The voice finally seemed to seep though, and Miki shot straight up in the bed, her body filled in a cold sweat. She looked around in some sort of paranoia stage, noticed Yuki standing there in concern, then Miki relaxed for a moment with a sigh. Her head was aching again, like a drum, and she felt very hot, but otherwise it had all just been a horrible nightmare. Then the young kid realized that something seemed a bit....odd......it took a moment for it to hit her like a frieghttrain as she glanced at the sheets. Her face went full-on red in full embarassment.

"Did I just......Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, Ms. Yuki!"

She now felt awful, both physically and for this; this was Ms. Yuki's bed, too, that she had been kind enough to lend! And how did Miki accidently repay her? By runing the sheets over a stupid nightmare and looking weaker than she had ever been in her life. What was wrong with her? This Yuki had full right to throw Miki right out of the house, or have her arrested, or something of such natures.

Miki had no choice of action now but to cry again, burying her head in her arms, afraid to look up at Ms. Yuki. What a fool Miki had been! The drums kept playing in her head and her body feeling exhausted as a whole, causing her discomfort, but it was no more than she deserved, she had figured to herself. She's stop the tears a few times to cough into her fist, but nothing more.

((O.o Dramatic...scene change))

Ciel, shivered in her small apartment as she gathered her things into a small box. "That looks like everything" she said and her voice echoed in the nearly empty room. She looked around. The walls were a dull eggshell color and nearly no furniture occupied the room except a makeshift bed and a dresser left behind by the former tenants. "Hm," Her face was expressionless. She picked her box and left.

A while later she arrived at Yuki's door. "I wonder if they're still here..." she mumbled to herself. The lights were still on so she knocked on the door gingerly.

((True; it got very quiet in here after awhile. I had actually read all 60 something pages of this RP, and by the last 10 it got pretty settled. This keeps you on your toes, I suppose! biggrin ))

((Nyrv! Sorry, I was having a female... issue earlier. Bu I'm set now. ^.^))
Yuki chuckled. "It's okay Miki-chan. I don't care about that. We need to get you to the hospital. Just don't fall asleep. I'll be right back with some dry, clean clothes for you," she said walking out of the room. She went and opened the door.
"Miki wet the bed, but she's awake. I need you to call the ambulance, because it seems that Rina seems to have disapeared on us for the moment. I need to get Miki some dry cloths." she said walking up a small set of stairs and into a closet/room-thing (Walk in closet). She got out a long T-shirt, and a pair of underwear she had worn whn she was aorund Miki's age. She ran back down stairs and into her room again, but not before grabbing a large bowl and a wash cloth and towal. "Here. Why don't you clean up, and get dressed again. I'll clean the bed up." she said setting the water and two linins on the floor.

Miki nodded silently, still embarassed but now more worried about her pounding head and illness. Could've been worse......you could've puked or something, that'd be worse to get off bedsheets. And give off a worse smell. She finally told herself as she decided to drag the stuff into the bathroom nearby; she didn't want to cause any more trouble to the woman's room, and figured the bathroom would be much easier to work with.

She shut the door behind her and removed her clothes, seeing now that it was easier to tell. What a shame for the dress, but at least the two shirts didn't recieve any damage. As she began to clean up herself, she wondered in her mind what had caused her system to perform such an infantile move that was beyond her own control; it was not like Miki at all, and it seems that Ms. Yuki had realized this. She would not have been so kind otherwise, and she seemed more on the concerned side than anything. Was Miki really that ill? Sure, the drum head and warm body was not a good thing, but on what level of danger was Miki in? Apparently a high one, for it was getting harder for her to stay focused on one thing, not to mention her body now seemed to have a mind of it's own while she slept.

After a few minutes, it became evident that the room switch had been a good choice; layers of flith seemed to threaten to come off as she scrubbed, even without soap. This made the girl resort to standing in the empty tub as she scrubbed off layers of grime that had built up over the months. Her skin was now starting to look smooth, and she had no choice but to remove all the bandages taht the lady had put on before (for they had gotten used up anyways, even before hitting water). At least this way she was able to cover her whole body, and to her delight, had also found a abandoned bottle of soap in one of the drawers, in the very back. She hoped dearly that Ms. Yuki wouldn't mind her using it (for it seemed forgotten, and was going to expire in a week or so), and it had a nice lavendar smell to it, as well as a good cleaning tool.

