Cassie had been in the classroom, waiting for her students. But they weren't due in yet! She was sneaking in a lunch! Of seafood fried rice, with all the seafood humanly possible. Octopus, squid, mollusks, clams, oysters... and of course fish... it was all in this lunch. A lot of food had somehow been able to fit inside this tiny container. It was a little like how energy fit inside Cassie really, but don't tell her that to her face. She had been quickly shoveling lunch into her mouth (but not uncouthly) and sputtered a little when Hiru's voice suddenly rang throughout the school. Thankfully that had been when she had been going in for another bite and thus her mouth was empty... well, Cassie wasn't the type of person to leave someone out there hanging, so off she trotted to open the door.

"Why hello there!" she said happily to the shark boy, before tilting her head to one and and bringing one finger to her lips thoughtfully. "Umm... let me guess. Hoshigaki definitely. Hoshigaki Hiru?"

Kiketsu had finally arrived after following the bolt of silver blue lightning. He didn't bother to run after the gilled boy. He didn't no what time the academy started, but his mind hoped there would be leeway because it was his first time to the academy. It had only been three days of him slithering around the village and everything was still very new.

Entering through the door, he saw the itchy student along with a new teacher. This one was female, with a scarf and many bracelets around her arms. Her green blue eyes were on chatting with the shark toothed student, so Kiketsu just watched the interaction between the two as he took off his poncho. That was not needed anymore.

"Wow you're good! Am I going to get mind reading powers when I'm able to mold chakra too?" he asked incredibly impressed.

Hiru noticed Cassie-sensei trying to hide something behind the classroom teacher's desk, yet she did not seem to know it was in vain. He picked up the smell of fishes and eels the second he walked into the academy. However, he did try to keep his urges in check, Hiru did not want to get on his teacher's bad side the first time he met her.

A few seconds later that cool kid from the ramen shop appeared behind him. Hiru scratched a bit and asked him:

"Did that other sensei get you with his itchy poison too?".

He turned to Cassie-sensei for a second and added:

"I hope you're not as mean as he is! Anyway, I think we're both ready to start!", he added, his pointy teethed smile cracked from on ear to the other.

Kiketsu considered some of the scary things in life and one of those could possibly be a hyperactive shark boy. He was scratching and fidgeting turning back and forth between Kiketsu and the teacher. The violet haired child only watched in slight awe as the child returned his gaze to the teacher. If he was going to be this energetic for the next couple of hours it will be a very long day. Well there was one thing his shark jawed peer stated of relevance.

When were they going to start and just what were they going to have to do. "Indeed, I am ready sensei." the snake like child stated moving a step closer to older girl and staring at her with his lime eyes.

"Oh! Well, it's pretty complicated... you'll definitely be able to read more into people as you get better as a ninja!" Cassie promsied him with a wide smile. She noticed his eyes trail towards behind her and her heart sank....... eating on duty. That wasn't really allowed. Fortunately, Kiketsu appeared and distracted him! Cassie took the opportunity to look at the new student and realise that he was totally foreign to her.

"Are you a new student?" she asked Kiketsu curiously. "I certainly don't have your picture on my list..." Her eyes wandered to her desk again, where her folder lay, and then back to Kiketsu. "Yup. Definitely don't. Come in anyway."

As she retreated back in the classroom, beckoning the students to follow her, she turned to address Hiru's concerns.

"Ah... let's wait a bit longer, shall we Hiru-chan? If I'm not mistaken there's still one student left to come. If we start the class without him we would be leaving him out!" She frowned at his previous statements. "Your sensei poisoned you? That's so incredibly mean!" Cassie finally reached her desk and sat down again. "So tell me... what's he like?" she then proceeded to ask curiously. Cassie had many questions about this sensei herself. She could enquire about him after school, but then she would have to wait... While she was waiting for an answer, she started to eat again. Might as well finish her lunch before more students came in...

[Cassie doesn't know about Kane... so, that's why I said one student. XD]

"Of course she wouldn't have a picture of me." the fanged boy contemplated to himself. His arrival was by mistake to this village. The child had gotten on the wrong ship, and just decided to continue on this path. Sooner or later though he would have had to come to bloody mist. It probably was better that he did now. Still if she pursued his reasons for arrival then Kiketsu would have to lie. Or at least withhold information. The handling of information is something that the boy is used to.

