Mr. Xael walked past Superio and Miaka... then a scythe appeared in his hands and he swung it at them.
Superio barely had time to get out of the way. He accidently tripped and fell, Miaka landing on top of him.
Miaka quickly got up and looked at Mr. Xael. Her face was a little red.

Kysha yawned in her sleep and wondered what was happening to her friends.

Superio got to his feet... and started backing away fearfully from Mr. Xael when he recognized the scythe.
Miaka wondered why Superio was backing away.
Mr. Xael smiled, "So, the boy who escaped... too bad it won't stay that way for long."

"Boy who escaped?" Miaka said.
Mr. Xael ignored Miaka and smiled as he drew a symbol in the air with his fingers.
Superio tried to take another step back, but couldn't move. "s**t s**t s**t..." he said as a runic symbol appeared on the ground around his feet.

Kysha felt the presents of magic, she opened her eyes and took flight "What's happening" she asked herself.

Miaka got between Mr. Xael and Superio, "What are you doing!?"
Mr. Xael hit Miaka with the flat side of the scythe as he approached Superio, sending Miaka into a wall.
Superio's eyes grew wide as he tried to move.

H-help! Superio thought back, too scared to think of anything else.
Mr. Xael raised the scythe and swung it down at Superio.
Miaka got in the way and grabbed the scythe, struggling to keep it from hitting Superio.

Kysha understood that, she started flying as fast as she could towards the school.

Mr. Xael suddenly reversed the direction he was pushing, the back end of the scythe's pole slamming into the bottom of Miaka's chin.
Miaka hit the ground several feet back, unconcious.
"Miaka!" Superio said, still trying to move.

Kysha was now close enough to see the action, but not close enough to do anything yet.

Mr. Xael raised the scythe to bring it down on Superio.
Superio closed his eyes, bracing himself.

Kysha arrived just in time to ram into the guy holding the sythe hoping to knock him off ballance and miss Superio completely.