Several minutes later, Miki turned on the tub water long enough to wash down the brown dead dirt that had been attached to her for some time. It shouldn't stuff anything up, she figured, since it was mainly water mass now and not a solid.

As she was about to put on the clothing, she took a good look in the mirror; her skin was now a lighter shade! It looked much more natural now, and since she had used some of hte same body soap in her hair, while it wasn't the best thing she could have used, it did do some wonders to her hair as well; it was a nice even dark brown, and looked clean. In fact, she looked 100% clean for once! Satasified with her work, she fought off sleep by cleaning up the bathroom floor for any water that might have spilled, and put on the new clothes. The undergarment seemed to fit nicely, while the long T-shirt looked like an akward huge dress, but very warm. But she wasn't sure what the print on the front was; some sort of strange black and white dog with a yellow bird, seeming to be companions. Ah, she had alot to learn!

But she was still sleepy, and didn't feel so great. Either way, she forced herself to reapply some of the bandages and that stinging stuff, seeing as the first aid kit was left in the bathroom. It was painful and nearly forced her to tears, but worth it, for now there would be no blood on the floor by accident. After taking care of a few more things (such as putting the stuff in a pile, etc.), she quietly made her way back to the room, enjyoing the new bandages on her feet.

She stood by the door; how she had made it back she wasn't sure, for now the sickness had completely gotten to her, the defenses she had used earlier while cleaning herself up gone and used up. She leaned against it as she looked around very vaguely for Ami, but she must be on the other side of the bed, on the floor. Part of her began to finally wonder what the place was that Ms. Yuki wanted to take her to; some sort of "emergency room." What was that? Was it a doctor place? She began to worry a bit on the inside, but she couldn't stay focused on it for too long without her headache increasing.

Sleepy sleepy, but it fought off her fears. She plopped to the floor and leaned her head against the door, sort of a dazed hazy look in the girl's usually bright eyes. Don't sleep, don't sleep.....sleepy sleepy, were the words that seemed to swim about in her mind as she gazed blankly in Ms. Yuki's direction, not really paying any attention to her surroundings very much.

Ciel set her box down and quickly dialed the ambulance. She gave the address to the operater and told told the woman what she knew about the situation. She hung up and sighed. "Yuki..." she made her voice loud enogh that Yuki would hear in the other room "the ambulance is on their way here." She walked, carrying her box, into to the room where Yuki was cleaning up and set it down by the wall inside the room. "I brought some clothes and things for Miki..." she trailed off.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw movement; it was Miki. She was sitting on the floor, with her head against the door. Her eyes were dazed and unfocused, as if she weren't fully awake. "Ah! Miki..." Ciel began to cry out, however, her words was engulfed by a loud, piercing siren that got louder as the seconds passed...the ambulance was here.

A loud, unpleasnt sound brought Miki back to reality. Having no clue whatsoever on what was going on at this point, she had no choice but to cover her ears and wince. What was making that awful sound? She had a bad feeling about it in general. She could now see that Ciel was in the room, trying to talk to her (most likely trying to keep her awake; did she nearly doze off? Oops.) There was also some box on the floor, but the usually information-seeking child was in no mood nor did she care as to what it was. Just showed that she wasn't in her best condition. She just wanted that awful sound to go away, but it instead got louder.

She suddenly forced herself to get up. Using what little strength she had left, she hopped onto the mattress, went to the other side of the bed, hopped onto the floor, and grabbed Ami. She held her tightly to herself as she now just sat on the mattress in a attempt to go back over, but was too exhausted to do so, and merely sat there trying to stay awake. For Ms. Yuki, for Ms. Ciel, for Ms. Yuki, for Ms. Ciel....was what the child forced herself to think over the loud irritating noise. She was now also a bit scared, for bad noises couldn't bring good things, could it? She looked about nervously, chances of her sleeping now slim.

