Malazar steps forwards and lightly takes her hand, bowing over it and brushing his lips across the back.
"A friend of Cora's is a friend of mine."
He straightens and looks around.
"Now... would either of you lovely ladies care for a drink? I am rather parched myself."

Shield, hmmm... *then she chuckles lightly as he kisses her hand* You may wish to ask Cora if she considers me a friend, then.

Malazar nods.
"Yes, an acquaintance would probably be the best word. Now if you'll excuse me for a moment I will be taking advantage of the Brink's excellent selection."
He pauses for a moment, then winks at Mell.
"Or maybe a friend yet to be made would be better."
He turns to the bar before he can see her reaction, though not fast enough for anyone to miss his grin.

Mal pauses to think. "Five and a half months Standard time. How long has it been for you?" He pours himself a glass of orange juice and turns back to Mell and Cora. "Some enjoy complexity for the challenge. Others view simplicity as mundane and boring. Still more are just so caught up in life that everything becomes entangled and confused beyond all recognition. Personally, I find simplicity refreshing." He takes a sip of orange juice and nods at Cora.

No, Melliandra, you don't have to. No one can make you do anything. You chose to. The others feel quite happy to help me understand. That's what they chose, and that is why they are my friends. You on the other hand don't care to extend the courtesy. I don't expect to learn a thing from you... except for what I notice about you.

"Actually, yes. A few years back I was in an... accident that reversed my age. Does it show that much?"
He chuckles.
"I've been at a conference for the past few days and it has left me in a rather contemplative mode. You have my apologies ahead of time for rambling."

*she returns her pale-eyed gaze to Malazar* Not so very, just slightly in your turn of speech, and about the eyes. *she leans forward, rubbing her chin again in thought* Reversed your age, you say . . . by how much? Are you still aging at a normal rate? Any idea what sort of spell it was?

"Nearly 60 years. I believe I am aging normally."
He swings his ponytail around to the front and shows it to her. There are a few white hairs in it.
"Originally my hair began to change colors in my mid forties. As their is more of it now I believe the process may have started a bit sooner, or at least I noticed it beforehand."
"As for the spell..."
He coughs and looks a tad embarrassed.
"It was witchcraft of a sorts, performed by a f..."
Even as he is speaking Malazar fades away.
