Kei landed softly at the south side of the Sakurabishi sector of Karakura. It was dark and the night was somewhat deep. He looked around and heightened his senses. Of course, hollows are not so high here after all. He took a stroll and looked everywhere his eyes landed. People walked every now and then at the dark streets. He tightened his grip at his wakizashi and albeit he was quite bad at swordplay, he could post a fair battle with Kido (Despite the facts that he knows little).

"Hmmm..." Kei mumbled to himself. He wondered if other Shinigamis will go to this place too.

The space-time anomalies suddenly grew larger in magnitude to such an extent that they have already become easily visible even to those normal civilians that had nothing to do with it. Luckily, it was night time, and most of the general public was asleep so the Shinigami had no worries of this incident leaking out. However, something else would be leaking out instead -- a battalion of what looked like humanoid figures in pure, white armor, stepped out from the rifts and proceeded in an organized manner out into the world. By looks alone, not one of them looked sinister; in fact, one may even describe them as angelic. One thing about them though was that all of them, male or female, wore protective visors around their eyes, but the reason for this was largely unknown.

Marching down the empty streets, they seemed to be following a route towards an unknown destination. The battalion, although noticing the Shinigami stationed there, ignored them since they posed no threat to them or their plans, whatever those plans were. To them, they were simply innocent bystanders who had no idea of the reasons behind their actions, but seeing as they were just bystanders in their eyes, they felt no need to talk to them as well. The Shinigami were not part of their orders, but should they engage them in combat, they were obliged to fight back.

After what seemed to be forever, the battalion of white armored beings stopped. All of them fell eerily silent, not even so much as making the simple sound of breathing, as if they were waiting for something or, at the very least, scanning the entire area. Suddenly, they parted from the center, leaving only a single humanoid figure in the middle while the rest formed a circle around it. The figure in the center was different from all the others in the sense that the figure had long, flowing hair of red and it was apparent from the curvature of the armor that the thing was female.

Indecipherable words filled the air as the sound of chanting resonated throughout the entire area. Again, another space-time anomaly occurred. Although this was far smaller than the one from before, it was far more concentrated as if it was summoning something specific. A solid object soon peaked out of the space-time anomaly, accompanied by several bolts of energy. It made the entire area feel as if they were in a bad lightning storm, but strangely, nobody seemed to hear the thunderous sounds coming from whatever it was that they were summoning.

While the figure in the middle was busy with summoning the object, the others around it pulled out magnificent-looking weapons that looked like the result of a spear, a lance, and a machine gun put together. They went into a defensive stance and their armors that were once pure as white changed color into red. From the looks of it, they were protecting the girl in the middle from whatever that may come out from the shadows.

Kei shook his head in the shock when he saw the humanoid figures. It was something he head never seen before. He was stupid; he was utterly stupid. At least, before going here, he could have asked for someone to accompany him. He was foolish to leave Sereitei without even letting his captain or fellow Shinigami that he's leaving. How foolish indeed...

And he was dumbfounded when he saw the female with the long, crimson hair. He didn't know what to think. He immediately dashed to one of the bushes and hid himself, inspecting the event. He did not know whether he'd be amazed or nervous, for the anomaly was scary and at the same time wondrous. He gripped his wakizashi tighter and gave the group a stronger look.

How foolish of him indeed...

The knights in the Red Battalion sensed their comrades from the Blue and Green Battalions engage in combat with outside factors. Although they want to help out and assist their comrades, they knew that they had a job to do and just trusted in their comrades' abilities. They went through so much together so they knew just how well they fought. However, these knights saw all their comrades not just as comrades, but more like family and it was natural that they were worried. Even so, the mission was far more important, so even if it pained them, they had to stand guard here. It was for the best and it was for the sake of this world too.

In their duties, they quickly sensed a presence near them, but it was not hostile or anything, so they just left it alone. The knights knew that their main objective was to simply do their job there and nothing else. Causing senseless fighting was not part of their plan, but if an outside factor attempts to interfere, then they have no choice but to deal with it, but only when it becomes a threat to their mission and nothing else.

The red humanoid figures looked at the skies as if they sensed something. And though Kei did not know what the cause is, he suddenly felt that he was sorrounded by glares in his sorrounding. He trembled. And with a stronger pull of courage in his chest, he skipped out of the bush and faced the unknown creatures. He trembled. But he did not falter: it was his task to investigate and from what he had been observing from now on, this event was not good. Of course, it would have taken common sense to know that.

He unsheathed his wakizashi and aimed at the figures. How foolish of him: one part brave and three parts fool; just like in the movies. He tried suppressing to smile and focused on the figures. He was scared but it did not matter to him. It must not matter to him. It was an event that threatens humans, Shinigami and maybe even other beings. Goodness, if only he knew what is happening.

"Stop! I, Kei Aoi, is hereby arresting you for causing space-time anomalies in Earth! I order you to stop this at once." He yelled at the top of his lungs and in the mightiest tone he could ever pull to himself that moment.

But they still continued. They did not even bothered to stop even in a second to hear his words. They ignored him. And at that moment, he knew that they don't consider him to be a threat to them. It hurt his pride but he know what must be done. These beings are doing something that even the Gotei 13 doesn't know; heck, it could be an apocalypse-bringer weapon of some sort.

