Hmmm, I've got a Superman question, and if I recall, some of you know quite a bit about Supes.
I've never been a huge DC fan. Never read the comics. Most of my Superman knowledge is from the old Superfriends cartoon (long, long, long ago), the first few Superman movies (also long, long, long ago), and more recently, The Adventures of Lois and Clark (only long ago...) and of course, Smallville (which I love!)
Last night's episode of Smallville brought in Myxlplck (Is that how it's spelled?) Now, everytime I've ever seen Myxlplck, in my limited experience, Superman always beat him by tricking him into saying his name backwards. Stream tells me that that is the way Myxlplck is beaten and sent back to his own dimension. So I was expecting to see how they'd trick him this time.
But they did something different. Instead of sending him back to his own dimension, they used sub sonic sounds to interfere with his powers and basically stripped Myxlplck's powers, but not banishing him. I'm not going to go into how Clark and Chloe found the information. But my question is...
Is how Myxlplck was defeated in Smallville a tactic that was used by Supes at any time? How canon is this tactic? Or could it just have been a plot twist to keep Myxlplck around until his powers return?
I do acknowledge that Smallville isn't following strict DC canon, but it's still entertaining.
