Well... yeah... I'm a savant in the arts of High Procrastination
My family isn't all that intellectual... or at least not so much as I've managed to develop. My parents graduated from the same college I'm currently at, but their academic skills don't really go past that.
My sister got enrolled to a WAY better high school and basically has taken either my equivalent courses or, in several cases, much more advanced stuff.
Their knowledge is somewhat limited, I'm the more general scholar in the family. Since I enjoy science, I'm constantly watching documentaries, History is yet another of my fields and History channel isn't safe from me either.
I'm actually the only one in the entire family who learns for its own sake. I can talk about astrophysics, medicine, history, philosophy, biology, and so on without much problem. when teachers explain, I usually tend to go 'Oh... that makes sense' and I usually get by because I can 'see' the stuff actually unfolding.
This is probably a factor why I started to fail with my more advanced mathematics: I couldn't see the equations unfold and interact, unlike things such as molecules and whatnot.
My family usually tends to listen to me lecturing them about what's happening, how things work, why it's happening, and all that jazz.
As for work... I usually finished my classwork early and finished the homework before the class ended. If they were all lectures, I'd give the teacher my paper before school ended.
If he gave us stuff to take home, or if I got distracted and didn't do it in school... they wouldn't get done, either. That's mainly why I'm mostly averaging 'C'. I procrastinate like there's no tomorrow... for example, it's almost 4am and I'm still here.
A professor called me out in front of the class, "Listen, you're one hell of a brilliant kid... you're just equally lazy."
You'd think that might get me to work a little harder... It did for like... 15 minutes, then I called it a day.

Both my parents have taught classes at the university. Both are quite smart, but my Dad's the scholar. Ask him anything, and he'll probably know. His best subjects are math and sciences, but he's very well versed in history as well. If I need any help with the theory of things, I ask him. And even though he's great at math, he likes to get into how the formulas were derived and who thought of it and how it has evolved over time and basically I just don't want to waste an hour on each 5 minute problem.
My brothers are the really smart ones, but I'm good at analysis. Taking apart books or movies and looking deeper behind motivations.. that kind of thing. In other words, bull shitting. hehe. So I excel at language courses and any ones that need essays where they do well at equations.
I can understand that. Last year I had a 92% in my social studies class, then I skipped the class time for 3 projects, didn't hand them in, and ended up with a 70%.
I love theoretical science, but if math gets involved or specific terms need to be memorized I get annoyed.

If you hand in your assignments several weeks after the session/semester over when they were originally given out several weeks before the due date, then yes, Nadindel, you've topped me. I'll give you the crown and you'll be entitled as the King of Procrastinators. XP
It happens a lot. Most geniuses are lazy. My brother is a bright person, he can excel in any subject if he tried. But nope, he decides to be lazy. Even if he half-asses his assignment, he'll still get a B. I, on the other hand, have to work twice as much as he does to get a B. X_x;;
And my parents barely have an education.
On the side note, I love music, however such career does not bring a lot of income, unlike in the Middle Ages; bard lied through their teeth and were able to earn a good income! Bloop!

My friend's sister had a FULL scholarship to school if she went into engineering. She went into Choir instead.
Well, the reason most geniuses are lazy are because they were never challenged. They never had to work hard, never mind make a habit of it. The school system ruins their potential. Sigh.
I once negotiated doing my project orally instead of doing it in writing after I had failed to turn it in. I then skipped the day I was supposed to present it. Oops.

Wow, I guess that's what she really wanted to do? o.O
Yeah, that's true XD.
Haha yeah, I never handed in two-three 10 pages essays and the term paper that was a compilation of those three essays. I needed to hand in everything to pass the class AND get my college diploma. In the end, I managed to pass the class. >_>;; I neglected with handing my term papers in college. I was lucky enough to get the passing grade though. Of course, I got screwed over and paid dearly for it in University. XD;;

Alright, I'm off to bed. I have to work tomorrow.
My lineart's looking nice.. so nice that I don't think I can color it. Which sucks, cause I've been meaning to color SOMETHING. Ah, well.
Scholarship applications tomorrow. And Work. Sigh.
G'Night all!

I'm actually very good at analysis... I'd only found that out only recently when I was talking with a professor about his improvised experiments and my interpretations of the lab results. I'm always looking at it from every angle and learned to anticipate coutner-arguements, any alternative explainations and how to respond to them.
I actually like it when professors take the time and explain who came up with this, why, how, and all that. I've always thought of the university as the center for universal knowledge and I plan on learning universally. Puerto Rico's middle class, from where I grew up tends to admire and look up to the mainland US.
It's a small shadow of its culture. That's why I started to pick up books like the complete stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe, medieval fantasy and study their writing and sort of teach myself more advanced english. That ends up with me now knowing s**t when some friends of mine on the internet helped me that last mile, speaking with the technical stuff, and I'm like 'But... I don't know what a predicative nomi-something is...'
I still don't understand any grammar terminology, but I managed to evolve my skills with writing and expression on my own.
When it comes to breaking down books, movies and looking behind motivations, I'm marginally skilled. I can usually look at these things from an analytical perspective, but there are many details that can pass by unnoticed. But I've noticed that I'm getting better at it since I started my interest in philosophy.
Pi: Well, several of my high school teachers gave me the opportunity to hand in those missing assignments by the note evaluation at the end of the final exams, but I was even too lazy to bring it in THEN! That cost me with a D twice... had to go through summer school to bring it up to a B. And that's because I got along with the teachers so well and they never gave out homework, only practice papers. They asked me 'Wait... why are you here, again?' like... every day I was there! xD

XD yeah, cost me some D but mostly Fs. That's why I've been trying to fix my bad habits.
With that said, I have to get going and finish my assignment ^__^ Take care Nadindel... looks like your 'sugar rush' is coming back! LOL <3

I once asked my math professor why he was teaching math since he proved he knew a lot.
"I'm a lazy intellectual" -_- Oh Matt. I think my class was the only one who could address him by first name.
