Nick was looking around when Rhapsody asked him "I don't think I do the only reasons I can think of are the woods are different and aren't pines the only one's with pine cones?" Nick was looking down to make sure he didn't step off the trail it was pretty thin, and he was glad Rhapsody was there otherwise he would probably have no clue on how to get back.

"The easiest way to tell is the needles. Fir trees have single needles, often shorter then a pine, that attach directly to the branch. A pine tree's needles come in groups of two or three that are attached to each other at the bottom."

Nick nodded "Ahh see I wouldn't have though of that." he started to laugh as he continued to follow Rhapsody carefully up the trail.

Rhapsody picked a blade of grass and started to make whistling calls on it. Before too long, they spotted a doe.

Kayla had just noticed the time and it was getting kinda late. the only person left in the kitchen was Selina so she said good bye and headed home. when she got there her mom was cleaning up dinner. hi mom! hi hon. did you happen to ask Remus how it went with the police? no i didnt see him yet. ill ask him tomorrow. wheres Pres? i think hes watching tv in the other room. do me a favor and see if he needs anything. Kayla nods and goes into the living room. hey Pres hows it goin? as good as it can be when your in a neck and back brace need anything? nah im good. Kayla headed upstairs to work on the work she missed when they were in Cali.
((i gotta go to religion rolleyes be back in about 3 hours if you count dinner and homework sad ))

Nick stopped and tried to remain motionless and quiet as the doe appeared he sat down quietly on a nearby rock slowly so as not to startle the creature.

Rhapsody pulled out a small salt lick from her pocket (you know, the kind you would hang in your pets cages. She set it down near her and backed a few feet away, where she crouched down. She continued to make calls on the grass whistle.

Nick watched as the doe seemed to come closer and closer he followed Rhapsody's movements and crouched down further he was somewhat amazed at the skill that she was using the grass to whistle with he had seen kids to it before, but the way she did it made it sound nice not like a broken car horn.

As the doe edged closer, Rhapsody stopped blowing on the whistle. Cautiously, the doe bent her head down and began to lick at the salt.

Nick watched carefully trying not to make any noise he almost stepped on a twig he moved his foot quickly to avoid it.

The deer lifted her head at the quick movement and bounded away through the forest without making a sound. Rhapsody turned to Nick and smiled as she piked up the salt, "Well, that's not something you see every day. Just wait till we get to the end of this trail. I'm sure you'll like it." They continued on for a while. Every now and then Rhapsody would stop and point out something of interest, or give Nick some little fact. When they came to a bed of large clover (each individual leaf is one to two inches wide) she stopped again and began to pick some of the largest ones, popping a few leaves into her mouth. "You really should try some. They're really good."

Nick looked amazed he had never seen anything like this he took one of the leaves and ate it a look of satisfaction came across his face "Mmm these are good." he smiled at Rhapsody as he began to eat a few more.

((just so you know, they taste kinda like green apples.))
"Heh, well, now if you ever get lost in the forest, you know at least one thing that's safe to eat. We'll make a forester out of you yet. Come on, lets get going," she said as she took a few steps farther up the trail.

Nick ran to catch up when he did he continued to look at their surroundings "Do you hike up here a lot?" he looked over at Rhapsody.
