Ruby glanced at her phone and snapped it up in her hands a bit too eagerly. She saw the caller ID and frowned slightly but pushed it away, before answering. At least it was a phone call from someone. "Hey, Bobby." She said with an attempt at a cheerful voice.

A birthday card-shaped envelope slid under her door. It was a deep blue, with Ruby written on the front in bright red easy-to-read cursive, so there could be no mistake who it was for.

((That's usually what happens to notes slipped under doors, don't worry. I figured that's how it would go. 3nodding ))

After Ruby left, a considerate black-gloved hand reached in to place a bouquet of yellow roses it had found outside in the room, opposite from the card and safely away from that notorious region wherein any three-dimensional object is bound to get smashed behind a slamming door someday.

Ruby nodded, "I can get 'im there if I can get 'im concious enough to walk with me. I like to think of myself as a strong gal, but even I have trouble carryin' a full grown fella nearly twice my size." She gave a slight shrug, "but I can get one of the guards to assist me if necessary, considerin' more'n one of 'em have a crush on me." She smiled. "But don't you worry, sug, I don't encourage it like I used to.....when I'm not bored, that is." She added the last just to tease him.

Ruby walked up to the front of the bus and stretched her arms over Arch, until they relaxed, draped over his shoulders and the driver's seat. She gave him a soft kiss on the cheek, right under the rim of the shades. "I haven't actually thought about it, whether I'll go back out or not, but if it makes you feel any better I promise to bring a guard or two with me, if I do." She paused to nuzzle the tip of her nose down the side of his jaw. "An' while you're out there yourself, stay safe....oh, an' pick up some roses, a birthday present, an' a cake. I'll be sure to make it worth your while."

"staih saihfe, ahn ah whohs tah saih ah donnah 'ahve thohse ahlreadeh? Ahfteh thihs ihs o'ehr, wehl neehda mahke taihme, ah've gahwt sohemthihn ihn mah roohm." Arch smiled.
Arch glanced back to Bobby. "Yeh wahnt meh 'ehlp puht 'ihm waih?"

Jerhic was issuing orders to the Krovhan soldiers, sending them out to containt the mass rioting in the city. After the last man leaving was shoved out of the way by an older man, his hair loose, and fly-away, kind of like your sterotypical mad scientist, his eyes hidden behind thick glasses.
"And I am assuming this is another trick of this freakshow you brought into Krovh, Mister President?" The older man asked, slamming his hands on Jerhic's desk. Jerhic pinched his nose as he replied.
"No, this is not the Angel's doing. He and some of his trusted are out helping my men with this."
"I do not want to hear any of your defense of him. Let me be frank- Things are not looking good for you. There is near rioting in the streets, without this affliction, and all of it is centered on you and your new choice in allies. We could have won this war without thier 'help', such as it is."
"And lost men and resources that the Angel and his men have saved. Not to mention the fact that he brought us outside assitance, such as the plans for the Siege Tanks."
"All of that is moot compared to the stress they brought to an already divided city."
"The devision wasn't noticed until just recently, when YOU started expressing your profound distaste for Supers. I adivise you leave here. Now. You also might want to consider cleaning your office, as well. When I leave for Pheonix, you are leaving this city, as well. I'm not going to tolerate war mongering in my cabinet."

Jerich rose, and left, calling for a pair of guards to escourt the older man from his office.
