sorry for not finished backlogging before i posted.. but when i saw this.. I just had to say somthing.. my son is this way also.. and I recently found out he is autistic. I strongly you ask your doctor about the possibility. and when your insurance comes back, try to get a referral to a neurologist. maybe it's not.. but hte earlier you find it out and start working with it; the better you can rehabilitate him to function normally for school. does he do a lot of repetitive things? like.. does he build the same structures most? or like to play the same games for long periods of time in same sitting?
I have had the kid's looked at by the pediatric doctor's and they said they are both fine. But, I knew they were both having problems with speech. At first I wrote it off as they are boy's and not the same as my daughter. She was speaking full sentences right after turning two. I didn't want to compare them too her.
I thought they had sign's of ADD. My 6 six year old used to shake his hand's when upset, scratch his face also when upset and he had problem's with making eye contact. I kept him out of school an extra year and worked with him, and he quit doing all those things. The people that evaluated him said that he does not have ADD. But, is having problem retaining information like ABC's and such. He also need's some speech help.
With the youngest he in my opinion he only had speech issues. But, they feel that there is more to it cause he has a slight temper and does not always do what you want. I feel most 4 year olds are like that. Both my other kid's went threw some temper issues at his age, but they outgrew it. As far as repetive actions I have not seen any. I feel he is having hearing issues. I will have to look into a neurologist. We are probably going to take him to an ENT Doctor first to get the hearing looked into more. Thanks for your advise on this. I didn't think about having a neurologist take a look at him just to be on the safe side.
