*She steps up to Cora so they're a mere inches apart, but doesn't lift a hand to her. She smiles, as calm as Cora is upset.* My, but you are self-righteous. Best be careful of that *she warns, almost kindly* You may find that it can cost you much more than your life.
*she tilts her head toward Tavin again and continues breezily* Take a look at that blood when you have a moment. I'm not sure what traits might still be detectable in this place, but I might be interested in hearing your opinion on it, next we meet.
*and then she turns and strolls over toward the door*

Cora... who says she won't get punished. Don't you think there are those in her time that feel as you do in yours? Simply put, we are not the ones to judge. You don't have to like what she's done, but don't condemn her for it, or you would have condemned me as well.... Before I'd realized how terrible what I had done was.

I DON'T like what she's done, and while she's still barbaric enough to continue that kind of behavior, I refuse to look at her! To breathe the same air as her! And that's ALL I can do about it, right? That's all I have left of the power over my own existance, isn't it? Or do I even have that?

The blood on her hands... reeked of magic. Magic of an evil purpose. Magic meant to kill and destroy. Melliandra killed the person who was weilding that magic. And in doing so.. who knows how many lives she may have saved.

:::Cora put her hand to her head. She once understood this sort of thing. It made very much sense, mathematically. One person dies versus lots of people die. But it no longer felt that simple:::
Is that right? I mean, who was SHE to judge? Are you really supposed to take anyone's life? Even if it means indirectly saving others?

I don't know. I don't think even God knows. But I do know this. I don't want to kill again. I rebelled from Heaven to stop.... But if it saved my family... or my friends.. I would kill again to protect them. To keep them safe

There are a great many things out there, Cora, that are much more powerful than I. And a good many of them are malevolent. If given the choice, I wouldn't. But if the only option was to kill or see those I live die... For me that choice is easy to make.