He gripped his wakizashi tighter. "This is your last warning, I will proceed to aggressive measures to stop that ominous activity! Once again, stop!" He yelled again.

But nothing happened. And that very moment, Kei made a strong sprint and made a strong slash at one of the humanoid's waist (As it looks to be). He looked back and saw that the humanoid's arms he attacked was outstretched as if he tried to hurt him. He took a strong sigh and looked at where he tried cutting at. No damage. No sign of cut at it. No wound nor blood appeared.

But all of the sudden, blood burst from Kei's shoulders and an overwhelming pain took over his mind. He let out a strong cry as he fell at the ground in a kneeling position. He tried gasping for air but a cutting sensation seem to spread all over his body; it felt as if he was butchered and cut to pieces and then attached back again. He looked at the figure's outstretched hand and saw red liquid dropping from it.

What will he do?

Kei tried his best enduring the pain that continuously tortures him. It was a set of five long slashes at his shoulder and is bleeding heavily. Oh, if only he had studied more and trained better in the Fourth Division, he could have healed himself in no time. But, fate seemed to have played a trick on him that day because everything seems so... ironic.

But he paid it no attention further and gained his composure once more. He pointed his wakizashi at the knights and suddenly made a strong sprint. He directly appeared at the knight's back and slashed his sword at it. No damage done. He was again shocked, wondering what could hurt the humanoid.

But it hit him before he realized it coming. The weapon of another humanoid struck him so hard in his right rib that all his breath quickly rushed out and made him to gasp for air. But it did not end there; the next moment, another swing of their strange weapon was about to hit him when he pointed his finger at it. "... Sho!" He managed to say and a sudden burst of force erupted from his hand and hit the weapon. Due to the force of the Kido, it flew in the air and made one knight weaponless.

And the suddenly, another strong blow hit him in his left shoulder and sent him at the ground. He immediately knelt because of the impact and endured the pain. When another strong force erupted in his stomach and sent him spinning in the air. He landed several feet away from the circle of knights.

He groaned and was now breathing and coughing blood.

The space-time anomaly soon grew to a much larger size than before as the object that was being summoned into the world made half of its body visible. From the looks of it, the object was a gigantic crystal obelisk with a height of about 50 feet and a width of 25 feet, although one can deduce that its true size was twice that. At once, the summoner's voice grew even louder, causing the knights around her to act more defensively, but still retaining their roles and the main objectives in their mind. Their mission was not to kill; their mission was to only do what they were instructed to do.

Kei slowly stood up and looked at the skies. An enormous obelisk is now appearing from the space-time anomaly. It looked like it was mid-way of its process so this disturbed Kei greatly. The summoner was now chanting louder from before and the knights stood around her in a more orderly and defensive position. They were just warming up.

But Kei was not. He is brutally injured. His right shoulder is slashed nearly enough to take his right arm off his body and his rib is now aching so bad that he found it hard even to just breathe. He was now in a very difficult position. Though he could still make another dash and possibly hurt a knight, there was no gurantee that he'll not be hit again and get spinning in the air. The pain was all over his body and sadly, it doesn't even ease for even a second.

He doubted. He doubted to proceed further in stopping their actions. This event requires serious attention. Goodness, he even hoped that the Captain-Commander to appear immediately and bit these things off to pieces. But... wishful thinking indeed.

Oh, once again, he said to himself: how foolish of him indeed.

With one, final roar of thunder, the giant obelisk fell through the dimensional hole and touched the ground, but nobody had expected it to land so silently. It embedded itself onto the ground, hulking over the town like an ancient monument in the days of old wherein structures like this were perceived to be things that brought about great fortune or great calamity, depending on the people who used it. Then, immediately after the obelisk had secured a firm hold on the ground where it stood, the structure faded from sight as if it had never even existed and even the ground where there was supposed to be a giant hole made by the 100-foot crystal obelisk when it fell disappeared. However, unknown to everyone, it was still there, protected by a high-level dimensional distortion spell.

"Thanks, Green Brigade, but we're done here too -- IMPLANTA has been successfully summoned. Red Brigade out," the female in the middle reported in before quickly chanting a spell. White light enveloped every knight there, even the injured ones, where the light acted like a spell which no weapon or attack can ever break -- an ultimate barrier if one will call it. "We're heading back now. The mission was a success," the female knight radioed in once more before everything faded into white for a moment, allowing the knights to vanish into thin air while the space-time anomaly, too, disappeared. The only evidence, aside from the hidden obelisk, that the knights were there were the Redeemer units that some shinigami were able to take from them during the course of their engagement.

Kei fell on his knees and held his right shoulder. It hurt a lot. He was still unable to process in his mind about the escaping knight. He was mad at himself; he did nothing to even delay whatever they were doing. The obelisk landed on the ground smoothly, like no one was there to stop it from happening. He felt so useless and weak (Well, he is weak, after all) but never in his life he felt so miserable. What will he report in the Fourth Division Captain about he observed. And the thought of him returning in the barracks bleeding heavily is more like walking humiliating yourself.

