Linalee and Violet peered into the room from the crack in the door they had made. It seemed that Dante was busily shouting commands out hte wind to his pokemon. I seemed that he was in a battle already even in the hospital bed.

Kilik approached the Fuschia Gym and opened the door. A few of the other apprentices of Koga examined him for a moment, then nodded. Kilik walked along the wood paneling of the floor, sliding his fingers along the glass walls, whispering to himself. He had solved this puzzle before, but was unsure whether or not it changed sometimes.
Rena continually bumped into the glass, even though she was following the boy. It was as if she wanted to try out other paths that would take her into dead ends. However, she knew Kilik's idea of the Gym was better than hers, so following him step by step was the best idea.
Kilik reached the end of the maze and reached the Gym Leader's door. "Since he's outside battling," he wrapped his fingers around the handle and pushed it open, "Yep. Unlocked." He motioned for Rena to follow him into the room. When she was inside, he closed it. The room was completely empty. "Alright...now..where was it again?" he placed a hand on his chin and thought for a moment.

Mike entertained the Gym Leader for the ten or so minutes his Pokemon were still being healed. He told her of all the things that happened since his match with her. He started at the Cherry Blossom festival and Mitsu's momentary chage to the Rockets, then going on to happily report on leveling the 5 Island Warehouse, he made sure not to stint on the details of Titanium's exploits for destruction. His face turned a little less bouncy as he told of Sarina's death, and what it did to his friend. Pushing that aside, he also went over his completely awful loss to Flannery, and the reasonings behind that too. Felsic's evolution was also covered. He could have sworn he saw her frown at the mention of the Lavaridge Gym Leader, he must have been seeing things. Moving along, he told of what transpired at Viridian Gym, his psychic friend's vain efforts at eliminating Giovanni. He had to go to the rescue, taking on the main man himself. His voice sounded a proud tune as he went over in extreme care each part of the battle. After that, acquiring Napalm's egg was the next little tale he told, followed by his return to Lavaridge and his battle with Nina and Flannery, both of which he won. He finished it up by going quickly over any points he missed, like Napalm's battles with Elekid, his Marsh Badge win, Felsic's other evolution, random tales of Beacon's moronic exploits, and any other points of interest.
"You certainly get around now don't you" Winona said finally, a bit taken back by the adventurous boy's story. "Makes me want to travel with you sometime..." The last sentence was almost too quiet to hear, the girl looked down, slightly defeated. Mike heard the trademark bell of the Pokemon Center, signaling his friends were all healed. Thanking the nurse, he clipped all but Nitro's in, making his way to the sliding doors. He released the Charizard, hopping on.
"Wait Mike!" The Gym Leader ran out the doors, the usual arrogant and superior look on her face was gone, replaced with that of a longing, crushed little girl. "It's not that I really have a problem with you leaving or anything," The girl started, attempting to speak with her usual confidence but somehow each word made her feel even more vulnerable. "but...just come back soon alright?" She walked over to the boy and his Pokemon, standing on her tiptoes, planting a small peck on Mike's cheek. "Promise we'll go traveling some day?"
He smiled, she was just a big softie after all. "I promise." The trainer smiled, taking to the skies of Hoenn.
Winona let out a labored sigh, a tear welling up in her eye. Turning sharply, she ran all the way back to her Gym.

"So many trees." Mike said, examining the landscape from atop his 'noble steed'. He leaned over, spotting towns as they darted overhead. "Hey look, there's Rustboro!" The boy smiled, recalling his fight with Roxanne, Shiver and Nightmare's great Surf attacks mopping the floor with her. Soon Hoenn shrunk, the region of Johto coming into view.
Nitro had become accustomed to flying such long distances, and was learning to enjoy them. His flaming tail providing a long trail of smoke, similar to a plane as the two flew over Blackthorn.

Sunfire's Shadow Ball showed no signs that it had even passed through the surface of the water, and it traveled down, striking Goldeen for a solid hit. Almost instantly, Misty held up her Pokeball, fully intent on calling the Goldfish back.
However, Goldeen didn't seem to want to give up, even though her energy level was hardly enough to keep her swimming. Bravely, the Goldfish tried to initiate a Horn Attack, but she was just too weak.
"Don't push yourself, girl," the gym leader smiled, and recalled her. "She never knows when to give up, that one," she laughed, swapping Pokeballs. "It's time to get serious," she said, holding up her last Pokeball triumphantly. "Misty calls Starmie! It's show time!"
With a graceful throw, Misty sent out the final aquatic Pokemon. It was much larger than Staryu, a large, gorgeous ruby red gem decorating its center core. Its ten limbs were all a rich purple, yet the faceless Pokemon moved swiftly and gracefully, something its unevolved form, Staryu, lacked. "Water Gun!" the Tomboyish Mermaid called, pointing at the Flareon. She smiled as the Pokemon leapt high into the air, a powerful blast of water shooting from its top point.

