The good thing about losing to a boss the first time meant that the second go around was easier simply because one could preempt the boss's moves. That first bite had been a doozy, but Kousagi was prepared for the voices. When they sounded behind her she only ducked her head down and kept running. Even the insistent voice that rang "Oi oi oi" over and over again wasn't enough to make her turn around. She continued to scurry, a mouse running from the too large cat. [ THE CHASE PART 4a ] Like a boss tossing back a cold one, she tossed the potion bottle down to the ground after drinking it, wincing at the resulting SMASH as it hit a rock on the forest floor. Her foolish action alerted the beast to her location, and the sound of thundering footsteps came along with the feel of hot breath breathing down her neck again. She found herself wishing at that moment that her wings in this dream space were actually useful, instead of decoration, and that the tail that she had acquired in making the choice in job class wasn't quite so long... If she wasn't careful she was going to trip and kill herself like this. She was up again, and the creature had respawned to it's place again, the sound grating on her ears as it swiped out again. This time, the pain was a little more defined when she felt the claws rake her originally, but it didn't stop her from fleeing as hard as she could.

The woods shake, and a strange steam, a smoke emits from the branches. You hear loud cracks as the trees part in the distant and terrified voices. "It's coming! It's coming!" Little odds and ends, little pocket watches with feet and rabbits with pocket watches run away, birds with trumpet beaks hop past you. They all say the same thing.
"It's coming!"
Wiz watched as all the animals ran by her in sheer terror, confusing the poor girl. She understands she's a bit off her rocker sometimes, but she couldn't be THAT terrifying!
"Whats coming!? why is everything running so fast?!"
It grows silent and the woods are never silent.
Wiz for once in her life, is actually afraid.
She hears giant thundering footsteps, her legs begin to wobble and she takes a step back, seeing the being rummaging through the trees, looking for a quick meal..
The Jabberwock has spotted her, with its single burning eye. It lunges its long, long neck towards her, twisting through the trees and takes a bite - SNAP! Your pocket card kindly informs you that you only have 10 HP left. Wiz yelps and quickly ducks, avoiding the large white teeth that tried to take another chomp.
She picked up her speed. Apparently, she didn't run fast enough. Wiz nearly stumbled over her feet and yelped again when the jabberwocky took a nice chunk out of her bottom, in which her pocket card promptly reminded her that she had lost 4 hp.

No time to dwaddle, really no time at all! The girl continued on, putting her head up just in time to see the road split off onto two path. One left, one right, one with a heal, one with a clock. Clocks reminded her of someone nice, so she hustled toward that, slowing down just a little to bend and snatch the clock up. A flash of claw caught her elbow and she almost dropped her new found object, but her tail helpfully wrapped around the item to steady it and Kousagi only squeaked once as she kept hurrying along. She tumbled head over tail, rolling for a few yards before landing hard against a nearby tree. "Oww...." [ THE CHASE PART 5 ] She lay there on the forest floor, eyes closed as she waited for the best to bring her death. When she didn't feel fangs closing down around her she opened one eye slowly... And then the other, blinking as she glanced around. Her tumble had taken her just outside of the darkest part of the forest, out beyond the reach of the Jabberwock. She had made it. She was safe. For now... As she ran the forest began to thin, slightly at first and more and more until Kousagi could see the break where the woods stopped and she would be free. A laugh left her and she ran faster, excited to finally be free of this terrible boss. But it apparently had one ace still up its sleeve and with a great cry lunged forward for her. A great woosh of air came before its attack, the only warning the girl received from the creature. But it was enough. With a cry she turned, mid-run, and tossed the clock at the thing. She hadn't wanted to part with it, but desperate times called for clock throwing. It seemed to work well as it flew right at the Jabberwock's one white eye, effectively buying her time to turn around and run to freedom. The mouse burst out into the sunshine with a triumphant cry, happy to do a victory dance right on the outside of the forest's edge. One last angry shake from the forest derailed that dance quite quickly, but Kousagi didn't mind. Achievement Unlocked! It was quiet....TOO quiet.
Wiz stopped and turned around only to scream in terror as teeth was the last thing she saw before everything went black.

There was nothing - the creature seemed to have disappeared on her - possibly to stalk out some other poor soul. She didn't trust it though, and as fast as she could, she took off, running for the edge of the shadows, unwilling to test her fates.
