Amagai Genji, the Investigation Team's Gentle Fist
"...You see the surface, but my eyes see more..."They were heading to Junes next, but that didn't mean they couldn't take a moment to reflect...a moment to take stock...and the look on Minori's face as they prepared to move forward towards the next stage of their journey in this world together told the berry-haired heir that he needed to take a moment with her. He could feel her deepening concern for him, the worry that filled her after she had seen his back wounded protecting her back at the Station, and it wasn't the first time that he had noticed her worrying over him...back on the very first day he had nearly been killed by the Trumpeter, the Red-Haired Fiend, the two of them having left him feeling so helpless and her so desperate to protect him that they had been separated from Soji for days. His expression softened when she looked at him, begged him practically to tell her if he was hurting...to not push himself, to not hide his injuries, to be honest with her, in essence, so that she would know that he was safe and he would not leave her. He made sure to take her hand before he spoke again, to afford her that small comfort...let her feel his hand in hers, touch him, know that he was there and he was real and he wasn't going anywhere without her there beside him. Sure, he was hurting, but he wasn't dying. She could trust him...always.
"I know what my limitations are, Minori. And I have no desire to worry you," he told her honestly, letting his thumb brush gently over the back of her hand, "If my wounds turn out to be worse than I anticipated, then I will let you know. We will do this together. You are all I have left...so you must trust me when I say that I will live for you...I will fight for you. But if possible, I would like to put off dying for you until we are much, much older..." Much older, with two girls, three grandchildren, and a whole lifetime of memories behind them. Peaceful memories together, in a world much different from this one. A world like the one they were trying to create right now. But to achieve that, they first had to...

Minori Koroko  His hand took hers, and Min felt the cold fear in her chest thawing, warmth taking over. Green eyes looked up at clear, ashen ones, and she knew he was so important, so precious to her. Genji was her pillar, the one that supported her. His soft smiles and gentle eyes when he soothed her with his words...the way his eyes would glint when he teased her... how his cheeks would color a pretty pink whenever she said something cheesy... or how he would take her hand, so gently, so tenderly...how he would kiss her and hold her close whenever she was feeling worried or sad or happy or excited.... she cherished all that. She loved all that.
So when he spoke, she looked into those eyes and saw all his feelings poured into those words. She saw the future they were fighting for...she saw how much he cared for her as well. And she smiled.
Relief and warm feelings washed over her; her hand reacting to his touch, intertwining their fingers just as she took a step closer to him and rested her head on his shoulder. She could feel the tip of her nose brushing against the skin on his neck, and for a moment, Minori closed her eyes, letting the feeling of being there with him sink in. She took in his scent, his warmth, his steady breathing and soft heartbeat. He was here...he was here, and he wouldn't go anywhere. "Thank you, Genji..." a soft murmur against his shoulder, but clear enough for him to listen.
She then pushed back, looking back at him with renewed strength. "I, too, will be here for you. Live for you, and fight for you." she would do anything for him. "And..." she added after a bit, "You can't die before me. Even if its years and years from now...and we are old and wrinkly in our home..."
Though just then...she heard the noise as well. Their moment was over, and they needed to get back to work. Her fears put aside, Minori turned to look at him, her hand still on his. "Let's do this." Minori Koroko The way to Junes had been infested with demons and people from different factions fighting each other. It had been a slow trip, avoiding a battle when they could and fighting when it was necessary...but finally, the blond girl could see the store close by. A sigh escaped her, as she turned to her boyfriend, giving him a faint smile that said 'we are almost there...just a bit more...'.
That was when she caught sight of a familiar head of silver hair approaching shyly. Minori recognized her from the fight with Fenrisulfr. She was the swordswoman that Soji had called for help...and what help she had been! "Ah! Yes. Minori Koroko. And you are Youmu, right? It's good to see you again." She was relieved to know that she was still out there, doing her part to bring back the world to the way it had been before. Her thoughts went out to Soji and Nix and Mataki...hopefully they would too be out there. Unharmed. Alive.
Minori smiled as the girl introduced herself, and the blond girl nodded in return, feeling a little sheepish at the formality. "I was -well, am- a Senior... Class 3-1. If you ever need anything, you know where to find me...when we get the world fixed, I mean." Minori smiled sheepishly, before waving her hand, as Youmu apologized for not introducing herself before. "Oh, no...we were busy back then. But, we are doing so right now, so it's okay, right?" "Heheh...I'm glad you're okay too." she called, as the girl told her class...and that she was an upperclassman, like Nekura.
"I'll be counting on you, Senpai." she called back, bowing to the girl again. "And...Yeah. Better late than never, I believe the saying goes?"
She bowed towards Genji as well, smiling warmly.
