Sibyl had the question in mind and the character but as she was about to ask her question she realized she hadn't thought through how to word it and in attempting to word it everything just became jumbled. Her thoughts became jumbled and she eventually completely lost track of the point of her question and in doing so forgot what the intent of her question had been in hte first place, thus forgetting the question completely. However, where as a human would be embarrassed by such a thing and try to distract from the fact by changing the subject Sibyl gave a slightly feeble look and stated bluntly, "I forgot what I was going to ask ..."

She then smiled and began laughing softly as her form leaned back into the couch as her hands went to wrap around her stomach. However, she was clearly disciplined and her laughter soon ceased as she turned back to look at Jaden, not directly in the eye though there was a glint in her lavender ones. "I feel like swimming. I don't like pools so I'm going to go find a pond or something. You can come if you want but I don't know if you like swimming so it's up to you."

The wolf rose from the couch and began to search the house for a towel she could use when she remembered that this wasn't her place and that she was to ask if she could use such things. Living with Olathe had undisciplined her even more so than living in New York with an out of control lycan pack had. "Do you have any towels that I can borrow? I don't need one, I've got my fur but I really like towels, especially clean ones that have just been washed."

Jaden smirked and pointed to a small closet next to the bathroom. "Only towels are in there. Take as many as you like, I really don't use them.
Rising from his seated position he stretched. In that act dried blood fell off him in dark snowflakes. "I'm not really up to swimming. I grew tired of swimming after my trip to Japan. I'm sure you would have known that."

Before she made her way to the bathroom Sibyl stretched lazily, lifting her arms above her head and then bringing them behind her back to stretch her arms themselves. She then clenched her fingers and thus caused them to crack and then she made her way to the bathroom and draped simply one large towel over her shoulder. After that she made her way back into the living room and stood there for a moment and sat down for a few seconds before leaving.

"Yeah I probably should have remembered that you swam that far ... I remembered that you had but it didn't occur to me that you probably wouldn't care much for swimming after that ... The funny thing is is that water is probably the only thing I fear but I love it at the same time. My people, my pack believe that to drown is the worst death for one of us for to drown in the water means that our soul is forever lost and can never ascend and be reincarnated. Water is our most mortal enemy, which is strange in a way since it is an element."

"Water..." Jaden mused... "I've never heard of a soul being lost in something so conductive. Perhaps your family are paranoid for another reason." He brushed more flakes off of his body in an attempt to clean himself without water.

"Such stories are passed down through the elders of my pack so I have no idea if they are true or not. All I know is that all of their stories have an aspect of truth, whether it be a metaphorical meaning or the very story itself an experience. Sometimes they are used to frighten and keep us from doing things and other times they are believed. I for one do not intend to test such a legend but they believe that, for whatever reason, the soul is prevented from escaping from water. Perhaps because it is liquid itself, perhaps because water itself is purity or perhaps because the soul becomes weighed down by the water."

Sibyl noticed that he was cleaning himself and chuckled at the sight of him attempting to clean himself without water. Her lavender eyes reflected the black flakes she watched as they danced to the ground and she rose to assist him. However, instead, she decided to use her towel though once she began assisting she could not help but ask. "Why do you not use water to wash this off of you? It'd be much easier."

"I'd think the reasoning behind that was obvious." Jaden muttered as he ran his fingers through his hair and untangled it. "If I put myself under water then the blood comes to life again. Even if I wash it away it seems like I've killed twice over. Killed needlessly I might add."

Sibyl shrugged, she was an animal at the end of the day and blood honestly did not disturb her one bit at all because she'd been exposed to it almost everyday of her life one way or another. She didn't really understand how taking all the time to scrape away the dried blood was any better and yet she understood that the blood did come back to life. That was probably where they were different, though. Sibyl was indifferent to blood and yet at the same time she liked it for it was something that sustained her. Then again the prey was probably the reasoning behind why Jaden was so digusted.

"Killed needlessly, perhaps but you aren't the first and so long as forever is imminent for you I cannot say whether or not you will be the last. I attempted to stop you but I'm not much of a buffer though I suppose I was a good enough chew toy that you stopped to chew for a few moments before moving on."

The wolf had yet to realize, to inspect herself and she didn't realize that a visible scar now ran up the length of her neck as well as her right arm or would be leg if she were to be in her wolven form. She wasn't the most vain of people so she didn't check up on her appearance as often as others though she did somewhat pride herself in caring enough to try and look half decent. However, she hadn't combed or brushed her hair because she'd washed it so she had yet to look in the mirror and see how her reflection had altered.

Jaden smirked slightly. "I'm used to blood Sibyl. Mine and others. My disturbance is from the fact that I was not killing for food or to defend myself, I willing do those. Do you understand what it feels like to kill for no reason and be unable to control it?" He frowned, his face transforming from a forlorn youth into something filled with rage and torment.
Slowly his anger passed and he took a closer look at Sibyl. "I'm sorry about that too." he muttered, the left claw of his index finger flicking through the air to geasture at her neck and the massive healed wound now left there.

