Hikari knew that she had to act, and act fast. Whatever that statue was, it was powerful, and for some reason, she wanted it. Or rather, the voice in her head wanted it. It also wanted hearts. Lots of hearts. Standing towards the back of the group, she drew up her hood, hiding her hair and most of her face. "Let's go," she said and quickly ran towards the palace, jumping and darting between the guards as they tried to figure out how to attack the ferocious dragon that was assaulting their ruler's home.

Sora nodded at Mulan and then at Kairi. "I think we should just try to get inside the palace. Then maybe we can talk to the Emporer from there," he theorized.

Axel looked at the group and then at the fleeing form that was Hikari. "It looks like someone's already gotten that idea," he said casually.

Sora's eyes widened at the sight. "H-Hikari wait!" he called after her, but she was already near the towering entrance.

Hikari ran forth, her eyes locked with the barriers that kept the Emporer safe from all the dangers inside. She still needed Alexander, and couldn't go much farther without him. Upon seeing her, a few of the guards came after her with their swords, one of them recognizing the black coat from when Riku visited this world. Hikari didn't summon her keyblade, however. She planned on using it, but didn't want Sora or the others to see.

Alexander watched as Lakayna commenced her attack on the palace. "A bit ironic don't you think? We're using a dragon as a distraction in a world known as the land of dragons." He spoke quietly and shrugged his shoulders. It was then that he saw Hikari take off towards the palace, dodging and fighting guards as she needed. He also heard Sora protest her method of attack. "Oh well, I guess the cat's out of the bag now." Alexander chuckled softly to himself and put the hood of his cloak back on, covering his hair and easily shrouding his face in shadow.

"Why don't you guys leave it to those of us who aren't afraid to get things done however they need to be done." Alexander said simply before running in the same Direction Hikari had headed. As he ran the cloaked boy raised his hand as light and dark thorns began to appear out of thin air. He jumped on top of them and rode them towards the castle, easily gaining speed. When he reached Hikari he held out his hand towards her, ignoring the guards around them. "Need a lift my little dark princess?" He asked in an odd tone that seemed half is own and half his father's with a crooked smile across his lips. At the same time Alexander held out his other hand and called his keyblade to him.

Kairi

Princess of Heart

While Kairi waited for Sora to reply, Lakayna spoke to them through her mind asking them to hurry up and find the statue. She wasn't sure how long she could distract the guards. "Right," Kairi thought back to Lakayna. Sora then answered the crimsonette's question suggesting that they talk to the Emporer. "That's what Mulan went to go do," the Princess said reminding the brunette, "But I guess we should head in that direction anyway. The statue seems very important so I'd imagine that it'd be very close to the Emporer." And with that Kairi started walking in the direction that Mulan and gone running off to.

Kairi had only walked a few paces before she stopped and turned around, for Axel had said something and Sora had just called out Hikari's name. The red head turned around and saw that Hikari and then Alexander were running towards the palace's main entrance. "What are they doing?!! " Kairi exclaimed. That was not part of the plan! Mulan had told them quite clearly to try not to be seen. Before Alexander ran after Hikari to told the rest of the group to leave it to the ones who aren't afraid to get things done however they needed to be done. "I won't leave anything to him!" Kairi thought hotly to herself. She looked around at Sora, Riku, Naminé, and Axel. "Come on let's go."

We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend.

Hikari looked up at him when Alexander suddenly appeared and then asked if she needed a lift, calling her his little dark princess. "Don't get too full of yourself, Randaele" she said, taking his hand and pulled herself up. She then drew out her own Dark Keyblade and made a vertical slash at one of the large windows, breaking it with a loud clatter and looked back at Alexander. "We need to get to the Emperor before the rest do," she told him. "I don't care what Nobodies or Heartless you use. We just need to get there," she told him, giving him free rein to use his powers.

Sora's eyes widened when Hikari and Alexander disappeared from view. He looked at Kairi and nodded in agreement and looked to Riku, Axel and Mulan. "Come on we gotta catch them!" he said and started running, though going more along the lines with the plan and going around so that he wasn't so noticeable among the guards.

Axel just sighed when everything was happening. Why did he come back, again? He then grinned at the chance for a fight. "Looks like things are heating up!" he said, summoning his Chakrams.

Alexander raised his eyebrow at Hikari's use of that name. "It's been a long time since I've heard that name, especially since Randaele no longer exists. He died when his heart was devoured by the darkness." The nobody commented with a shrug before continuing into the palace through the opening Hikari had made. "And why would we need to get to the Emperor before the others? I thought this was a group effort for your friend." Alexander asked casually wit a small grin .

