Kirai opened it, shocked handed it to Avarice. How could I not of felt it? Her face was even whiter than usual, even the color from hers eyes and lips faded some as she walked over and stood by Demitri.

Demitri tugged at Kirai's sleeve. ((If she has one...)) "Kiria, what's wrong?" Avarice examined the letter, taking notice of the exquisite penmanship, the calligraphied letters. Just by noticing that, he had a feeling who the letter was from. The further he read, the tighter the muscles in his shoulders felt. Upon reaching the end, he growled. "My office..." He was more enraged with himself than anyone else. Disappointed he hadn't noticed someone breaking and entering...not that he was one to talk. Clenching the letter in a fist, he strode quickly to his office. Not even bothering to be polite, why should he be, he kicked the door open. "So, to what do I owe this...unexpected visit." He said.

Lanius stood with perfect posture behind Avarice's desk, next to the stained glass window. In the dark colored light, you could hardly make out a small smile on his face. Taking off his tophat and bowing, he said, "Why, I am dreadfully sorry for the short notice. You see, I was gone for a while... and wished to see what had become of our old Dr.Frakenstein, Sir Avarice." He stood back up, putting his tophat on again, you could see some blood on his white gloves from some of the lycans he killed to get in there.
Kirai looked down at Demitri, and put her arm around him and smiled. "Dear, just stay by me. Let's remain in this room till Avarice returns, but if I am to go get him, you must stay here."

Kirai looked down at Demitri, and put her arm around him and smiled. "Dear, just stay by me. Let's remain in this room till Avarice returns, but if I am to go get him, you must stay here."
"I'll stay." He said, squeezing her hand. He could feel something was...off, but he wasn't sure. "What's...happening?" He asked.

Avarice eyed the gloves. "Now, was that rather neccessary? Checking in doesn't require slaughtering my man. Though from the rumor mill, I could understand why they'd try and attack..." Avarice watched Lanius carefully, but pulled off his glasses, rubbing the lenses on his vest. "State your buisness. If you have any..."

"Terribly sorry about that as well. You see, you and your followers could pose a threat to the Red Cross Society I have in mind, much like how it was before Edward came along. Now that he is gone, my followers are growing in number, and all the members of other species have been taken care of, the next step is to finally come to the public." He raised his arms slightly, and twirled his hands out when saying this. "It was sad you all were so against Edward, it just made it easier to take care of him... and now..." He chuckled. "I am just here to make assumptions, to see if it will be just as easy to take care of you or not."
Kirai shook her head, "The Red Cross, with a new leader."

Avarice chuckled. "You do know what they say about making assumptions, correct? At any rate, I, nor my people, are so easily moved. You may make all the assumptions you'd like, but if it's a threat your looking for, you've found it. Now, kindly leave my office before I lose my patience."
He growled out. Just the thought of this Lanius anywhere near his people, Kirai especially, infuriated him, but he wouldn't allow that to interfere with politics.

Demitri froze. "He's..." His eyes narrowed. "Don't worry, Kirai. I'll protect you."

Lanius moved one of his shoulders and slightly tilted his head. To leave or not to leave. Stay and fight, see what he can do now... or leave, having been found out and only knowing the average strength of his minions. "Not that I wish to kill anymore tonight, seeing how my silk gloves are already ruined... but it would bring pleasure to me if you would be so kind as to spare. Of course, it is nothing personal. You see, I plan on doing the same thing to Sergei next. Dreadfully fun, however bad, this buisness is... wouldn't you agree?" He rested his chin on his hand, and grinned with a sly yet very calm expression.
Kirai got down next to Demitri, and putting her hands on both his shoulders, smiled reassuringly. "Now now, dear. Avarice can take care of this. In addition, my job is to protect you, little one. So, relax dear, this will come to a pleasent end soon, alright?"

Wondering if a scar ticked him off. Well, let's find out. "Beyond what has already been done to it..." *** Demitri's ears perked. "Kirai...do you hear that? Someone's knocking..."

Lanius moved his hair to show it a bit more, "Why yes, and just when I thought it was hidden, reguardless..." He let the hair fall back down, hiding it again, and smiled. "Despite the annoying factor of my appearence you brought up, might I say... I almost regret running that background check on you a few years ago. Polite, however, as always. Oh, and is it true Kirai also escaped, and currently, although a strigoii, is here?"
Kirai stood up, and walked over down the hall to the door, and opened it casually.

Avarice's smile never faltered, however, the knot in his shoulders seemed to get stiffer. "Yes." He said. No, point in lying, he obviously knew. "Not that it's any of your concern. Now, if you wouldn't mind, I'd gladly escort you to the door...no offense if I seem to be rushing, but I have rather pressing matters to attend to."

At the door was a figure wrapped in a long, black cloak. "May I come in?" The cloaked figure requested. They spoke softly, as if they didn't want anyone to know they were male or female.

His face was kind as needed, but his ice-cold nature showed and came out in harsh comparison to the sound of his voice. "So neither of us will be shocked." Lanius bowed, "For taking up your time, I am ashamed. For not getting what I wanted, I am disappointed. For seeing what has become of you, I am pleasently suprized. Surely the future encounters between my men and yours will be... fun, lets say. Until we meet again." He stood back upright, and walked past Avarice into the hall, closing the door behind him. Within a moment, he appearently vanished.
Kirai smiled, Interesting name, and I like how this person's personality forms so directly with their heart... "Why yes, please." She stood to the side and held open the door to let them in.

"I'm sure our future encounters will be more than...fun." Then, he walked...still careful...and sought out Kirai. Spotting Demitri, he picked him up. "Where's Kirai?" He asked. "At the door..." Demitri replied. He nodded. *** When the figure entered and the door was closed, they looked around cautiously, before lowering their hood. It was Mimicry. ((SHOCKER!XD)) "Hello, Kirai." She said, holding out her hand. Mimicry looked alittle worse for wear. Nearly half her face was bruised, her lip was bloody and her hair had been cut, not by choice either because it was jagged and choppy. Her hand was bandaged, though one was skinned and the other burnt, it looked like there was another injury somewhere there...

Kirai took a few steps down the hall, then turned to Mimicry and smiled slightly. "Outside whatever buisness you have come to speak of, we can most certainly help, even if it is just making some tea for your stay, however long." Mim nodded in thanks. "Every since Lanius took office, I've been hiding out...I've had no choice." She lifted a side of her cloak and tied securely in a blanket that wrapped around her shoulder, were two infants. They were both currently asleep, the boy had fuzzy white hair and the other, fuzzy and black. When their hair had time to grow, then you'd be able to tell the texture. "He said he'd hunt down all of Edward's family and friends, so far I've been good about it, but I can take all this suffering. It's just not like me to sit around and wait." She narrowed her eyes. "Besides, I was hoping I could speak with...the two of you."

Edward approached the castle, all battered and worn looking. Not believing what he was doing himself, he ventured forth to find Avarice. Entering the castle where he last seen the man he was going to offer his allegiance too, brought back the memories of the duel between them. Pulling himself back into the now he called out loud. "AVARICE!!!!" Just in case he was attacked he had his two blades at the ready. "AVARICE!!!!" He called again, as he ventured towards the staircase.
