gataka Ok, Manga is getting silly x D I have to say, I'm not so keen on it; having the images completely change styles between pages is rather disorienting, and it feels a bit like the story was 'stretched' to take up more pages because of it. It probably doesn't help that the story's not very exciting on its own, and that it's about characters I couldn't care less about - but I think the discontinuity of the art style doesn't help. razz
Quote: Finally allowed to play HoC, I'll do that later, bwehehe *w* Do feel free to post PvP links in here if you'd like; the AI players are set-up such that it's actually rather difficult to get a feel for the game. The tutorial AI appears to be programmed such that he intentionally never gains any points, while all the harder ones just cheat; if you're trying to see how the game actually works, it can make it rather difficult to do... sweatdrop

And that's quite alright; I'd advise waiting until you're "feeling it" anyway, as it's a little hard to get into - if you don't have the patience for it, you probably won't get too far... sweatdrop

I have the patience. Not sure I have the patience to read all the walls you've already written :U

gataka Not sure I have the patience to read all the walls you've already written :U I don't expect you to. I don't really expect them to, either, even though it's obviously more valuable for them. I was feeling especially textmasonish over the course of the beta test, and I thought I had some things worth saying; mind you, I'm not so sure that makes them worth reading. razz
That said, if I can think of anyone who'd actually be interested in hearing what's in them, it'd probably be you... wink

gataka I'm starting to believe your comment about the AI being the wrong way to feel this game : / I'm hoping the existing AI opponents won't be the only way to play; Pan mentioned the idea of having a Faction-based 'campaign mode', but I'm not sure how seriously they're considering that. I think it would add an interesting dimension to gameplay, and would help expanding the story (which is currently a little weak, but could be pretty strong). Part of the reason I've not been playing much lately is that I don't have a lot of interest in PvP and the AI opponents aren't too exciting, so it doesn't leave me with much in the way of options... sweatdrop

Artix Entertainment 10th Anniversary Event - six games worth of event, at least four of which I already play. It seems really strange to think that I've been playing AQ for nearly 10 years by now, because I remember the first time I saw it so well. emotion_kirakira
If I seem a bit scarce for the week, you'll understand why... wink

Red, when you're done ovah there, we need to fight it out. In fact, we should take notes of our thought process, or whatever, + screenshots and do a post-battle report.
I think we could learn interesting things that way emotion_donotwant
edit: I can see it already: Red VS Blue: Freak n'Frog smackdown and then talk way too much. It'll be glorious emotion_kirakira

gataka ...and then talk way too much. That sounds like us. In fact, I'm pretty sure I was the "astonishingly in-depth analysis" from Dev Notice. I suspect Pan was just looking for a nicer way to phrase "Y HE NO STFU," though; as you've mentioned, I was being rather longwinded. redface
Anyhow, yes, certainly. It's worth noting, though, that neither I nor my deck has any experience in PvP; while I've played it a couple of times, the fact that the game relies on predetermined maps has precluded it being 'real experience' - it seems to like to give me the one map I already have memorised. The game plays a bit differently when you know where the VPs are and your opponent doesn't... sweatdrop

Oh yeah that made me roll on the floor rofl But he sounded genuinely...humbled? If that makes sense : / So maps are fixed, as I suspected.... pretty sure I don't like that. I'll learn them and see what that changes before I go around shoutin'.

If that makes sense : / I think I know what you mean, yes; he just has this habit of using otherwise neutral terms as 'compliments', which allows me to interpret them in a fashion that doesn't cause my head to inflate. sweatdrop
Quote: So maps are fixed, as I suspected.... pretty sure I don't like that. I'll learn them and see what that changes before I go around shoutin'. I'd learned that the maps were fixed through PvE, but I had hoped they used a more randomised version for PvP - fighting over 'who knows more maps' doesn't sound very interesting, and especially doesn't sound like that the game is aiming for. The first time I played ranked PvP though, I trounced some poor newbie because I knew where everything was as soon as we started. I don't think it's fun to beat my opponent because I know the map while he doesn't, and I don't think it's fun to lose because my opponent knows it better than me, so random PvP is just a little too risky for me at the moment... redface
