Dark-oneechan I don't know what they have done to us under the new rules. But I loved some of the old tricks you could pull under the old rules. Ah we usually play 2000 point games. And there was this day where two consecutive battles first I cleaned up 2K of space puppies in H2H with the loss of 4 of my 20 guardians (2x 8 + weapon man units) to a total annihilation on turn 4. Then the second game was against blood angels 3 consecutive brightlance shots took out the fellows Vindicator his rhino and his land raider... All gone t1. I then proceded to annihilate him t3 to a man for no loss. Damn my lucky dice im in the middle to colecting my first army, biel-tan eldar, and am in kind of a fix. what should i buy next?? i have a wave serpent, 25 gurdians, 5 rangers, a walker, and a heavy weapons platform.

Andreis Yes, I understand fully what twin linked implies to. Firing in tandem or simultaneously, either way warhammer 40k does not aptly cover what twin linked would REALLY do. Anyhow, besides the point. Aye I actually DID learn from some people at the GW store that War walkers do not have their weapons linked. It just so happens that there are very FEW instances on vehicles where their are two fot he same weapon but they are not twin linked. Wraithlord couts weapons as twin linked.I am guessing, though I could be wrong, that the Imerial Predator Annihilator has only one set of twin linked Lascannons and that the sponson mounted ones are individual rather than twin linked. THAT is where I must have read it, thank you for clearing up my braaain. domokun

I'm pretty sure you should get an HQ choice so you can actually play.Unless you just forgot to mention it.

Indeed, and HQ choice would be nice. Also, if you're playing Biel-Tan, staying close to the fluff may be nice. Try to go heavy on your Aspect Warriors. It's fairly easy to do, especially considering that Dire Avenger catapults get six more inches of range than guardian catapults do. If you need the heavy weapons Guardian squads give, pick up some more War Walkers and outfit them.

King Kento Andreis I have come to a conclusion. Farseer with Warlock Entourage mounted on jetbikes would be SWEET. I was just thinking, imagine considering the formidability of farseer and warlocks in close combat mixed with the speed a +1 to save and toughness that a jetbike gives! Move 12 inches, Use psychic power + 10 shots from twin linked shuriken catapaults, move another 6 inches regardless of whether you are assaulting or not! And hell, if you need to get out of somewhere fast. Turbo boost! 24" move that makes all those 3+ saves invulnerable during the next enemy shooting phase. Whyd that take so long....?Because I never really liked Jetbikes for some reason. I like them now though! I would like to create a Saim Hann army eventually.

Following along with what everyone else has said. Well, if you want to stick close to the fluff around Beil-Tan, then you will want a good share of Aspect warriors. Dire Avengers are an excellent Troop choice and in themselves are an "Aspect" They are more expensive than guardians, as they are more skilled, get a leader upgrade and better weapons, however they are worth it, and it would be close to fluff. After that, there are many other aspects that are wonderful. It really depends on what you want, but for elites, well... Striking Scorpions - They are the favorite for Eldar Close combat units as far as I have seen. They count strength four in close combat and also have a +3 armour save. (The Best save an eldar can get) They are good all around at close combat and they also have a mandi-blaster which grants them a nice little Special close combat attack. Howling Banshees - These suckers are mean. Now, theya re not as well rounded as Scorpions, but every single howling banshee gets a power weapon. Power weapons ignore armour saves, cutting through armour with ease, so these are great at taking out heavily armoured men. Their strength as a whole is only 3 and their saves are also only 4+, compared to the better scorpions, buuuut... POWER WEAPONS. They will tear appart heavy armour units in close combat. Fire Dragons - Okay. Now these guys are cool. They take out armoured targets. Using fusion guns that are S8 and melta, means that from their maximum range, the weapons would deal at least S9 (S8+D6) buuut if they are within half range of their weapons. 6". Then they get an extra D6. So S8 with 2 rolls of a D6 for armour penetration. They will utterly destroy most any vehicle. Harlequins- I could not tell you a thing.. becuase I do not have the new codex. AFter that. I would suggest Warp spiders if you want fast attack. Heavy support? Hmm.. I dunno. Wraithlord, Warwalkers or Falcon are nice. If you want Aspect warriors. Then go for Dark reapers, though they are not really worth their points to me.

Then go for Dark reapers, though they are not really worth their points to me. well actually i find that the dark reapers r extrememly effective, especially with a Farseer. i used 2 take a unit of 5 with exarch with missile launcher and fast shot, so they get 8*S5 AP3 shots plus 2*S8 AP3 shots. guide them and they hardly ever miss, so they clean up most infantry units, or if ur lucky, the odd dreadnought with that rocket. but with the release of the new rules i havent used them much and im thinking of using that new gun with the blast template, its so effective against infantry but against armour dependent armies they end up a waste of points. and in my opinion, swooping hawks are better than spiders coz they can deep strike up to 3 times a game with their grenade packs, and the exarch can now pump out 6 assault shot that pin! but watch u dont overuse the deep strike coz that could cost u the unit.

Shinra1003 Why are Warhammer 40k models so expensive? The real question is why are you flogging a dead horse in the wrong thread?

-Mykal Hey, I play Eldar too - I just wanted to ask the question to fellow Eldar players as we all have to deal with the same prices.

The reason is that GW wants all your money and you want models so they trade you.

I like saim hann as an army list idea, but as for fluff, the infighting and all that seems really retarded for eldar seeing as theyre dwindling as it is. But oh well. Being unable to do my alaitoc as they were before and already having a thing for jetbike HQs, I guess Ill be going the way of a saim hann list with this codex.

Jaistilin plibbles 5 attacks on the charge sounds awesome . plus there extra bonuses sounds tempting when are they scheduled to release? They were released a long time ago but they just don't let you take them any more. i mean the newer models i was wondering when they would be released.
