As she approached the gates, Inori noticed something odd. From where she stood a good thirty feet in front of the gates and the abyss that lie beyond it she could see tracks in the snow. The first set of tracks she did not recognize and certainly was not human. The second set belonged to two people though she could not guess anything more from them other than that they were two separate people. Then there was a third set of tracks, this time belonging to an animal of some kind. Though again her lack of experience proved annoying as she could only glean that it was a four legged creature. Waiting for Osa to catch back up she rose to her feet and nodded,"We need to report this to the Kage or someone with some authority. I can only think of two reasons for tracks this fresh to be heading out of the village, either the ones who made them caused the incident, or they are chasing something. Either way they need to know."
Catching up to Inori at the gates, Osamu would scan the area as she said something, but he still had his parents’ deaths weighing heavy on his mind. After about half of her speech, Osamu came back to reality, “Huh? What’s up?” He’d then look where she was looking and see the tracks, “Oh… well.. the thing causing the crazy cold in the dojo, at least as far as I could tell, was this giant thing made out of ice, it wouldn’t have had human like.. or human-sized tracks.” He’d look closer at the three sets of tracks, “I know of one tamer ninja here in the village, Hakanai has some kind of large cat for a partner… but that’s all I can think of that might put any kind of explanations on the tracks, so yea, we should mention these to the ANBU when we report at the Kage’s office.”

As Osa gave his input she nodded but halfway though shook her head," We cant assume its hers. After all it could just be a very large cat or something trying ot escape the cold. For all we know these sets of prints belonged to civilians. But we can let the anbu figure that out." Turning on heel she motioned over her shoulder and dashed off to the Raikage's office.
Listening to Inori’s input, Osamu nodded, Yea, I know we can’t make the assumption, I’m just saying they’re reasonable possibilities. But anyway, yea, let’s head for the office and report.” He’d then turn and take off after the girl, heading towards the Raikage’s office.

[x] Reaching the gates, I took a glance back the direction I'd come from. I couldn't help being worried. After all, the last time I'd left, I came back to chaos, and the clone in the office had been unable to do literally anything besides give orders... Which no one came for. I trusted Wan, but I had no idea what caused the village to be taken over so easily if that trust really was to be placed. Well, as they say, if you want something done, do it yourself. A faint puff of fog bellowed out in front of me as I sighed. It was still cold out, although spring was slowly making its presence known after the storm. I turned back to the men atop the barbican, singling for them to open the gates, and started my journey to the Land of Water.

Karleen arrived at the gates, only to find them locked tight. The woman was surprised, she had never seen another village before, but already she got the feeling of 'Go away'. The young merchant cleared her throat, looking up at the men standing on some sort of guard post. She raised her hands, trying to show she meant no harm. "My name is Karleen Robygen, I'm a merchant from Takumi, come to to try and collect information! I mean no harm, and I could leave my sword at the gate if that would show my words true!" The young female offered a soft half-smile, her eyebrows furrowing together in worry.

At her approach, one of the ANBU standing atop the gates dropped down to meet her, landing silently and standing straight. He wore a white tanuki mask and the typical black coat seen on most of the village's guard. The man spoke in a neutral tone when he responded to her. "Due to recent events, all visitors are required to leave their weapons the guard." He held his hand out expectantly. "Likewise we are required to search your supplies for illegal or dangerous substances." As he said this, two others dropped on either side of her cart, but waited for her permission to make a move. Given they found nothing wrong, they would let her through.
[I'm assuming here that as a wandering merchant you have wares with you. ^^]
With a swish, Karleen pulled her Zweihander from it's sheath on her back and handed it to the guard, along with her kunai. She then move away from the cart to allow the ANBU to inspect it, scratching her cheek. "Sounds fair enough, can't refuse that." Karleen sat against a rock, watching the ANBU as he searched her merchandise. "Know who I should ask for intel? I've never been anywhere other than takumi." The young female smiled a charming smile, trying her best to make sure the ANBU felt at ease; the last thing she wanted to do was to make him angry or suspicious.