He had no intention of using his nobodies, even though Hikari had given him permission to do so. For one it wasn't her permission to give, and two he had told the others he wouldn't. While it was true that Hikari was the person he was most interested in in the group, he did want to earn the others' trust. And frankly, using nobodies was not the way to do it. Alexander watched as one of the palace guards came at him with what he thought of as a crude fighting stance. The teen raised his hand as he jumped off of his thorns and watched as the twilight magic turned direction and hit the man square in the chest, knocking him unconscious but not truly harming him.

Once that was taken care of Alexander looked back at Hikari. "Now, could you please explain why we are now racing against your friends to find a statue that as far as I was meant to believe was meant for the dragon's sake?" He asked in a calm voice, not really showing any emotion, or remnant of one as it were. While he asked the question though he had no problem knocking out a few more guards and going deeper into the palace. He wanted their trust, but he also wanted to have some fun, and while easy this was fun.

What the hell is taking them all so long? she asked herself, starting to get frustrated.
The men were finally gathering their corage and attacking her as one. Sure, their thrown spears bounced hamlessly from the scales of her body, an the swords failed to do much painful damage; but Lakayna knew she was outnumbered. It might be a more even match-up; were both her front claws free and she wasn't actually holding back.

Mulan had long since left the others behind as she'd raced through the Imperial Palace, towards the Emperor's private corridor. Guards stopped briefly to either nod their heads or bow lightly to show their respect to her before racing on. Though it was rude, Mulan didn't have the time to return the gesture. She had to get to the Emperor, and fast. Within a few minutes, the chinese woman reached the hall that led to the Emperor's room at the far end. Racing down it, she rushed to the door, skidding to a stop before it and turning her eyes to the person standing watch. Shang.

Her heart sped up as she looked at him and he called out her name questioningly. Mulan placed a fingers to his lips and spoke quietly. "You've got to get the Emperor out of here. It's important. Get him somewhere safer, only for a bit. I wouldn't ask you to do this unless it's something really important. You know that." She said gently. Shang frowned around her hand, then grasped it in his lightly. He told her he'd try but he didn't really know if it would work. Considering that this was the safest place for the Emperor. All of his personal guards, all the best were inside with him. Mulan frowned, frustrated. Fine. Then she'd have to go in. She told that to Shang and he had no problem with it. After all, she was a part of the Emperor's personal guard as well.

Mulan walked ot the door, placing her hand on the handle... And then she heard the unmistakable sound of glass being shattered. The young warrior froze before releasing the door handle and spinning around. Shang had already drawn his sword and a flash of silver gleamed as Mulan followed suit. The two stood side by side, barring the way to the Emperor's chamber. The sounds of fighting were getting closer and two figures came into view at the far end of the corridor. Surprise flshed through Mulan's features as she recognized them. Hikari? And that boy, Alexander? What were they doing?! Mulan only tightened her grip on her sword, refusing to let them through, even if they were a part of Sora's group.

"They're no friends of mine. I'm only here for one thing: to repair what Sora tore down," she said coldly. She then saw a warrior run at her, his sword above his head ready for a forward slash. Hikari didn't even hesitate as she jammed her keyblade into his heart, turning it as the man's body faded away and a pink heart floated away into the sky. When the area was clear of guards, Hikari turned away. "The only person who would know where the other half of the statue is is the Emperor himself. But a man of his stature wouldn't just tell us where it is. There's only one solution to get an answer from him. Let's go," she said, walking forward. She looked ahead and saw the chinese woman and a man, guarding a door with their swords drawn. Hikari recognized the woman as Mulan. "I guess we found the place," she said. "Move aside," she told Mulan and Shang venomously, almost challenging them to fight her. Their hearts would be a very welcome addition to her collection, indeed.

Kairi

Princess of Heart

Sora looked at Kairi and nodded in agreement. He looked at the others and told them they had to catch Hikari and Alexander. The brunette then started running, sticking to the plan of trying not to be seen. "Right!" Kairi said and she took off running after Sora, the others in pursuit. Axel, who was near her, seemed to anticipate a fight and summoned his Chakrams. The Princess didn't want to result to violence, but after she heard a loud crash of what sounded like glass being broken she feared that she'd have too. What were Hikari and Alexander doing?! She felt she could trust them, but now... Could she really? Kairi suddenly thought. She hardly knew Hikari, and she had only just met Alexander. They were both strangers to her.