"This room is eerily quiet, Kilik..." Rena groaned, lifting her thumb to her lip and biting it slightly. She looked over to see him knocking on the wood panels that covered the walls. "What exactly are you doing?"
"Koga has a hidden passageway that leads outside," he explained, nodding to the window. Through it, they could both see the battle between Muk and the Absol. He paused, knocking on the panels a little harder. He approached one that souded very hollow on the other side. "Ah-ha!" He slid the panel to the right, revealing the hallway beyond. "Oh, Master Koga. Your puzzles are easily solved." He gave a triumphant laugh and motioned for Rena to follow him down the hall.
She nodded and followed close behind. The hallway was rather large and she was shocked it was hidden so well. Rena was about to ask him something, but decided against it when she saw him run outside.
"There's the waterfall..." he whispered to himself, slowing down and crossing his arms over his chest, taking an interest in Kasiya and Koga's battle. He leaned against the doorframe and watched from behind Kasiya's side.

If Dante noticed that Linalee and Violet were watching him it didn't show. For once luck seemed to be on Dante's side and the poison didn't seem to affect Bahamut. The Gust attack didn't even do that much damage, Dante suspected that that was just because Bahamut had a higher level of experience. Shaking off the attack Bahamut dove down in a Fly attack and did her best to chase the Butterfree around. For its part the Butterfree was doing a great job dodging all of the attempts of Bahamut to attack it, even though it did falter in some places due to the poison. " Bahamut use your Dragonbreath to attack it from a far!" he ordered. This time Bahamut heard him and seemed to agree because she started firing the blue flames at the bug pokemon. Eventually one of the attacks hit which sent the Butterfree crashing down to the ground. After a few moments of trying to push itself up if finally collapsed.
"Oh no! Freefree!" Stephanie cried as she recalled the bug. "All right! I am going to show you! Lets go Vines!" With an angry look on her face she tossed out a pokeball to reveal a Venasaur. Upon being released the large pokemon shook its large flower and roared. "This is the pokemon I got from Professor Oak. It's my first and our bond is stronger then with all my others."
Seeing the large pokemon be revealed Dante stared at it for a moment, the final form of the Kanto starting pokemon were rare to see and this one looked like it was in tip top shape. "Bahamut get back here. Apollo you are up." He called. The small dragon looked a bit disappointed but did as she was told. Ready to show the power off in his new form Apollo marched up front and center his black and white mane and tail billowing in the slight breeze. "Apollo was my first pokemon and I am willing to bet our bond is stronger then yours."

Sunfire gave a happy cry at the dissapearance of his opponent. But on seeing his new challenger he wasn't pleased. The next bit would be even harder. At least he probably wouldn't be confused. He took the stream of water hit head on, doing a fair amount of damage. "Hey Sunfire! Don't get too cocky out there! Sheesh.. You can only heal so much." Mag said noticing another small glow, the leftovers, he had given to the Flareon a long time ago. They seemed to never run out for some magical reason. "Now retaliate with Shadow Ball!" Mag ordered. This was Misty's signature pokemon and he was secretly betting that Sunfire wouldn't make it through the fight however vailantly he battled. But for now to do as much damage as possible.
Sunfire nodded and began platform hopping to get closer to the star pokemon before him. Going in a wide arc and Quick Attacking accross gaps that were too large to jump he was soon in a relatively close range and shot off the dark orb.

Try to dodge that! Jasmine nearly yelled in her head; still, she maintaned the appearance of complete composure on the outside, albeit her face was flushed with the suspense and excitement of battling. She saved herself that effort, however, knowing that Steelix would see the situation well enough wthout her intervention.
The hurricane-twister was too quick and strong for the Steelix to evade entirely. Although he had tried to move out of the way, the Iron Snake Pokemon had half of his immense body overtaken by the super-effective attack. Dragon-type attacks didn't harm his Steel constitution very much, but the water element was definately a hard hit for his other type, Ground.
With another enraged roar, the Steelix took the attack painfully; Jasmine frowned, hating to see that hurt. Although he was very much shaken now, he wasn't totally down for the count. Another attack like that, though, and both Jasmine and Steelix knew he would be.
The Olivine Gym Leader knew what the turn-out of the battle would be, but she knew they could still make it a challenge. "Sandstorm!" she cried, once she saw the Steelix was still up. He obliged, whipping up a fierce storm that limited visibility immensely and pummelled the two Pokemon (although Steelix couldn't feel it). With training, Steelix had limited the storm within the confines of the arena, so that neither trainer felt the affects of the thick, unrelenting sand, but they could no longer see how the battle was going. Perhaps that could mean that Krystal would not be able to pinpoint Steelix's position as well, however. Steelix had a slight advantage in this climate.