[Sorry for the wait. It's been a hectic few days. If I forget to post like that though, feel free to message me and I'll take care of it. That aside, I did mention in my last post that they'd let her through granted they found nothing.]
The tanuki-masked ANBU gave her a sideways glance, or would have if it weren't hidden, taking the weapons held out to him. "Define 'intel'." His words held a hint of bitterness. Did she think someone was going to give away information about the village to an outsider. His gaze shifted away as the other two ANBU stepped away from the cart, and he crossed his arms. "If you're looking for gossip, Edible Creations is always a place to try. Otherwise I can't help you." The man signaled something to the pair, a quick, meaningless wave of the hand, and all three leaped away, taking up their posts atop the barbican. A moment later, the heavy wood-and-steel doors creaked open, stopping at just enough for her and her cart to fit through.
Karleen opened her mouth to reply to the anbu, but he was already gone. She frowned and puffed her cheek, "Fine, be that way Mr. Shinobi man..." With that she walked through the gates, towing her cart behind her. She'd have to stop by the vendors and drop off the merchandise promised before going on her way through the town. She could really go for a drink.

Karleen made her way through the gates with her cart, waving goodbye to the cold-hearted guards that had been so stand-offish with her earlier. She turned on to the road heading back to Takumi, glad to be out of this cold land with it's cold hearted people and be returning home.

Shu was extremely restless. He couldn't rest when they did, he wanted to come back. He couldn't wait. They could tell his antsy and nervous motions that he was very much ready. Once the gates were within his sights, Shu placed all his weight at the front paws but one action, just one, had put the hybrid to a halt. With a frustrated low growl, Shu shut himself up fast. Wan was a higher shinobi and Shu respected the man. But he was ready to see Hakanai. His claws extracted to show one of his many signs of being antsy. The one action? It was Wan. He had motioned for him to stop and stay. Waited, the teenage hybrid looked up at the giant with it's curious mix of brown and blue hues and he waited. His muscles were tensed and his jaw locked. Shu did not know what happened while he was away.

-----{ T }he great bridge of Kumogakure's gates lay behind the small group, but it felt more like a hundred years had passed for the giant. Anger suffused his soul for the third time since coming here, and it felt no better than the first. Silver orbs flickered across the battlements, knowing that while his strength and endurance were beyond a simple human's his perceptions were but that of a man's. As such, he knew that they were being watched and yet he knew not from where. The stupidity of this was not lost on him, nor was the reality that had the fight he'd itched for broken out upon that mountainside he would have needed to do such damage as to bring the mountain down to face them. A "one trick pony", he believed they were called, those with only one shtick to their gimmick. Strength. Damage. These were all he had and against someone with Ninjutsu, or Genjutsu? He would have failed. Reputation alone bought him the time he needed to see these children home, and that terrible fact was not lost on the Jounin. Reckless though his actions were, it was not their action in and of itself that told him he had made a mistake. It was the lack of ability to follow through that truly threatened this recovery mission. -----Allowing the silent moments of anger and resentment to flow through him, the giant finally exhaled softly and watched the steam rise with unfocused eyes. Shu's anticipation and exultation would be cut short with a wave as he knew there was debriefing needed, and he could not risk the lion becoming last in the commotion that was sure to come. Waiting for the other two to approach Wanryoku raised a hand, signalling the ANBU to come to him. A small signal, the waving of a hand, but enough to bring two ANBU to his side in an instant. Odd, to think that these men and women listened without argument while those genin whom he had seen chose to argue. Should they not have learned from their seniors how to treat those of rank? Just thinking about the rebellious natures of those who awaited him almost brought his blood to boiling. Letting it go with another exhalation of steam, he turned to the right where a fox-faced shinobi waited orders. "I want report. Tell me everything." -----Turning to the second as the first closed the distance between them, Wanryoku gestured behind him to where Axel and Soraru would be following. "See to any injuries. They must go to hospital for check." Those were the last of his words as the fox-faced shinobi relayed reports to him in a hurried whisper, words so quiet as to be impossible to hear from more an half a foot away, if that. ----- -----

As wound up and on the edge of fury as he was the giant simply didn't know how he would react to any sort of resistance at this point. Inhaling softly to calm his still roiling blood as he listened, the Adviser turned to the ANBU with a sort of shocked reflex, jerking back and turning with eyes slightly widened. 'D-did I...just....hear that...' The thoughts and feelings rushed through him in a maelstrom that only calmed when the firm discipline of his training clamped down on it and hid it away. There was no time for it, not when the village was in danger. Taking a deep, slow breath, the giant turned to the ANBU and said a few short, curt words. "Get map ready. Bring all squad leaders to me at Hospital. Now." And with that he turned, alacritous movements taking him along faster and further than normal human beings thanks to his enlarged size. -----[Exit] ----- ----- -----
