The fox squealed, his ears flat against his head. He struggled, and, placing hiss paws on a nearby chair, he hit the pen nib off the desk. The fox dribbled it along the floor with his paw and backed away into a corner.

Caleb stood. Following the fox into the corner, his slender sheet white fingers came out of the robe. Crouching, he picked up the pen nib. Then he looked at the fox. His hands became hidden in the robes again, as the sleeves tried to seize the fox.

The fox began to shiver, but when Moé entered the room, it instantly ran over to her, whining like a happy dog, its bushy tail wagging. Moé knelt down and produced a plate of gourmet-level food form a portal, and the fox began to eat from it.

Moé tilted her head, and then began to laugh. She stood, and then began to walk away, still laughing for some reason. The fox finished the food, and, with his nose, began to move the plate along the floor towards the kitchen.

Caleb stared back at her with confusion as she walked away. He looks at the fox, concluding that it had to belong to her. He walked back to the leather chair and sat down, being to read again.

Caleb's head came out of the book. Unsure what it was. He placed the book onto the table. He pushed himself out of the chair. Walking out of the study and towards the noise.