"I cannot say I understand for I've never experienced it for myself though I've seen the effects of what it does to you and I don't like it at all. It makes you sad and you feel bad for those people having died for no reason. It seems that it makes you angry as well."

It was clear that she was trying to understand but it was unclear as to whether or not she fully comprehended his burden. After all, she wasn't very accustomed to human emotions so guilt was not something she was very familiar with at all. She'd never had cause to be guilty though she'd experienced the emotion, unbeknownst to her a few times in her life span though not very many.

At first when Jaden gestured to her Sibyl was fine with it but then she became a slight bit confused as to why he'd bother pointing. She figured he was probably just inspecting it but her curiousity drew her to press her hand to her neck and she was surprised to find a scar there. Never in her life had Sibyl been scarred and she gently felt that the wound traveled down her neck and onto her arm.

"It's fine," she assured him softly as she stared at her arm in wonder and perplexion, continuing to brush her wound with her fingers and eyes.

"That will never heal." Jaden muttered darkly. "I've tried to help with others in the past. It's some god aweful trait of my fangs. They can penetrate to the soul so the flesh really stands no chance once marred." He placed to fingers from his right hand on her scar. "I can only hope that your soul isn't wounded."

Sibyl continued to feel the wound, clearly intrigued by it as opposed to horrified about it. When Jaden touched it, however, she'd been so occupied by the wound that his touch had alarmed her and caused her to actually flinch until she looked up and realized it was him. "I didn't expect it would, I've never scarred before so I suppose I should congratulate you on a job well done. My soul? I don't think my soul is wounded though I don't know how to speak with it as some in my pack can."
PostPosted: Fri Feb 06, 2009 11:09 pm

"irrelevant." he muttered. "But I'd know if your soul was injured. It changes personality greatly to suffer something like that." A small smile played sadly on his lips. "But I'm still sorry for having scarred you. It won't lead to a particularly great war story... you could mention to your pups how you faced down a creature that had slaughtered over ten thousand Lycans before you and gotten away only with that injury."

"I've plenty of other stories, stories from the elders of my pack, my own journies and life lessons, the ones I will learn in the future. As for this story, I don't need to try and make it sound as intense as that, though I suppose I could mention that for good measure to make the story slightly more interesting. If I am to tell that story, though, I think it would be best told from a perspective of how easily life is taken from us and how much we should come to appreciate even the simplest things. So long as we are healthy and well fed that is as much as we need. Of course we need our pack at first as well."

She smiled to Jaden, though and decided that she was probably going to save swimming for another day since she was enjoying simply talking to him. "I suppose," she said with a goofy grin, "I should thank you for a visible reminder of a story I can tell. It'll make the story all the more real if I tell it. Of course, I'll more likely tell my sister's pups than my own pups such a story. It can take many years and much patience to find a mate and I'm not particularly searching so if I find a mate I will be very grateful but also very surprised."

"Love can strike out at you from anywhere when you least expect it." Jaden muttered. "That's how it is in my experience anyway." He sat back down and continued running his claws through his hair, suprisingly not breaking a single strand. "But that's only one perspective on love. It's not always so clear cut."

"Love seems to be a lot of trouble if you ask me and I say this from observing others and hearing stories from and of others. My sister lost her mate and she would have been content to die along with him right then and there but I had to remind her that she had pups. Her pups were the only reason she stayed alive and I still fear she might leave them and the pack once they're of age. As for striking me, I don't intend to go looking for it and I certainly hope it doesn't strike me but if it does I suppose it's difficult to avoid an enemy that's invisible."

She continued to rub him with the towel as she listened to what he had to say though she had no plans for love at all. Not after what she'd seen it could do to people, not to mention to love someone was to give them power over you and that was something Sibyl did not like the sound of. She liked being in control of herself and she did not like anyone exploiting her weaknesses though she wasn't horribly shy about them. However, something about love seemed to cripple people and make them overlook things that were vital to observe.

It really did seem to be more trouble than it was worth as far as Sibyl was concerned. Of course, she'd never really known love or experienced it to her knowledge so she was certain that what she'd lived without as a pup she could survive without as she grew older. She had no intention of allowing her father to mate with her either, it didn't sit well with her at all. The idea was outrageous to her and somewhat sickening.

"Not to mention my father, with me as his chosen heir of sorts ... he wants me to breed within my own pack and there are no males there that I particularly wish to mate with. Of course many of them are strong and capable and I'm certain they'd make strong fathers but I don't know. Having pups is something that still seems odd to me even though it's instinct and mine's told me to mate. I think humans call it going into heat. That's what it is. I just hid instead, though. My father wanted to mate with me so our blood line would carry on and so that the strongest of the pack would be blended with the strongest and I didn't like the idea."
