Ertai Vexic
My brand of psionics involve me manipulating every aspect around me, thus giving me a self created world. So if I manipulate X electrons or X wave lenghts and measure them in a way where I can source and track any form of outside manipulation or manipulation involved which would cross through thoes X areas, than by the speed of my psionical process I would infact beable to counter and manipulate the outside source quicker than the attacker. This works both ways with someone who is more advanced than me. Its a battle of wits and mistakes, the only way to beat a psionic person like me is to fight back with more psionics and try to get me to make a mistake, otherwise it could go on for days. My attempt at paraphrasing:
"It is my will, thus it becomes reality."
In the very basest sense, but truth nonetheless. Your brand of psionics revolves around using force of will to reshape matter and redirect energy.
Despite that in a combat situation it is clearly playing the game of "who has the bigger gun", I'd have to say that my single largest beef with the system you run on is that in theory you're using force of will (thought) to perform complex actions faster than simple (or reflexive) thoughts can process. Sort of like getting your computer to do a full virus scan before you release your mouse button from the initial click.
As for the rest of it, and for my specific distaste for Psionics in general, I refer to your sentence above:
"the only way to beat a psionic person like me is to fight back with more psionics"
I am a firm believer in 'Roleplaying is for everyone', and that every system that you make for your characters to run on should adapt to the systems of the people around you, and not force them to adapt to yours. In a closed RP it would work, but in an open one where people have characters of all types from all ways of life, it's really just sort of a low blow to say "the only way to fight me is to be exactly like me".
On a side note, I salute you, for you were completely civil for two posts in a row when I started writing this. I don't mean it as an insult but I think that's the most I've ever seen from you. I'd say "you proved me wrong" but I knew you had it in you. Just need to avoid all pissing contest topics and move on to hard 'facts' of things where everyone can more or less agree.
