They withered and died, but a few seconds later sprouted. In less than 15 seconds, they were ready to go again.
Rufus' eyes closed slightly as he focused, but other than that he seemed fine.

Anatoly repeated the plant-killing and planned to do so until Rufus was gone.

Learning from his mistakes, Anatoly realized that he was running low on charge and decided to conserve power to avoid a situation like last time.
Rufus smirked as the ice on his face faded away. "You done yet?" he asked.

"Depends, are you leaving yet?" Anatoly asked before he stepped silently forward in his shoeless feet. He waved a hand in front of Rufus' closed eyes.

"The infirmary is my station," Rufus said with a sigh. "I'm not going anywhere."
His head twitched slightly. "And get back in bed. Don't move around too early."

With Rufus gone, Anatoly walked over to Bitong, twitching slightly. He had an almost fearful look in his eyes - but what he was fearful of was the mystery. "How's she doing?" he asked softly, forcing himself to stare at the wounds he'd inflicted.

Bitong didn't look at him. "Stable," he said. "She'll live. Probably be scarred for life, but at least she's alive." He grew more and more vicious as he spoke.
"What the hell were you doing out there? Why were you trying to kill a little girl?" He turned to him, a confused look in his eyes.

Anatoly released the Skulltap into the air and collapsed into a chair. Tears began to fall down his face. "I don't know, I just... lost it," he answered quietly. "It's like I was watching myself act from outside my body. I knew what I was doing, but it was... remote. Distanced. Like I knew it, but wasn't aware of it."

There was the sound of a step and the two looked over to see Stark and Rufus in the door.
"That's the danger," Rufus said softly.
Stark nodded. "Focus is the most important skill that a Blazer can have. But right, right behind that is control. The Mystickers are a powerful force, Anatoly. You can't rely only on them, and you can't give all of your focus and mind over to them. They need to be controlled, or they will overrun the user. And I have no use for that kind of thing in my organization. Am I clear?"

He dissolved his tears with his Ice 1 and composed himself. "What happened to me, exactly? Both at the beginning, when I lost it, and when I got knocked out."

Rufus stepped forward. "Your sticker overran you. It happens to...it happens to rookie Blazers. You gave it too much, too much juice or focus, or both at the same time."
Stark shook his head. "You are being put back into training. Clearly I was wrong to accelerate you so far. You need the fundamentals before we put you in a position of power.
"As for what happened, we're not sure. It could be a side effect of your Sticker overpowering you, or it could be some other anomaly.We don't know right now."

Anatoly looked Stark in the eye. "I am in no position to dispute that. I have had knowledge of the existence of Blazers for less than a week." He sighed.
"Do you... this is going to sound ******** crazy, but I don't know enough about Mystickers to know if it's possible or not." Anatoly took a deep breath. "Could Skulltap have stepped in to stop me?"

"What makes you say that?" Stark said warily. The other two glanced at each other uneasily.