He coughed blood. He must get back to the Fourth Division and regain his health but...

He coughed again. Damn... Why does things here look a little blurry and I feel so lightheaded?

((Entrance from Karakura's outskirts.))

Appearing in the area of the disturbance within town, Jan stopped his Shunpo right where the obelisk should have been. One Shinigami, one weapon to retrieve. Should be easy enough. "Hey, Shinigami! I'm here for healing and debriefing... And damn, do you need it!"

Approaching the wounded Shinigami, Jan adjusted the goofy green plush octopus on his head. A weapon of the knights was tucked into the belt of a plaid green and red night robe, alongside a katana and wakisashi. On his opposite hip was a battered bag bearing the insignia of Squad 4, although it was much older than any bag belonging to an in-service healer. Opening and reaching into the bag, Jan rummaged around until he pulled out what seemed to be a couple of ointments and some gauze.

Kneeling by the Shinigami, Jan twisted off the cap of one bottle while examining his new patient's wounds. "...Kind of a deep cut, but still an easy fix. Ya got a bruise here too, but there's not a lot I can do about that... Anyway, brace yourself. This'll sting like a b***h, but it's necessary."

Dipping some of the bottle's contents onto his right fingers, Jan worked the gen into a liquid and used charged some energy into his left hand. The energy caused his hand to glow blue, and crackle with electrical energy. With imperceptible speed, Jan thrust his palm against the Shinigami's forehead and delivers a stunning electric shock. "Sorry, buddy, but this is just to make both of our lives easier. It'll make sense in the end."

Jan's electricity would hurt for a short while, but like an injection, the pain would quickly subside. The energy went straight to the Shinigami's brain and nervous system, stunning his movements and numbing his senses. Jan had effectively administered anesthetics that kept the patient conscious while he got to work.

Moving the Shinigami's robe with his left hand to expose the wound, Jan took a quick look. With the liquid in his right hand, Jan began to disinfect the wound... If the Shinigami were able to see Jan's supplies, he would realize that they were simply spiritualized rubbing alcohol and ointment for human wounds, available from any pharmacy. As he finished the first step, Jan charged more energy into his left hand and drew a line on each of the five slashes with it, sending electricity in.

"This burst of electricity will speed up the growing of your tissues, and the ointment I'm about to apply will be hastened by it too. Your arm will be ready for action in only a few hours with my techniques," Jan said as he began rubbing the creamy ointment in his hands. Quickly working it into the wounds, Jan then shook his hands in the air behind him. With more energy sparking from his hands, the excess liquids were flung far off, in a fins mist.

Pushing the wounds closed one by one, Jan drew in electrical stitches for each wound before covering them all with a gauze wrap bandage. "...And the electricity this time will use the electricity in your nerves to hold the wound closed. The small nerves should be re-attaching themselves now, so just relax for five minutes before you move that arm."

Waiting a minute more, Jan sat next to the Shinigami and spoke while his electrical anesthesia wore off. "You came alone, huh? You did alright, disarming one of those guys. Squad 12 is collecting the weapons we've obtained as both a precaution and for reverse-engineering. As soon as I get you with the rest of the Shinigami, we can get your name and other info so that it can be returned to you whenever Maxi's done. ...You should be able to move and speak now, so tell me what happened here."

Everything from that moment on (From the moment the knights disappeared) seemed blurry. His eyes also began to droop and close by itself and due to Kei's knowledge about being wounded heavily and its effects, he tried to 'stay awake'. He dropped his wakizashi and slowly sat at the ground, taking short breathing procedures. Oh, thank goodness for the Fourth Squad basic teachings.

And it was also at that very moment (As it looked like because Kei was now beginning to lose the perception of time) when a man came to his side and began doing things. It was not clear to him as he was either mumbling things or shaking his head to stay awake. However, though conscious, everything seemed so chaotic and confusing, as if the screen is mixed and the colors of everything is scattered. He didn't know whether he'd be grateful for the man because he was obviously helping him albeit him being groggy or he'd be amazed because he's a Shinigami and the man helping him is an unknown figure whether he's a Shinigami, Hollow Arrancar or what. But one thing though, he owed him.

All of a sudden, a set of pain surged throughout his body. He tried not to scream and kept it to himself. A little moment passed and it stopped. He took a sigh and looked at his saver. How ironic, a Fourth Squad Division member is being helped instead of giving help.

"...You should be able to move and speak now, so tell me what happened here." The man said albeit not clear. His face and clothing does look weird but he did not know whether his eyes is messing with him or not.

"Red Knights... success... obelisk... gone, gone now." He blurted out. "One... weapon... there..." He added and pointed at the former direction of the knights. And far away from them is the large strange weapon the humanoid owned. It was the one that fe sent flying out of the enemy's hands.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 12, 2010 12:35 am

"Hmm... Yeah, I figured that they succeeded here too. Ah, well...We did gain one more weapon." Jan got up and stuck the dropped weapon into his robe belt alongside the one he already had. "Anyway, I guess you're still a bit groggy from blood loss...I might have to carry you to our rendezvous myself. You think you're gonna be able to move quickly like that, or call for a gate to open here?"
