Actually yes! A little while ago CIML(rabid cloti) posted on the forum making up crap. Of course they were proven wrong : D. and banned of course! And its so funny how his sig said "dude, quit stalking us man" when comes and lurks the CxA forum! Ah the hypocrisy xd

.[.pink.spider.]. *sigh* that was just a great way of putting it you know! I have to admit that seems these debates truly go past CxAxT. I love my pairing to death, that's obviously why I'm always on this thread xd Anyways, I debate only to prove what I believe is true and why I love this couple. I dont simply go because I dont have a life and I like to annoy people. It is as you say that simple. I must admit, (like yuu said, not targeted to all clotis just rabids) nowadays some clotis from how they talk etc, dont even truly like their couple. Sad really. We just need to learn that we are here to like what we like and enjoy that. Great point to bring up. I even forget sometimes, but I know that's the only reason I'm here. Because I love Cloud and Aerith. Mmm....I wonder if that really is the case. sweatdrop Can't always direct this to Cloti though.....we can always point it back at you. The same goes for the Cleris rabids too. A lot have a love for Cleris simply for frivolous reasons- that they look perfect together. Rabid Cleris always turn a blind eye to any prominent Cloti moments. They simply deny it. Generally, we all support those who "look" good with each other, of course. The real problem with both sides is that they are supporting their pairing with barely any reference or knowledge to the game/movie/novel/guides, etc...and most- irrelevant and false information. Alas...a stupid or controversial sentence always sparks a debate for crazy people like us.

Well yes of course theit will be rabids on both sides, but alot their are alot of rabid clotis in particular. Sure their are rabid cleriths as well but how many of them do you actually see? No offense but the rabid clotis stand out alot more and are far more direct than you would realize. Go to youtube, adventchildren.net, fanfic etc.
But please dont go crazy over this statement I just state what I see and as I said its to no one in particular if you want to know some rabids that I have noticed on the web I'd love to tell you who.

That really depends on where you are... When I lived in Ireland... the concept of rabid Cloti was nearly unknown, but Cloti was the less popular pairing. It was rabid Clerith's that ran rampant in Ireland. Here in America the balance of popularity seems to be more in the Cloti favor... as a result I seem to see more rabid Cloti then rabid Clerith's. I think it has more to do with the popularity of the pairing in the region than with the fans themselves.

I recently joined a Cloti forum-- two actually. Strife Heart, and then a general Cloti one. If you've heard of them... but, I've also looked through the CxA forums too. I noticed that BOTH forums contained a lot of rabid-ness. I thought more on the CxA side, but that doesn't mean that they are all that way, I realize. And being a rabid fan of something is fine, as long as you don't bite people's heads of for having different views. I am able to discuss the beauty of Cleris, even though I don't really support it at all. I'm able to do that with most pairings, as long as they have proof and make sense.

I find it interesting which pairing is more popular in each region....It's hard to really comprehend how and why it's like that. You'd have to put into fact the mindset of the people of each nation/province or whatever and add in with their culture, their traditions and how they accept things. So odd.....

Well its not really all that odd. Every region, every person has their own ideals and opinions, likes and dislikes. Many factors contribute, culture I think is one the most important. Culture truly influences who you are and how you percieve things. But that doesnt mean ALL people of a certain culture or place like one thing but the majority can go either way. Either balanced or towrds a certain side.

To this I just want to say why put emphasis on character. Simply because Aerith is a more liked character isnt the only reason Clerith is popular. I just wanted to say because I find it rude when people say I like Clerith simply because I like Aerith, its the same as saying that a Cloti likes Cloti simply because they like Tifa. Well that isnt true, for either side. So I just wanted to point that out, not saying thats what you meant I just wanted to say that ^__^

Yes I think you sumed it up well. Culture is a deciding factor, but not the only one.
You know what I find ironic? When Cloud's mother says
"You should have... an older girlfriend, one that'll take care of you. I think that would be the perfect type for you."
and then he meets Aerith, whom is older then him. I would say that's foreshadowing in a sense.

HA! I know I dont think its a coincidence man!
Square had no NEED to be add that statement but they DID add it.
What does that tell you?
That is a pretty big hint of who is best for Cloud.
It's intersting to note that is CLOUD'S MOTHER who says this, not some random person. And of course a mother knows her child better than anyone else, so she knows what is truly best for him. It is also interesting to note that she does not mention anything about TIFA. I mean they were neighbors so she must have known who Tifa was and what she was like. And even with that knowledge about Tifa, she doesnt not say that SHE is best for Cloud and doesnt mention her.
So that is OF COURSE foreshadowing, that the "perfect type" for Cloud would be some one who is older and can take care of him.(*cough*AERITH*cough*)
I think this is one of the biggest hints that SE has put in the game that prove CxA were intended as a couple in the game. Because...
MOTHER KNOWS BEST wink heart

But I DO find that an interesting piece of information! I never saw that connection! I think that could really mean something. ^^;
Actually, I recall his Mom saying that it would be nice for Cloud to see Tifa again, and Cloud said "Yeah". Unless that was someone else? I'm pretty sure that it was his Mom, though. x3
Oh yeah! And I agree with what you said, pink. I'm just saying that Cloti is a more popular pairing here, it seems; and Aeris a more popular character than Tifa. x3
