Cain followed her, hoisting Ran to try to make him a bit more comfortable.

Resuming her pace she jogged towards the park...many things burdened her mind and she had nothing left to do. She started laps around the park, finally she was returning to her old routines. Her hair was pulled up into a high pony tail, her eyes were soft and unfocused.
She wore an orange miniskirt, her shirt was white and she wore white tennishoes. She didn't know why she was reverting back to her old ways...perhaps it was because Ran, (in being the stubborn jerk he had been before they became...more) drew her out of her old fashioned shell. Before she had fallen in love she had completly blonde hair, always wore armor and didn't know how to work a cell phone.
As of now she was slowly falling back into her shy old self...though she wouldn't go platinum blonde ever again...and she knew how to work almost all the electronics that came her way...in other words...since she was alone...she'd become anti-social.

::Nov leads them all to her apartment and lets them in. she then leads Ueten and Remi to her room and gets them settled, saying over her shoulder:: you can set Ran on the couch ::she grabs the first aid kit from under her bed and then goes to take care of Ran quickly and carefully. once he's as set as she's going to get him, she slips into the small kitchen to make something for all of them to drink::

He had done as she suggested and then watched as she did her best to patch him up. After she went into the kitchen he sat on the arm of the sofa, warpping his arms around his knees which were pulled to his chest. "Why did the two of you have to go and do such a fool thing as that?" he muttered, more to himself than his knocked out friend.

*Ran's face winced and he slowly opened his eyes. The area around him was blurry and he couldn't exactly make out where he was* W-Wha? *He tried to get up but cringed and slumped back down. The back of his head and neck were killing him. All he could remember, was being in the park with Cain, then nothing. What happened?*

She glanced around, seeing..as all heartbroken victims... loved ones talking, walking, playing and joking around. With every scene she could feel her heart begin to slow... now heavy and soaked with tears of her soul.
She silenced her self and turned up her portable cd player, the headphones now blaring. The lyrics played, running through her head like a drill...
"I slaugh with a frown, but that is the best smile i can put on now,
My mask now wet with tears, I'll just replace with another mask."
The song was called Cape of Hope and it helped her move along the path as she slowly turned towards a nearby tree. She leaned against it to catch her breath...continuing to listen, forcing herself to be happy.

::Nov came out of the kitchen with a tray of cups, various drinks in each of the cups. she hands one to Cain:: it's cocoa... something to help you calm down... ::she tells him before setting the tray down and offering another cup to Ran and saying to him:: it'll help with any pain you're feeling...

Cain took the cup and held it for a minute before sipping some of it. He just looked blankly at Ran for a minute and then gulped down half the cup, wiping his mouth and looking at him. "Thanks November." He realized he was acting a little strange but his eyes were tearing up an he closed his eyes, trying to avoid crying.

::seeing tears in Cains eyes, she nearly drops the cup she's offering Ran. instead she sets it down within his reach and goes to hug Cain:; what's wrong? we got Ueten back, Ran's... well... a little worse for the wear but safe... what.... what's wrong?

He shook his head. "Just, Kari-chan is gone." he said, burying his face in her shoulder. He couldn't even remember if he had told her yet or not but he couldn't hold in his tears any longer. He wrapped his arms around her and sobbed into her shoulder.

Hikari's... gone? ::she rubs his back gently, though she was throughly confused. he hadn't told her, but she knew from the way he was acting it had to be bad... what had happened that she didn't know about?::

Now he knew for sure he hadn't told her, but he wasn't going to say he that it was connected with Ran, he couldn't. He tried to stem his tears and sobbing long enough to tell her. "Hikari is dead." he said, sobbing again.