The first thought that came to Krystal's mind was to whip up another Twister to attempt to thwart the Sandstorm-- but after thinking it over, she realized that could only make the situation worse. Squinting as she was hit by the sand, causing a bit of damage to be dealt to her, she was able to make out Steelix's silvery form.
Rushing towards him, leaving a trail of sparkles behind her in her wake, Krystal spewed whitish-blue flames from her mouth, performing a Dragon Rage attack. Her ears seemed to be involuntarily flapping.

"That I do, Mitsu," Flannery called back, hands perched on her slender hips. Poor Numel took the Shadow Ball head on, and promptly collapsed. The strain of his previous Overheat and the experience level difference were too much for the small Fire-type. Flannery recalled him, holding another Pokeball in her hand already. "But this is an official gym match," she said ruefully. "If you really want a challenge, you should come back some other time." She grinned devilishly, thinking of the powerful Fire-types she counted among her ranks, most notably her Rapidash, Houndoom and Arcanine (the latter of the three, coincidentally enough, having come from the local breeding center owned and operated by Keegan's parents).
She smiled at her last Pokeball before letting it fly, revealing a Torkoal. To the untrained eye, one would assume that this was Flannery's beloved Torkoal, the one she'd had for years and years. But this wasn't the case, for in fact, this lovely little girl was actually Torkoal's daughter, Torque. She wasn't nearly as strong as her papa, but she definitely showed promise. Thick, white smoke escaped her nostrils, and the coals set in her tough shell glowed brightly. She opened her mouth wide, and yawned. While at first, the action seemed harmless enough and uncalled for, Flannery stifled a yawn of her own, smiled as she gave a little wave to Karri, knowing that soon the Gardevoir would be fast asleep.

Steelix, this time, was able to dodge the attack more successfully, albeit some of it still hit. It did not affect him as much as the hurricane-twister had, however; thank goodness that was a Dragon-based attack, and not real Fire.
She was close enough again for his trademark, strongest attack, Iron Tail. With another rumbling roar, he slammed the back half of his snake-like build agressively into the Dragonair. Tired as he was, he wouldn't go down wthout a fight.

Ky followed Crenu and got a similar tray of food, only differing from lack of one Pokefood bowl. The silence was very unnerving and looking at M.A., he could tell that she was thinking something was off as well, or at least he hoped she was. He looked down at his food and found his appetite disappearing. It wasn't that he wasn't hungry, it was just that he felt his normal cheeriness being sucked away, much like Nurse Joy's was. Ky watched as Crenu let his Pokemon out, and found that whatever personalities his Pokemon once showed did not appear on their faces now. In fact, it seemed to be similar to that of Crenu's. Ky took a seat across the table from Crenu, again looking into those estranged eyes of his, feeling again his almost icy glare. "I dunno Crenu... There's something wrong. You aren't acting normal and neither are your Pokemon. Did something happen? Am I missing something?" Ky asked. His face then turned to his food tray, trying to gather what appetite he had left.

Nitro touched down in the forest outside Azalea. While he was getting better at long distance flights, he still had many more trips to go before he could go non-stop. He sat down to catch his breath, the flame on his tail burning a bit weaker from his fatigued state.
Mike was a little more energetic, as it wasn't his wings that were carrying him all the way to Kanto. He spent his break time chasing Pidgeys, laughing as whole clusters of them flew away as he ran. "That's right, run!" He barked, shaking a jokingly angry fist. The two sat around, chatting as best they could with the language gap. Mike told them of the agenda, how they would battle with Koga, then study up on Pokemon fossils, hopefully getting one of their own.
Nitro stood up, spreading his wings once more. As they took off, Mike had visions of a cute little Omanyte. He smiled the whole ride home.

Not about to be struck by that attack again --it had hurt badly enough the first time-- Krystal used Agility to up her speed, allowing her to escape from the attack...
For the most part.
Her back end was struck, causing her to be hit to the ground, landing with an obnoxiously loud CRASH! She was struck by the Sandstorm as well, dealing a little bit more damage as well. It was obvious that she was in pain.
Yet Krystal rose, summoning the remaining amount of fight that she had left in her. She was a bit dizzy and her vision was blurred a little, due to the storm. Rising up into the air, she summoned a third wave of water, blasting it toward the snake with every ounce of power she had.
