The appearance of the male Mindflayer made her pause though, absently shuffling closer to Charlie. Even she felt uncomfortable just by his walking past her!
----
"GOOD JOB, BRO!" Mac yelled right back, laughing the entire time. Oh Charlie, Mac adores you. Forever adores you. He danced with Xiu mostly in silence, but by the time Riley's male half appeared, he was looking more then uncomfortable. Demons everywhere, never not demons. Frowning, he turned his attention to the table, spotting Tess among those still there, still standing near the pair of mindflayers...and decided something, very fast.
"Mouse, thank you for the dance, that was very nice, now...excuse me, please." He apologized, slowing their dance to a halt before weaving through the crowd, catching Tess's arm with one hand, lightly urging her out of the seat...or at least away from it.
"A little crowded here, don't you think?" The Reaper murmured to her, a not-so-subtle attempt to get her to leave the area.

Between Riley's touch and her whisper, Jericho stared into her eyes for a moment before forcing himself to relax. Shifting his wings a bit, he turned his attention towards Andeon for the moment. He said nothing, due to not wanting to snap or anything along those lines.
It seemed that Riley had this taken care of anyway.
Though, then Andeon had to mention a first dance of sorts. Frowning, he shot a glance towards Riley. She wasn't really going to dance with this jerk was she?
--
Shun's gaze shifted over towards Riley as she introduced this mindflayer. Judging the armor, the guy hadn't quite intended to attend prom initially or something along those lines. Aside from that, he wasn't really sure what to make of him just to start off with. He could care less if the guy needed friends really.
The reaper was wary of this newcomer to say the least, but he remained where he was. There was no point for him to get involved right now.

"Go long my a**!" Roch said, still getting his balance from the tackle bearhug. "Chips don't fly properly, Danny! If you're gonna throw anything, it should be a meatball or something!" Which clearly said how well he knew etiquette in formal situations. But he was right, he was positive. There wasn't enough weight on a chip to build up speed! Grabbing a meatball he let it fly, to prove his point. "FOUR!" he bellowed to anyone that might be in the trajectory of his experimental flying meatball.

This was it, he screwed up and he knew it as soon as she asked about dancing more and he had ran for the table without even bother to ask. It was like everything in Joachim's mind stopped and crashed into one another like a stack of music sheets scatter all across the floor. He stood there for what felt like an eternity trying to find the words that he should say his lips pressed in a confused frown.
Merel looked at his face and then pulled on his bangs to bring him back to reality, "ERRRRRRRR........................ I'm sorry!" He blurted out as quickly as he could rubbing his forehead with his fingertips. "I should have asked you..... we can dance more...." he didn't want to but he would as long as she wanted to, it was fault of his not to say no for the most part.

There was the slightest glance downward towards the barefoot girl's feet as Ash took a gentle step into the air, lifting about an inch higher, so she was just that much taller to him. Not that she compared to his height, especially in the shoes, which gave him at least an extra inch. But even without them, the skinwalker was considered tall, a few inches above six foot without anything to assist him. Still, the ghost girl herself was no dwarf, and with that extra inch he found she came up just right on him, Nuk having to tilt his head down just slightly to meet her eyes, instead of having to tuck his chin in like he usually did for ghouls. It was refreshing... and for some reason, it put him even more at ease, as if it was one less thing he had to worry about. You wouldn't believe the horrified gasps and slaps he'd gotten from ghouls who thought he was trying to look down their shirts.
... ok, well... maybe he was, but not all the time!
Meandering back from behind the curtain, Nuk gave the room a slow look over automatically, checking to see if everything was still alright before he turned towards Aislin, placing his hand on her waist. Even as he did so, however, his eyes were elsewhere for a few lingering moments longer, her voice finally bringing him back to the present, where he glanced down at her with a slightly curious look before the words registered. "Uh.. thanks," he replied non-noncommittally, as if he didn't quite agree, "It was really everyone else... I just hosted the thing. As it is, Riley's acting a better host than I am." Spinning her out, he tried his best to dance seriously, pulling her back in to catch her and continue the dance. It was a little rough -- the fact that he was trying actually made it worse, his movements a little jerky and forced, but for the most part he did alright. However, it seemed it wasn't meant to be -- the song changed within a few moments of their dancing, turning to a still quite appropriate song, but far less slow than the song before.
This seemed to be a god-send though. The looser rhythm seemed to loosen up the skinwalker, and he grinned, spinning her a few times, a little faster to pick up the tempo before sliding both hands to her waist, his dancing turning from pretty painful to not half bad.
"You guys should stop putting up songs that are good to sing to -- I'll steal the mic again," he teased, grinning easier now.

The instant the second mindflayer appeared, dressed inappropriately for the prom at that, Tess felt herself tense. She did not want to be here much longer and would have gone to find her date to tell him she was leaving when he arrived in the nick of time! The winged ghoul offered no resistance, letting the reaper boil escort her elsewhere. "Couldn't agree more," she whispered low, hopefully too low for either mindflayer to hear. Most of the people at the table were Lizzy's friends, and while she was sure they were all wonderful, she wasn't completely comfortable around them. Especially when they were paired off.
