Emily didn't have time to react. She was swung, and slammed into the mirror with enough force to shatter it. She grunted as she hit it back first, and yelped as her head slammed against it afterwards. She, along with most of the mirror, fell to the ground. Sharp pieces of glass scattered around her, cutting into her knees and arm as she landed on them.
She groaned a little, trying to get her head about her again as she forced herself to sit up again. Blood was trickling down her back from several lacerations cased by the mirror breaking on impact.

Savage walked towards the bleeding form of Emily, and used his foot to flip her over with a kick in the chest. "This ends now."

Emily grunted as she was kicked, landing onto the broken glass on her back again. She glared up at him, teeth bared, then moved to grab the leg he had kicked her with. If she was going to get cut up from glass, might as well make sure she really looked like she got into a fight with glass.
Grabbing his leg, she yanked herself, propelling her legs into the air to try and put both of her heels into his gut. Worse case... he catches her again and she only manages to knock him off balance. At least that's what normally happened if she didn't cripple the other person completely with the move.

Savage did catch her, but only after deflecting the kicks to one side, and following through with his arm in order to wrap his arm around her legs. He then used her own momentum to swing her upwards, using his other arm to support her upper body, and fell backwards as he did so. The end result was them both falling onto their back, Emily having far more momentum upon landing. Vandal rolled through landing, ending on his knees next to Emily's head.
He spared a moment to look at Natalia, then returned his gaze to his surprisingly worthy opponent.

Emily was caught off guard, and had no way to keep herself from being slammed onto the floor. She cried out as her back and head hit the floor hard, bits of glass that had clung to her back crackling as they shattered under her.
She hissed in pain, her back arching as she tried to dull the pain. It was clear that she was momentarily dazed, but ready to snap back into fighting mode. She wasn't one to give in until she physically couldn't continue. And if Vandal didn't give her a reason to stop fighting, she was going to strike again.

Vandal Savage, for his part, was ready to give her that reason to quit. He spun around and mounted Emily's stomach, putting his weight on her diaphragm. Then, he clamped down on her neck, putting pressure on her carotid arteries with his fingers and thumb.
He raised a fist over his head, and said two words. "Give up."

Emily gasped as air left her lungs, and felt his fingers wrap around her neck. Her hands automatically went to try and get some space between his hand and her neck. She closed her eyes and made one attempt to get him off of her. The only way she knew how was to try and wrap her legs around him and yank him off.
But he knew what he was doing, and was pinning her in a way that she couldn't use her legs to grab him. He was too wide, and too far away. Her legs fell back onto the ground. Unless she could strike him, there wasn't much of an option left for her to fight back. And he was keeping his head far enough away from her that she couldn't do that. If she tried to cripple his arm, he'd have more than enough time to strike her.
Unable to do anything without risking more severe damage to herself, she let her grip around Vandal's hand loosen.

He held the grip a second longer, then released her, acknowledging her wordless concession. Standing up, gave her a moment to catch her breath, and her head, while he took a seat on the bed next to Natalia.
"Very well fought," Savage said, looking at the recovering form of Emily, "I'd offer you an official position in my own organization, if it weren't for the fact that I couldn't trust as far as I could throw you."
Then, he turned to Natalia, and asked, "And how did you enjoy that little scuffle?"

Emily groaned and rolled over onto her stomach. Her head down and her blonde hair falling around her. Her back had left a bloody stain on the carpet, and more was still trickling down her back.
Natalia grinned. "It vas... entertaining." she replied, her eyes still fixed on the woman lying on the floor. "Not ze kind of punishment I vould have given her... but I think it vorked just as well." she said, then looked over at Vandal. "And you... are quite impressive. Not only did you manage to take care of her vit little effort... you didn't seem very turned off by my power. Most men find it... frightening."

"Very little frightens me, but I will explain that later," Savage said, turning his attention to the bloody and beaten Emily Dew.
"You never had a chance, Miss Dew," Savage said, calmly, "I was killing people before you were born."

"Then why.... nnnnh.... then why even suggest I fight...?" Emily hissed. She leaned back to try and sit up, her face twisted in pain as the muscles in her back moved. She definitely wasn't going to be able to simply return to work after this. She could feel that she still had glass in her back.

"To make you feel like you had a choice," Vandal said plainly, "And to make you realize that even if you DO try and betray me, I can, and will, kill you."
Savage got up, and walked over to her, knelt down next to Emily, and began pulling glass from her back.

Emily hissed as the glass was pulled from her. She was doing fairly well at hiding the pain, but her arms were trembling. She'd gone through windows and mirrors before... but always with her suit on. This was the first time she'd been vulnerable enough to be cut so badly.
"Wouldn't be the first time..." she muttered to herself, this time taking a language that was spoken only in the most rural areas of china. A language she tended to use when she really just wanted to vent to herself.

Vandal Savage, however, still caught the language; he'd spent some time ruling over that portion of the world a couple centuries ago, as Genghis Khan. Pulling on a piece of glass a little herder than necessary, he said to her Mandarin Chinese, "If you betray me, it will be the last."

Emily hissed again as the glass was roughly pulled from her back, then glared over at Vandal. "Funny... the last man said something similar, yet here I am." she growled. "Is there any language you don't know? Or am I going to have to just vent silently for some privacy?"