After hearing the shattering sound Kairi sped up and summoned her Keyblade.
She kept running as fast as she could and then suddenly skidded to a halt, almost crashing into Sora. Before her, guarding the way to the Emperor's chamber, stood Mulan and a Chinese man whom the crimsonette assumed to be Shang. Across from them stood Riku's sister and Xemnas's son. All of them had their weapons drawn. If there was going to be a fight Kairi wasn't going to stand around and watch. Though she barely knew any of them: Mulan, Shang, Alexander, and Hikari; Kairi felt in her heart that Shang and Mulan were on what she thought was the right side. She ran over to them and stood by Mulan, holding her Keyblade before her in a battle stance. "We're here for you Mulan," the crimsonette told the female warrior. Kairi wasn't as good a fighter as Sora and Riku, but she had improved a lot since she had first obtained her Keyblade from Riku. After the three of them returned to the Islands after their journeys, Kairi had asked her two best friends to teach her how to better wield her Keyblade. At first they were against it, but they finally gave in unable to withstand the Princess's pleading. They were excellent teachers and thanks to them Kairi was a much better swordswomen now.

We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend.

Lakayna's muscles tensed up to almost a point where she was unable to move. Of course, she still had to defend herself against the onslaught of the soldiers' attacks. The young dragoness was beginning to get worried. At least half an hour had already passed, and still nothing. She opened her mind up to only a few of her friends, for she was actually beginning to lose energy. Those friends happened to be Kairi, Axel, and Namine.
"What's taking so long?" she asked them, "The statue shouldn't be so difficult to find."

~Alexander~
~Heir to The World That Never Was~

Alexander had followed Hikari all the way to the room before the throne room, but after hearing what she said he stared incredulously at her. "Hikari, I don't like Sora for obvious reasons, and hell I don't even like your brother but I am trying to do what's right. And well.. I don't think that what you're doing is the right thing. We will not harm anyone more than necessary." His voice held finality on the last statement. Alexander's thoughts were all jumbled in his head. He truly wasn't sure whether he should trust Hikari's opinion on this or not. He definitely felt most comfortable around Hikari, but that was because she was probably the closest to him. However, that should be te exact reason why he shouldn't trust he judgement on this if it conflicted with that of all the others. He was trying to be a better person, or shell of a person.

Alexander turned to Mulan just as Kairi arrived, his keyblade still in his hand. Unlike Kairi though he didn't use the Chinese woman's name, for fear of getting her in trouble since he and Hikari had actually broken into the palace. "Young woman, please go see your emperor and ask him where the statue we seek is. Tell him that if he tells us where it is, and speaks the truth, we will leave the palace with it and harm no one else. However, if either of you should refuse I cannot be held responsible for what my friend here does to the rest of the palace's population." Alexander's voice was strong, but held a sense of urgent pleading in it.

Naminé
Miss Memory Witch

Naminé had gone with the group, watched as Mulan ran off. The petite blonde was highly tempted to run after the chinese warrior as she had an inkling as to where the statue was held. In the Emperor's private corridors. However, Naminé had stayed with Kairi and the others, listening as the Princess and Sora spoke to one another about where to begin looking. And then Hikari ran off. Naminé turned her eyes to the girl, automatically reaching out a hand to snatch Hikari's robes to keep her from leaving. But she was too fast. Riku's twin was gone, and after a moment of hesitation, Alexander ran after here. The petite blonde stared after them in disbelief. Something wasn't right. There was something off about Hikari... Naminé was able to sense it in the darkness radiating from her.

Naminé had chosen to give Hikari the benfit of the doubt, as she was Riku's sibling and seemed to have changed her ways. But... now could she really trust her? Sora took off running after Hikari and Kairi raced off as well. After a brief moment, Naminé glanced at Riku, the look in her eyes hard to read. She opened her mouth to speak but she turned away and raced after the Keyblade Master and the Princess. The Nobody caught up with them in time to see Hikari and Aledander standing across from Mulan and whom she recognized through Sora's memories, as Shang. The two chinese Warriors stood side by side, weapons drawn and ready to die to protect their Emperor. Naminé walked forward, her own Keyblade appearing in her hand. "Hikari, stop. This isn't you," the girl stated, her brilliant blue eyes locking onto Hikari's form. She walked over to Kairi, standing beside the Princess and taking up a stance that looked identical to the crimsonette's. Like Kairi, Naminé didn't really know how to fight much but she'd observed the different styles of Sora, Riku and Roxas and had managed to use their techniques and convert them in a style all her own. She knew enough to keep herself alive and take care of herself. But would she know enough to take Hikari down?

The amount of venom in Hikari's voice surprised Mulan. She'd thought the girl to be a part of Sora's group, a girl who wanted to help them. But it seemed as though she'd double-crossed them. That thought, coupled with the fact that Hikari seemed to want to get to the Emperor steeled Mulan's determination. The chinese warrior's dark eyes glinted and she sank a bit more into her stance. "No. No one is aloud into the Emperor's chambers except for that of his guards and the few people privileged to do so. If you try to force your way through, we will fight." Mulan replied, her voice strong, calm and collected. Beside her, Shang edged forward, keeping a light grip on his sword for better use of the weapon. His eyes never left Alexander and Hikari. Especially Hikari.

