Feline was floating in a cold three dimensional blackness that was filled with blue circles overlapping each other till they formed a matrix like pattern. She was curled up into a fetal position with her wings flared out behind her. The blue patterns seemed to rush past her and stay in the same place all at once.
She wasn’t sure how she got here, but something kept tickling the back of her mind like an annoying buzzing insect. She shooed the nagging sensation away and looked about her, marveling at the quiet stillness of this place. It was as if she had always existed here. She found that she could not remember a time that wasn’t of this place.
In the distance she spotted a tiny point of brilliant white light. It slowly began to grow and come towards her at the same time. The light was singing a song to her, it was like a soothing lullaby that spoke of pure bliss and happiness. It promised the end of all pain, suffering and loneliness; offered everlasting peace and joy. It danced hypnotically before her eyes as it drew closer and larger.
Feline laughed the laugh of a small child and slowly began to reach out to the light that whispered it’s sweet promises in her ear.
She then frowned in annoyance as the nagging sensation that she was missing something tickled the back of her brain again. Shaking her head to clear out that tiny voice, a golden light caught the corner of her eye. The light seemed very familiar to her, but she couldn’t place why. The tiny voice that had been tickling the back of her head cried out in joy and began to pester her even more.
She shook her head even harder, very confused by what was going on. The white light seemed to come to a halt and retreat a little when the golden light appeared. She cried out in childlike pain and loss at having been abandoned by it, but her loss didn’t last long as the golden light started to grow in power and brilliance.
The nagging feeling in her brain suddenly found a voice.
“Friends!,” it cried out. Feline was confused, but felt herself drawn by this golden light in a very passionate way that was a brilliant counterpoint to the lack of deep vibrant emotion that the white light had possessed.
“Friends!,” The voice in her head cried out stronger and this time Feline let it envelop her. Memories started to flow into her. They started as a gentle stream and opened up with the force of a raging river.
Images flashed in her brain of people and places that seemed so familiar to her. The image that was foremost of them all was of a boat, but everything seemed to get confusing as she tried to focus on it.
The golden light slammed into her chest and enveloped her at the same time. Feline felt something catch a hold of her and drag her down through the column of golden light with a gentle yet forceful grip. She felt an overwhelming peacefulness overcome her as she was pulled and gently settled into her body with the care of a mother putting a child to bed.
She was struck by the odd sensation of air filling her lungs. She filled her lungs with air again testing out this alien yet ever so familiar feeling. The smell of salt hit her full force, almost overwhelming her awakening senses. She found her body awareness coming back to her. Her eyes fluttered a little wishing to open themselves and see if she was truly where she thought she was.
She slowly opened them and was greeted with the sight of a green haired angel that was surrounded by a fading golden light.
The High Priestess Lorika, her returning memories named this sweet angel of light.
Feline’s eyes fluttered again and then found herself pulled down into a deep sleep as her body recovered from the events of the day.
