((You haven't missed much. We're still sitting at the table. There was some small talk: Nathan mentioning he wasn't going to the bachelor party, Derrik deciding he would then joking about crashing the bachelorette party, some joking about nail polish and such. Food arrived and everyone stared as Nathan vacuumed down his food, but in a manner still fitting with etiquette. Derrik took the opportunity to lick Nathan's lip, claiming he'd missed something. More staring, under table high five from Nia and the father just went back to eating, but the mother was disgusted which got Nathan angry. Derrik seems to have defused the situation by explaining that new love is reckless and ignores consequences, but though the mother seems to agree Nathan believes she is up to something.))

He did not at all think this would mean she'd accept his relationship with Nathan, but they only had to stay civil to one another for four days. It seemed to him that this common ground would be a good start. Discreetly he squeezed Nathan's knee under the table. Nathan still seemed concerned and deep in thought. But at least he did not look angry and hurt any longer. And that was good enough for him.

Derrik's squeezing brought Nathan out of his thoughts and back to the current situation. Nathan slid his hand onto Derrik's and gave it a squeeze and then him, a smile. Nathan loved that Derrik could read him like a book and then how to push his buttons to help him whatever the matter was. It made Nathan feel not alone. Nathan interlocked his fingers with Derrik. Seeing as everyone was done with their meals, Nathan suggested they pay for the meal and get home, because the three of them were very tired from the long drive. Nathan helped Annora into the car and then hopped into the passenger seat, himself. He turned to Derrik who was starting the car. "Are you really going to the Bachelor Party?" Nathan asked, a little discomfort on his face.

"Not if you are asking me not to. I came down here to support you. Remember that. And Annora, as much as I can. Besides, I will not really know any one there if you are not coming along. So there hardly seems to be any point." Derrik started the car and drove along. "But tell me. Why would it be awkward for you to go? I am not trying to convince you; it just made me curious."

Nathan rose his eyebrow at his question. "Are you serious? If I went with my dad, it would be odd to get a lap dance from a chick or watch one strip. And if I went with my mom, I would feel weird because, not only am I the only male guest there, I'm also with my mother." Nathan sighed. "I'm not all for that stripper thing anyway. Most of them are whore's and sluts. Especially, male-strippers. All they think about it getting laid." Nathan slumped back in his seat and interlocked his fingers with Derrik. He turned and smiled at him and then kissed the back of his hand.

"I never really think about being awkward around my parents. But then, they are already married, so there are no bachelor parties and such to worry about. I suppose that does make a difference." Derrik had an amused little smile on his lips as he drove with Nathan's hand in his. He thought to say something about Nathan's opinion of strippers, particularly male ones, but one glance at Annora in the back seat changed his mind. "Alright, fair enough. No bachelor party."

Nathan grinned wildly. Then, he quickly shifted his expression to cutesy, innocence. "Well, since we aren't going to out to have any fun with the rest of everyone, we'll have to make up our own fun." He was grinning again, but the quickly covered it with a small innocent "O" shape. He put a finger to his lower lip and batted his eyes at Derrik, as to coax him into the "fun."
[Aww, that comment was supposed to offend you because Nathan doesn't know about your night job! Oh well, I can always find away to do it again.]

"Did I hear such words from a sweet little angel like you? You must have a bit of the devil in you. And if not... I could fix that later." Derrik grins and winks at Nathan. Did any of this bother Annora? She'd been so quiet it was hard to remember she was in the car. While he at least thought she accepted he and Nathan as a couple now, that didn't change the fact that she was alone now and Derrik couldn't stop flirting right in front of her. ((Nathan does know, though. Took me a while to find it, but Derrik confesses on page 52.Dae Dae "I do not think it physically possible for the two of us to finish all of this even if we wanted to." Derrik commented as he put food on his plate. He only went for his favorites; two pancakes, three link sausages and strips of bacon, some egg and a glass of orange juice. He listened quietly as Nathan spoke of school and finding work. Derrik would have to worry about classes himself. He might have to cut back on his, ah. Extra-curricular schedule. He was thinking on which corners to cut and putting a fork full of egg in his mouth when Nathan asked about where he worked. He chewed as he thought. Nathan trusted him; that seemed fairly obvious by how quickly they had progressed from close friends to bunk mates. He did not want to lie to Nathan, he just did not want to tell him the truth. Derrik sighed softly and began speaking in a low voice after glancing to make certain no one was headed their way. "I do not have a regular job. I do what I can get my hands on. Modeling, television extra, and that sort of thing. But if I am working at night... this doesn't leave this room, I hope you understand. Not even to Ana. If I am working at night, it is as an amateur at a strip club. Different ones for different nights of the week." So, Nathan could trust him after all; interesting. Could he trust Nathan? ))

Nathan giggled at Derrik. "Well, all strippers are sluts, except you. Your a man of honesty and loyalty." Nathan gave him a peck on the cheek. "And I love you everyday for that." Nathan kissed his hand and then looked back at his sister. "You okay back there? You seem awfully quiet." Nathan said in concern.

Derrik said nothing in reply to this. What was there to say? Nathan had just nonchalantly dropped the one secret Derrik had asked him to keep. Derrik clenched his jaw and just kept driving, looking ahead with a small frown. Annora had reacted poorly enough to just his dating Nathan. That was before she knew anything about what he liked to do with his evenings. "Goddamnit!" Was all he had to say after a few moments of pensive silence. "Goddamnit."

Nathan turned to Derrik. "What's wrong, Love? Are you alright?" Nathan asked, worriedly. He couldn't understand what was wrong. He glimpsed at Annora. She had been sleeping. No wonder she's all quiet. She tuckered herself out again. Figures. Nathan pulled his attention back to Derrik. "What's wrong?" He asked.
