Elasa frowned. "I sense a dark presence here, but not from those two," she said, nodding to X23 and Daken. Granted, the male definitely gave off hostile vibes. "From what I can tell, they have their own problem and are on no-one's 'side'."

Kesshou looked at him and then slapped her forehead. She had forgotten that she herself could cast illusions fairly powerful illusions and that made it easier for her to see through other mutant's castings. She had wondered why the woman had been fuzzy and out of sync of sorts.
Kesshou pointed the illusion caster out. "She's casting a pretty powerful illusion. I can cast illusions as well and tend to do the same thing at times. It makes for a great sneak attack."
She looked back to her friend. "Oh by the way. Don't mind the mansion. It's not really there. It got blown up just two days ago."

Elasa blinked. "I know, I can see it clear as day," she said, and then added: "Illusions and telepathic attacks have no effect on my people. We're immune to them."

(It was explained in the brief fanfic I never bothered to finish that Elasa's kind are generally immune to telepathy and similar forms of mental intrusion. The antagonist in her story was able to enter her dreams while she was unconscious, and thus that was how the immunity was bypassed. Ganthet's attempts failed because he couldn't do such a thing. As for force fields and bio vampirism, Elasa would be forced to rely on her ring for protection from that.)

Kesshou nodded. "I am sorry. I did not know this." She smiled slightly at Elasa. "So should we leave these to fight their own battle then? I think that my friend Oracle might be in danger. I smell her but I can't pinpoint where the scent is coming from."
Kesshou's smile faded as a worried look took over her face.

The roar of an engine could be heard over the ruins of the Institute. A sleek red motorcycle along with it's rider skidded onto the pavement of a back road, appearing suddenly from a portal of dark energy. The rider was in civilian clothes- sneakers, dark jeans, a zipped up black hoodie and a dark red motorcycle helmet. On his back was a black pack.
Tim wasn't sure what he'd find after Nightshade opened a portal for him from the middle of Gotham's traffic jams to the seemingly destroyed institute. For the time being, he kept the helmet on... a secret ID was still a secret ID to him, especially with trouble just around the corner. In Tim's case, trouble was right infront of his face. Jumping into the middle of a fight between two strangers was not on his to-do list, so instead he drew his attention to an all too familiar face- to his amazement Oracle was wheeling towards the fight.
He lept from his cycle and sprinted for Babs, pulling out his collapsable staff from his pack that was still hanging off his shoulders. Robin knew that Babs, being a sensible intelligent person, wouldn't wheel into a fight in this manner... and he wasn't sure which factors were getting her to do this. She had spoken of a 'Scarecrow' effect in her transmission, seeing illusions... what if she didn't stop if he simply stood in front of her?
"Oracle, stop!"
Tim clicked the staff to it's fullest length and approached the path she would be taking if she were to continue in the same direction. He stopped, pulled his arm up and quickly pierced the ground with the end of his staff. It sunk deep into the dirt, and Tim stepped back a little.

When Barbara bumped into Tim's staff, at first she thought she run into a small tree that she didn't notice somehow. Then, she heard and recognized Robin's voice. When she focused on that voice, suddenly what appeared to her as underbrush, she now clearly saw Tim in civies with his staff.
Oracle's mouth dropped wide open as she now realized that she was wheeling toward Daken's and X23's fight, "Oh my.... Damn, just like Scarecrow's fear gas. Thanks Robin."

Robin held to the top end of his staff as Oracle bumped into it, just to make sure it didn't budge from the ground. After Barbara clearly had the realization of reality spred across her expression, he nodded and pulled the staff out of the ground with a grunt. Relief took quickly in the boy's voice as he replied.
"Well, I know that scared me..... any chance this will help, if it's like fear gas?"
Tim held up his fist next to his head and rapped a couple quick knocks against the motorcycle helmet that he was wearing. Even his expression was unreadable, with the visor as dark as it was. Like most head-gear found at the cave, the helmet had it's own set of filters... very useful when dealing with some kind of fumes or air toxin.

Elasa frowned. The two clawed supers were in a standoff, the ice man was still around, and that evil presence was still around too... But for the life of her, she didn't feel like she'd be any help at the moment. After several long moments to think it over, Elasa decided to check on Valdemar, using her ring to track him-- but not before giving Kesshou a short promise that she'd return as soon as she could.

Tim quickly glanced at the battle and took a step closer to Oracle. His staff was still firmly gripped in his hand.
"By the looks of things, it'll be best to get away from here. Or, at least inside the 'school'."
Robin didn't know if either one of these fighters were on 'their side'... that was why his voice had a considerable amount of questioning for his last statement. If Bab's did indeed know one of the fighters, maybe he could do something. Otherwise, booking it seemed like a good option...especially with the potential hallucinations.

Conner ran out of a dark portal and stopped a few yards from where he appeared. Immediately he tried to gauge the best thing to act on... they were outside, near the rubble of the institute, and two people he'd never seen were fighting with eachother....
"Woah, what's going on here..."
Kon spotted Oracle and Tim (those same civvies) and looked back, knowing at least Rogue had followed right behind him.

Both Rogue and 'Batgirl' came through the portal behind Superboy. Marie flew in on Konner's left, and Jinx rolled right with a batarang in her hand.
'Batgirl' asked when she saw all of the images that Selene was putting up mentally, "Who are we fighting?"
Rogue replied, "A skanky vamp called Selene. Watch it, not ever'thin ya see is really there. She's gotta be close."
Oracle noticed the new arrivals and shouted at them and also for Tim's benefit, "Of the two with claws, the girl is innocent. The other guy started it. I think all of the appearant attackers are only illusions."

Kon focused on Oracle's words, along with Rogue's.
"A vampire, huh?"
So sight maybe wasn't something to rely entirely on... Superboy focused on his surroundings, with both sight and hearing. He worked on picking out individual miniscule sounds around him- and being in a forest, singling out what he wanted could prove to be difficult, but it was better than relying on false sights.
"Yeah, there's definitely someone else close by."
Tim nodded to Babs's response, realizing this must have meant someone else had entered the grounds. He turned to look in the direction Oracle had shouted... to find that he didn't see anyone new. He turned back, only to find that Babs along with her wheelchair wasn't sitting next to him anymore. He looked up and around, taking a short step back in shock.
"Oracle?"
He turned his head back, seeing that not only she had gone, but the two claw-armed fighters. After a quick moment of contemplation, he moaned.
"I guess the helmet doesn't help. O, I can't... see you. Can you see me?"
