Michael chuckled. "Well that is why I've brought you here. We can walk and chat, maybe take a break. I do think you'll never have felt more alive."
They went down the sidewalk and entered through the metal gates, onto the path lined on either side with grass and a few sparse trees. More importantly, there were flowers and greenery everywhere.
"I do have some good news for you."

Lissie still couldn’t believe they were out among living people without getting stares or scaring them! The flowers had Lissie’s attention almost at once. “They’re beautiful,” she said. “Good news?” She looked at Michael and smiled. “What is it?”

"I spoke to Tobias. He said that we were welcome to a garden in his yard, but that his wife also gardens and the pool takes up a lot of space. Dari offered the same, though he and Cody have no plans for the back yard as of yet. I wasn't certain what you would be more comfortable with, so I thought I would ask you first. Either way, you can have your garden."
Gardens here were nothing like the size or grandiosity of gardens from their time, but perhaps with some spirit magic it could be worked.

Lissie was quiet for a long time before slowly turning and wrapping her arms around Michael. A garden! She’d wanted one since they’d found her, and now... “Your friends are so kind,” she said. “We could have a small garden in Toby’s yard, if you’d like.”

Michael laughed with surprise when Lissie hugged him, but then returned the hug. She really was mightily beautiful, wasn't she? Her eyes were such a stunning blue, and her smile was so sweet. His grin turned to a gentle smile himself, and he nodded. "I will surely let him know."

“What would you like to plant in our garden?” Lissie asked, taking his hand. She watched as their hands swayed slightly. “What’s your favorite kind of flower?” He was well versed in flower meanings, at least, she remembered how he’d called out her favorite rose.

"Oh, I don't know. I like them all. Perhaps on the way home we can stop at the store and look through some, how does that sound?" He gladly took Lissie's hand and held it softly. "Some make me more nostalgic, some are more meaningful. They're all beautiful. Even the dandelions are beautiful."

HQ has been called; thirty people had gone missing between two cities in Ireland. They had little in common, apart from their age range; late twenties, early thirties, and their jobs. Each missing person had been unhappy in their career, and had one day while at work, gone missing. Each had gone missing during a fifteen minute break, but they’d been reported missing at different times.
The case manager had been almost frantic as he requested people to meet him in a meeting room. He figured it was Fae, but what if it was something more? Far themselves could be dangerous, but could be reasoned with on a good day; especially now that they had a Fae ambassador.
He called Lori personally. “Agent Y? Yeah. I’m going to need your help.”

To get a call from Ireland was not the most unusual. His rank, language skills, and even his species played into a specific subset when one considered the profusion of old-fashioned fae in Ireland. The name on the caller ID was even familiar.
"Nicholas!" The man on the other end of the line didn't sound right. "What's the trouble?"

“Thirty people have gone missing in the last few weeks, we’ve been trying to keep an eye out because it seems to be stationed right between two cities. Others have gone missing, but those are few and far between, and we don’t think they’re related. They’re all around the same age, thirty, give or take a few years, and they were all reportedly unhappy with their career choice before they disappeared. We think it’s fae. But I’d like to get you and a team over here?”
He set down his coffee mug and took the phone in his hand. “Honestly, I don’t think we can manage this case on our own.”

"Is it an area between two cities, or occurring in both?" Lori asked. He was already taking notes, scrawling whatever he could on a pad for reference later. His memory was no Dari.
"Sure, of course. is there foul play potential? Do you want us to bring our fae ambassador?"

“Occurring in two cities,” Nicolas clarified. “No foul play expected, we haven’t found any trace of these people. No credit card has been used and they left all their belongings. Not even a cellphone has been powered up.”
“Please do. I’m sure these entities can be reasoned with.”

Lori let a long breath escape from his lips. Yup.
"That certainly sounds fae."
Plans were made for a team to arrive, and by the end of the next week the usual crew was on-board. They arrived at Ireland HQ to warm greetings, and the trio were led to meet with the case manager for their new, possibly-fae kidnapping scheme.
Toby had felt strange on the trip over, being without Dari, but he had already called the men and his son once and was feeling better. If Dari could go into danger without him, he could certainly do some basic investigation alone.
When they made it to the proper room, Lori beamed. "Nick! You look like shite."

It has been strange on the plane without Dari, but Cody had had such a difficult time with Mikey during their last mission... Maia hoped it went better this time. She had a lot more faith in Dari’s babysitting abilities than his fiancé’s.
She’d never been to the Irish HQ, and found it interesting how alike they were.
“Hey! So do you!” Nick laughed and gave Lori a playful punch to the shoulder. He seemed full of nervous energy. He offered Lori a folder. “We found video,” he offered. “These people left alone. Or not.” He offered Lori a printed still.
“See that? Something tried to blend in but they didn’t get it quite right. They’re not entirely invisible.”

Lori laughed and accepted the jeer, but he could see that Nick was nervous. It would be a jerk move to point it out. The transition to Almost Completely Business began as the still was handed over. Lori's smile fell a bit and he inspected the shot.
"Did your people run this through? Definitely not a glitch?" Of course things didn't generally glitch like that, not in the shape of a person just barely hovering between vision and invisibility. it could happen, though, with shadows or after-images. "Do you have the video? Or t least a few frames back and after?"