The ivory colored boy followed the older girl and his blue faced peer. She stated there was one more person. If it were up to Kiketsu he'd rather it just be him. The more people means the more of a hassle it is. Also means the possibility of others slowing him down. And being dragged down by others would be inefficient. A trait Kiketsu dislikes.

Hopefully this other person would be here soon. For now boy pivots his head around the room taking in the sites of their learning center and giving a glance to what his new teacher was eating. The boy's face remained as placid and uncaring, like all times. Within his mind though he was wondering how did she fit all that seafood in such a small container.

Hiru's expression slightly changed to and angered annoyance when he heard Cassie-sensei's question about sensei's personality.

"What's sensei like? He tries to act all cool like "hey, let's go train" but the next second he buys you food just so he could get you poisoned... I don't like him...", Hiru answered.

He didn't really know him, having met him for a total of around an hour, yet he spoke almost like a specialist on his account. Still Hiru didn't like to gossip so he kept the rest of his comments to himself... not like he probably had any others anyway.

The shark kid, had he many virtues, was not a very patient one. The idea of doing small talk instead of training was not a very good substitute in his mind. Especially now that he learned he'd get some sort of mind reading powers after he'd refine his ability to mold chakra.

"Can't we start right away?", Hiru asked. "I'm sure they'll catch up. All the students I've seen at the ramen shop were very smart!", he added.

Of course, Hiru didn't really have any idea how smart the other students, he just wanted to get on with training and this was his clumsy way of accelerating things...

[Crap Hiru. Did you make that in your sig? It rocks! My recolouring pales in comparison.]

Cassie could barely suppress a chuckle as she heard Hiru's description of Sensei. It sounded like the same guy all right... but, more extreme. As sour as ever. Cassie wondered how he had changed, and if it was really him... and how much she herself would have changed in their eyes. But now enough of this mysterious inner monologue.

"Well," she said, half trying to comfort the kid and half trying, perhaps, to patch up the impression of the sensei in the kid's mind. "At least he didn't really poison you, right? I mean, you don't seem the worse for wear... and... hmmm... maybe we could, actually." Cassie said this last sentence in a different tone. It was a tone that screamed hey I have an idea!......

"I'm sure there are some textbooks here!" Cassie announced triumphantly and you could hear the world crashing down around her. That was pretty much a given... "At least, there were the last time I was here, which was pretty long ago," Cassie remarked thoughtfully, looking around. "The academy's gotten a lot nicer since I was gone... aha!" The pirate lady pounced on her booty as she waved the textbooks (titled Ninjutsu for Beginners) triumphantly. She was holding one textbook in each hand, one for Kiketsu and one for Hiru.

"I guess you could catch up on some reading first," she said. "Related reading. Start with chapter 1, and by the time you're finished the other students should come. If they haven't, we'll start anyway! Oh, and by the way what is your name anyway, new student?" she asked Kiketsu, having forgotten that she didn't know his name. Cassie got scatterbrained some - no, make that a lot of the time. "I'm Cassie, but you probably already caught that."

Kiketsu just listened in on this tyrant of sensei that tries to poison his students. He sounded like a spartan, even though the quiet boy had only known him for no more than five minutes. He also seemed to be acting cool, not giving his name away. "I should probably stay away from his classes for now. No reason to be itching like this other kid...." the boy though as he watched the overzealous, half sea creature.

If there was anything the shark like youth had correct was to train before the rest. The two of them were there now. It was better for the two to start and let the rest of the stragglers come at their own rate. The sea worthy woman must have heard his plea because she plops a text book for each boy in front of them.

"Related reading. Start with chapter 1, and by the time you're finished the other students should come. If they haven't, we'll start anyway! Oh, and by the way what is your name anyway, new student?" the short wearing girl asked giving out her name. Well at least some teachers had some courtesy. Just like before he gave a small bow with the same line he's done for years to any older person of importance. "Good afternoon. My name is Dakatsu Kiketsu.".

With that he opened the book and began to read chapter one of ninjustu. It was a good way to start, considering the violet haired boy had aspirations of learning as many techniques as possible. With a clear understanding of that he could then also focus his understanding on his other motive and find that line in between.