When Alexander spoke, Mulan listened but didn't give him her full attention. She shook her head lightly, her hair falling from the ponytail as the band slid out of it. The dark curtain of locks fell about her face and though it would hinder her sight, she made no movement to put it back. Kairi, Sora and Namine ran up, but she didn't look at them. "I cannot. If I do, there is a risk that the Emperor would be harmed. I can no longer trust your words or promise. You've broken into the palace and I know you're most likely harmed the guards. There is to be no negotiations. That is the law. You're no longer welcome here," Mulan replied, her tone a bit stronger as her words were directed at Alexander. She knew that unlike Hikari, the boy seemed to not want to hurt innocent people and she'd caught the pleading in it. Yet she coud not give into him. She would not risk her Emperor getting hurt. She'd die first.

Alexander shook his head in disbelief, How could Mulan really say no to his offer. "I don't even care about seeing him myself. How is there any risk to him if we don't even o in his chamber? I promised that no harm would come to the Emperor if you would merely go and ask him yourself and I meant t. I have no intention of harming anyone else unless it is wholly necessary. As for the other gaurds, well I did not kill any of them. The worst I did to them was knock a few unconscious because they tried to kill me." He left out the part about Hikari showing no such mercy. Alexander's voice wasn't so pleading anymore but it was still as kind as possible in the situation.

He sighed heavily and placed his hand that was not holding the keyblade over his face. "Now please, just give us what we need. I truly don't want to harm any of you. I just want what we need." He looked at Hikari, a little sadness in his eyes. He could tell that she was even deeper into the darkness than she had been previously, and he for some reason feared for her. Unlike himself she had a heart to lose, and the darkness most certainly would take that from her. The young boy then looked to Namine and Kairi. "I don't mean any harm to any of you. I came here to help you but..." He couldn't find any words t finish the sentence and merely looked away from the girls. "I said before that I would do what was necessary to get the statue and I will. I don't want it to come to more violence but if you continue like this, against all reason, then I see no other choice." Alexander said simply in a defeated tone of voice that sounded almost as if his resolve were breaking.

Mulan was torn. She trusted Alexander much more than she trusted Hikari, yet she still was unsure. The chinese warrior looked to Shang, but her love's dark eyes were unfathomable as he kept his gaze steady on Hikari and Alexander. The young woman bit her lip lightly, edging closer towards the door. She could ask where the statue was, but she knew the Emperor wouldn't give it up. Not to Hikari at least. She knew he'd give her the statue.... An idea popped into Mulan's mind but she wasn't sure of it yet.

"Why do you want the statue, anyway? We all came here for it, remember? It doesn't belong to you, you have no right to claim it. It's Lakayna's. And it will help her get back to her form. It's of no use to you." Mulan said. She knew that once she asked the Emperor, Hikari would rush in and grab it. After all, it was what she wanted. There was no choice but to go through with her idea, and hope that Sora and the others could keep Hikari preoccupied for a few minutes. "Alright," she sighed, lowering her eyes to the ground. "I'll do it." Beside her, Shang glanced at her in surprise before hurriedly looking back to Hikari. The look on his face was dissaproving. He'd talk to Mulan later, most definitely.

The look on Mulan's face was that of shame as she slipped behind her friends and opened the door, slipping inside and closing it. To her surprise, she spotted the Emperor as soon as she turned around and in his hands, was the other half of the statue. "The moment I laid eyes upon the dragon, I knew. This belongs to the dragon, and to it only." He said, his eyes gazing at the female warrior. His gaze always made her feel like a child and after a long moment, he nodded. "I don't know what this has to do with you, Mulan, but you must get the statue to the dragon." The Emperor said, holding it out.

Mulan nodded, determination in her eyes. Bowing, she took the statue from him, gripping it tightly. Turning from the Emperor, after bowing once more, she let her eyes fall upon the elite guards about the room. "Do not let any enter here." She ordered and they nodded, forming a formation around the Emperor. Mulan cast a glance at the door, knowing it was too thick for any to hear anything outside of it so her conversation was safe. Hopefully, Hikari and Alexander would still think she was trying to convince the Emperor to tell her where the statue was and that would buy some time. Racing across the room, Mulan left through a secret door disguised as part of the wall and she raced along the corridor that led outside to the side of palace. She raced along it, heading towards the courtyard, in clear view of Hikari and the others if they glanced through a window. Mulan was still a ways away from Lakayna but she was determined to get there.
