"If we can find where they live," Earendil added.

Shiro tilted his head thoughtfully. "Well, Wren knows where the clinic is," he pointed out. "Why don't we look there?"

"Kyrie also gave me directions to her house, in case of an emergency," Wren added softly. "So if she's not at the clinic, we can check their house, too."

"Sounds like a plan," Earendil agreed. "Maybe we should let Kaito and Andarien be for now. If they're still asleep when we get back, we can wake them then to pack their things."

He turned to Miyuki. "Do you know if Lancaeriel is still asleep?" he asked her. He hadn't seen her yet that morning and had no idea if she was still in their room or if she'd gone out already. Wren had been up early after all.

Even as Miyuki finished speaking, Lancaeriel entered the dining room and came to join the others. After greetings were exchanged, Earendil explained to her their idea to find Kyrie and move out of the city. Lancaeriel politely declined the invitation for her to join them.

"I'll take the time to have some breakfast and get my things together," she explained. "There's something I'd like to do here before we leave the city, and if I do it while you're looking for Kyrie, you won't have to wait on me later."

"Do you need any help?" Wren asked curiously.

Lancaeriel smiled softly and shook her head. "Thank you, but no," she murmured. "It will be easier if I'm on my own."

Lancaeriel smiled and nodded. "Yes, I'll be here. If I'm not in our room, I may be here in the dining room, but I should not be further away than that."

"Then we might as well head out," Earendil decided, rising to his feet. He pushed his chair in and waited for the others to join him.

"Hopefully we won't be long," Wren added with a grin. "Though I suppose you never know."

The group was quite familiar with how things seemed to always happen to them, after all.

Earendil chuckled softly and ushered Lin towards the dining room door. "Yes, yes, off we go."

As had been the case the day before, the streets were filled with men, women and children, all busy going about their business: the market was crowded and noisy, people shouting their wares, greeting each other loudly, children playing together, chasing each other through the sea of bodies.

"Certainly is lively," Shiro quipped as they made their way down the street.

"Definitely the loudest place I've ever been," Wren laughed. "It's kind of nice, though."

Wren laughed and put one arm around Miyuki's shoulders, drawing her close.

"Of course I do!" she said enthusiastically. She swept her other arm outwards, gesturing towards the people around them. "Look at them all! It's a healthy, happy population! They're not struggling to recover from decades of war, or having their children stolen away from them, or at strife with the nations around them! They don't have a decimated population, they're not in want for anything. It's beautiful! A good ruler's dream!"

Wren chuckled and looked around as well. "Yes, I suppose it is quite loud," she agreed. "Though I would imagine it has something to do with the rock ... if there were trees, they would block much of the noise, I'm sure, and it would be much quieter."

They arrived very quickly at the clinic, and Earendil stepped ahead of the others to get the door for them.

"I'm sure it will be nice and quiet inside," he grinned at his daughter and his cousin as they headed inside.