"What is the curriculum for today sensei?" his lips ask nonchalantly not letting his serpent like eyes away from the page. He could multi task when need be, so her chatting and the small crunching of seafood would not be a bother.

[I hope i did this right.]

Opening the large text book, lime pupils began to scan through the first pages of the book. It wasn't an easy read. This text reminded his analytical mind of his sister's text book. They were two different texts, but both had much similarities. Just like those years previous, Kiketsu still had problems reading the text. The words weren't too complicated to understand. It was just the concept of it. He didn't let it show upon his facial features, but it was becoming vexing.

The snake like child never did get far within his sister's book on jutsu. Yet she was able to breeze through it. Years later and it seems nothing has changed.

Midori ran through the academy doors and down the hall to where the lesson was. She opened the door and slid in. She smiled more fake than before and stood there. She had only had a glimpse of the two boys there with her and she was just meeting the Sensei.

Just as it seemed he was getting the hang of some concepts a new person enters disturbing the peace. Kiketsu didn't move his head, but just pivoted his eyes to get a glimpse of this new person.

It was a girl who was taller than him. Her hair was white as snow and made its way just past her neck, which was also pale. Her skin was nearly as ghostly colored like Kiketsu's. Dark blue pupils, similar to the ocean, give one glance to the serpentine boy before she passed him. Her skirt swayed back and forth with each footstep as this newcomer approached the teacher.

Kiketsu gave her one final look as she adjusted her turtle neck and returned to his passage. As long as she wasn't a bother like the energetic fish who is also reading then the fanged child did not mind. Or better stated, did not care.

He finally was getting the hang of the first few pages. It was not anything advanced. Just a small explanation of jutsu in general. Yet the concept of mind and body joining was difficult at first. Now the analytical mind was able to grasp the wording and embed it in his mind.

Remembering a bit of his past, Kiketsu did remember his sister giving him a small lecture about it. She said to think of it like a balance or scale. On one side is the mind and the other is body. Just by playing with the equilibrium and hand seals one would get a jutsu.

Well something along those lines. Kiketsu never did like being lectured by his sister.

Batosai slowly made his way to the academy without and worry. He didn't really want to go right away as he took his time to get there. Sensei's words were still going through his head as he couldn't make what he might have really been trying to say. He understood what the lecture was about, but Batosai felt that Sensei was deeply teaching them something else that he couldn't see.

As he was collecting his thoughts of the events earlier, he made his way to his classroom. He opened the door and slowly made his way inside to noticed that Cassie was still here, probably was expecting him in the first place. He noticed both Hiru and Kiketsu had already arrived here. He then noticed a girl with snow white hair here as well. He made his way to Kiketsu so he could get a idea on what he will be learning today. "What are we doing right now" Batosai asked with eagerness to learn.

Kiketsu kept his eyes on his book. He was reading about the five elements and did not even notice the child from the ramen shop enter the building. Only when the dark hair boy came up to Kiketsu, did the serpent child notice. Once his lime colored eyes made contact with the face of thin boy, the ivory skinned student almost lost all his composure. His usual emotionless expression contorted to a malevolent stare, with a low hiss and quick flicker of his tongue across his upper lip.

Very few things in life could crack the statue like mask that the white faced child kept on a daily basis. The primary thing would have to be the color red. Still the newcomer of Kiri wouldn't snap at the smallest hint of red. He had enough composure to not let it bother him greatly on day to day basis. After all people wear red. Some more than others.... still it was just clothes. No what bothered Kiketsu today was his eyes. The crimson orbs within the boy's head was very reminiscent of the past. Of the betrayal. The splashing of blood upon the walls and mats of the floors. The first thing he saw after his sister's throat was cut through like beef for dinner.

"What are we doing now?" the boy's voice brings Kiketsu back from his thoughts. The serpent eyes close for a few seconds. He had to calm down and relax. Retain composure and dispel any emotions. His mind had to remember this was not the same person from that day, no matter how much he wished to push his nails into the eye sockets of his dark haired peer. His face returns to the uncaring expression to his eager peer, albeit a more malignant glare towards him.

"We are reading on ninjutsu. Ask sensei for a text book." his voice murmurs out while his eyes return to words on the page. To Kiketsu it was like nothing ever happened.