Yuki ran to the door and opened it wide for the men and the stretcher to get through. "She's in there, She's Japanese, so I'm gonna have to come, and so is Ciel so she won't feel alone." she said in English. She rushed over to the room. "Thank's Ceil. You're going to ride in the cab with the driver, I'm going to be in back with Miki." she said before walking over to Miki.
"Miki-chan, you need to stay awake now. I know you're probably scared, and confused, but you're going to be going to a big buildinhg with doctors. I'm comming with you, because no one can understand you fully, but me. You're going to be put on a bed with wheels, and rolled into a big car with lights and sounds. They're going to find out what's wrong with you, and give you medicine(sp?). UNderstand? I'll be riding with you in the car," Yuki finished just before the paramedics cmame and got Miki.
"You ready Ceil?" she asked as she slid on her shoes, and grabbed some things for Miki.

The wailing noise continued as Ms. Yuki left the room for a moment, and Miki heard the sound of a door opening and she was speaking to someone. The child nervously begain fiddling with Ami's hair, but still didn't feel like looking in the box. Normally her curiuosity would get the better of her, but she was still feeling like she just got out of a rollercoaster after being in it for a whole day, nonstop. As she finally heard Yuki return, she tried her best to look awake and attentive, then listened to what Ms. Yuki said.

Apparently they were heading to a place with doctors, and the sounds were coming from a car made for that kind of trip, as well as some lights. Something about a rolling bed that would take her to the car (most likely due to the fact she could barely walk in a straight line at the moment), and finally finding out what was wrong. But she wouldn't be alone, for Ms. Yuki and Ciel were coming with her. She nodded in understanding, but before Miki could give the lady any background information a doctor would most likely ask, the whole scenario began to start.

There were four of them at the moment; two men and two women. They all seemed to rush around the bed and took a moment to look at her skin color, flashing a mini flashlight in her eyes, nerves, and the like, while carrying conversation that Miki could sort of get. This was all in a couple minutes tops, and they seemed to be very professional at their work, yet were able to try and keep a lightened mood. They must do this alot.

"Well, been awhile since we've gotten one of these calls. Usually another family member or something, but this one shows no family ties to anyone here. Hey kiddo! Just hang in there, ok? Let's take a look at what we're dealing with here. Just relax, and I'll be careful. Just let me know if I'm being too rough here, but I'll be careful." Miki nodded, and he went to work as the other three helped him.

"Aw, she's so cute! She looks American enough, wonder if she understands me...."

"The lady said she understands it somewhat, but doesn't speak it too great. It's why she's going in the back with us, along with this girl. It's Miki, right?"

"Yeah, her name's Miki."

"Ok, gotta make sure I don't call you the wrong name, hm?"

"Eh, she smells nice, though. Faintl scent of Lavender, if I'm guessing right."

"Only you would point that out....let's see, her pulse looks normal over here."

"The rest looks somewhat decent, but not great; this kid has been through heck on earth, by the looks of it. Let's get going; we'll have to have some answers eventually, but right now let's just make sure she gets well." the man said, writing something on a clipboard and offering a small smile to the child.

After taht (which wasn't too bad), Miki felt herself being picked up by one of ladies and strapped onto the bed on wheels, as Ms. Yuki mentioned before. She looked up at the four people taking her out of the house, and she could now feel the cold of outside. They were quick to get her in a giant rectanguar red-and-white truck.

The inside of it was nerving; there were many wires and strange technical stuff for sick people, none of which she understood and all looked sharp and painful. Three of them were setting her up with an oxygen mask and a random needle for something. which she actually didn't struggle too much, but was very tense and squirmed slightly, which the others were trying to coax her nerves by smiling, patting her head, the like.
"It's alright, Miki. There! We're all settled in." one of the women assure her, as Miki tried to relax with the kind paramedics. "She did better than I thought, actually. Expected more of a struggle from kids her age."

As this was accomplished, the main paramedic went back to the house and waited for the two accompinists to come back.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 19, 2008 3:35 pm

"Ceil, come on. We need to go!" she said loudly enough for the whole house to hear. She briskly walked out to the ambulance, but before stepping out the door said. "Don't forget to bring a jacket!"

"Um, I'll be there in a sec," Ciel called out. She went bacl to the room and took out a small, tan and heavily worn shoulder bag; inside she put a small jacket and a change of clothes for Miki. She didn't know exactly when Miki would be getting out but she would need clothes when she did.

