Jevan R. H. Divinitive A question on the history of Tyranids now. What caused the giant gaps in the history of Tyranid invasions? The Tyranids were first found in M35 and M36 on a few planets as very basic swarms. In late M38 the Tyranid Zoats, the slaves, arrived fleeing their masters. Then the first major Hive Fleet didn't arrive until 745.M41. How come there is a 2 thousand year gap between the first Tyranids and the Zoats, then anouther 3 thousand year gap between the Zoats and the first Hive Fleet. The only theory I can think of is several small scouting hives left their original, or last, galaxy in search of new worlds and they arrived in M35 and sent off a signal the Hive Mind picked up and started there 6 thousand year journey. This doesn't explain how the Zoats made it there 3 thousand years earlier unless for some reason there ships are twice as fast and they act as a Trojan Horse to infiltrate the galaxy before the main invasion. Insofar as we currently know; Travel time. Genestealers are the advance scouts of the 'Nids. We can only assume they were widely dispersed and never part of any particular hivefleet. Zoats had an odd backstory in being both Nid and not-Nid. They were an independent race with Tyranid origins; one would assume it was a failed attempt at producing thinking leaders that lead to a revolt or ignoring of the Hive Mind. IIRC, we may ignore them anyway, as I believe they have been retconned. After that, we can simply assume the Hive Fleets are arriving as thy turn about from wherever they are and head for the Milky Way. They aren't strategic enough to group up and arrive en masse, hence their staggered arrival. They're beasts hearing the cry of a companion, a psychic "Food here!" cry, and they're coming running from wherever they happen to be.

Zoats have been wiped out by both the Nids and the Imperium after they broke off from the Nids and tried to make peace with the latter. Though for the most part they are a bad reminder of the old days and like the Squats, not something to be remembered fondly.

The Tyranid might be a Hive Mind and have a structure similar to an ant colony, but they've basically consumed so much alien DNA that they may as well be a space-faring wolf pack. One finds meat and lets out a howl, the rest come running. To them, it's probably no more than the the minutes that seperate each wolf arriving at the site of a fresh kill, what, with time being relative and all :-b

Blackened Heart Sucubi NINJAFEX OR DEVILFEX GO!!! DISCUSS!! I get more trouble against Devilfexes, aka Dakkafexes. They have the potential or causing a hell of a lot more trouble through enemy lines and, with Spine Banks, can make a charge, punch a hell of a lot of damage, and clean up the leftovers in a single turn.

Anybody got rumors yet on what's gonna be in this bad boy?
In talking to some Nid players, here were the general hopes:
1) A real anti-tank gun. Either make Venom Cannons capable of actually killing in the new rules set, or add another boomstick sort of weapon.
2) More varied psychic abilities for Zoanthropes. This one was suggested almost in jest, but would be interesting to see.
3) The ability to field an all-Warrior army.

I want to see Carnifexs count as Troops instead of elites at lest then 115 points... cause then it would get truely horrific! 11 TMC and Some Elite Warriors to add more guns... OMG that would be incredible.
and i would love to see an anti-tank gun! im tired of wasting carnifexs to stun lock tanks while Winged Scythe-Rant gets there...