She grabbed a jacket for herself, slung the bag over her shoulder, and ran out. She got into the cab quickly and sat almost nearly motionless (except for when she pulled her hair in to a ponytail with a pink velvet ribbon she found in one of her pockets) while she waited for their departure. 'I hope her fever isn't too serious...' she thought, once again fingering the gem on her necklace out of worry.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 19, 2008 5:37 pm

The four paramedics made room in the back for Yuki as the driver, a completely different face, stuck his head through a window in the divider of the car and looked back at them as if asking if everyone was ready. The leader paramedic looked around the medically armed car, then looked out hte back window and saw Ciel go into the cab, most likely. Miki could not see out the window at her angle and made no movement to do so. "Ok, now that we're all here and counted present (including the cab behind us), let's get going before this storm gets any worse on us."

At that sound, Miki could suddenly feel the ground move beneath them, as if they were flying without wings. She tried lifting her head to look out the back window, but she was unable to lift it, and instead move it from side to side and looked at the ones around her. It was weird, lying down and looking up at people. She could hear herself breathing with this machine on and all, and she could feel a needle still giving her some sort of liquid in her right arm. She shivered; sorta chilly but not bad.

"She looks cold, let's get a blanket here........" one of them was moving stuff about, then took out a warm white sheet, placing it over the shivering child. Since they had done all the wound and body examinations earlier, unless something suddenly went wrong, there was no need to have the girl lying there without much to keep her warm. "Oh! you dropped this." she added, picking up the girl's doll and sitting it next to her, within teh straps so it wouldn't fall again. Poor thing; she looked very weak.

Miki took a moment to realize how kind these people were being; coming out here on such an awful night just to help her? She was not used to this, and therefore think they needed to know that they were appreciated. But they weren't Japanese speakers. Fighting her headache, she fished for the right phrase in her mind; they were all being so nice to her, trying to help her....

".....Thank you." was all she could think of, as well as say in a tiny quiet voice with a breathing mask on, but it was still heard, but barely. She moved her head about, as if saying it applied to them all. It must have been right, for both women made some sort of "awwing" noise and moved about excitedly. Strange Americans, Miki thought, trying to keep her head from spinning, and went at first to just stare at teh ceiling. But the bright light, even with closed eyes, was harsh, so she merely turned her head to the side with no one sitting right in front of her. She was actually midly comfortable, but remembered that she's not supposed to fall asleep, so merely stared at the wall. She could feel someone patting her head, but was too exhausted to look and see who it was, her sudden burst of energy now gone.

"Ok, mam, let's try and get the questions over with before we get there; probably easier that way, seeing as Miki's doing better than planned so far, but she might snap at any time (being small and all, and mostly likely fighting back), so let's get this over with.

So, you're saying this kid showed up on your doorstep earlier this evening (or, should we say last night, it being 12:30 am here)? How did she look then, and do you have any idea if she has any relatives, any family ties at all?" the main one asked to Ms. Yuki, holding a clipboard with some important paper on it, and a pen.

Yuk nodded. "Yes. She came out of nowhere and Ms. Ceil, in the cab behind us, pulled her and her wagon in. She was a wreck, so I cleaned her up and gave her some bandages and stuff. I gave her some food and drink, and made sure that she would keep cool while she slept, because of her fever. That and--"
"Hey, aren't you the one that got shot a few days ago?"
"Yes, but this has nothing to do with me--"
"You're due to get stitches taken out, aren't you?"
"I took them out myself. Now let me finish!"
"Right, continue."
"So it got worse somehow, and she was having some sort of nightmare, and I had to wake her up so she wouldn't die in her sleep. She had a high fever at the time, but she'd also had an accident in her sleep, so I had her clean herself up, which must've taken a lot of strength, 'cause she collapsed. I had Ceil call you moments after."
she explained as she shooed the paramedic's hand away from her head and lightly pet it. She mad herself see-able in Miki's line of sight.
"Miki-chan, you're doing very good! We're almost there, so just hold on a bit longer so they can give you medicine to make you better! And when we get home, I could make you some Leek Soup if you want! Does that sound good to you?"
