Themis' sharp fangs dug into Beacon's flipper. The Ampharos yelled out in pain and pulled his 'hand' back, shaking it vigorously in hopes it would alleviate the sting.
"Now that he's close, blast him with another Signal Beam!" Mike shouted, clenching his fist. He could see that Themis was growing weaker. I wonder who I'm going to send out next? he thought. He still wasn't sure what kind of Pokemon Keegan had, so he might have to play it safe.
Beacon looked down with a small smile on his face. It wasn't as menacing as Felsic's or Nitro's when they got into the fighting spirit, it was more of a happy grin. Beacon's gem flickered with light before letting loose another Signal Beam.

Even with Themis' incredible speed he couldn't avoid getting a face-full of Beacon's Signal Beam; the impact forced him to stagger back, shaking his head violently. The attack had left him feeling dazed and out of it, and through the now muddled-feeling in his brain he could hear Keegan calling out to him. With one more shake of his head he snarled at nothing in particular (as he was facing nothing at the time) and he lunged at Beacon again. This time, instead of directly attacking he sent out a weak jolt of electricity at the large, yellow Pokemon - Thunder Wave - before turning and putting some distance between himself and Beacon. Keegan knew Themis didn't have much left to give and if anything he'd be able to leave a mark before the Manectric went down.
Keegan had no idea what Mike would send up against him next, even if he did manage to bring down Beacon, although he did have a feeling it would be that Breloom. He groaned inwardly, knowing he had no real way to counter the combination grass/fighting type. He scratched his chin and looked up at the dark clouds overhead. Whatever happened, he would do his best. It would be an insult to his own Pokemon and Mike too if he didn't give it his all. ===== The boy looked on in a bit of surprise at how quickly Miharu had given her Pokemon orders, and for a moment he looked panicked as the Thunder Wave paralyzed his Stantler. The retaliatory Tackle he’d ordered had been a good and probably lucky hit, but he knew his luck wouldn’t hold out forever. “Okay Stantler! Use Hypnosis on the Pinsir! Venonat, Disable on the Flaaffy!” he shouted, eying the many trainers now watching them battle. He didn’t want to look like some novice, and be beaten by a girl, at that!
The Stantler shook its head violently before a hypnotic light pattern began to emanate from its large antlers, and it let out a cry in order to get Petunia’s attention. Bleary-eyed, the Pinsir turned to look at its opponent, arms falling helplessly to her sides as her eyes then closed and she toppled forward, face-first into the dirt. Miharu stared with wide eyes, trying to understand what had just happened, but her thoughts were cut short as the Venonat shot a curious look at Sparkle, and for some reason or other, the Flaaffy couldn’t remember what she’d done last. “Sparkle, get that bug with your Tackle! Petunia! WAKE UP!” the small girl shouted, stomping her foot. She could hear hushed murmurs coming from the crowd and she tried to block them out. She couldn’t let them get to her and break her concentration. Petunia shifted a little in her sleep but didn’t stir even as Sparkle raced between the Pinsir and the Stantler, her cute face twisted into an uncharacteristic glare. She lowered her head and crashed into the small purple puffball, sending them both for a tumble.
The attack had an unexpected side affect though. As the two rolled, the static that normally clung to Sparkle’s body transferred over to the Venonat, and as they came to a stop Sparkle stood up but the Venonat did not. The static that now crackled over its body fizzled out but not before leaving the insect in a paralyzed state, just like its teammate. Miharu couldn’t believe the stroke of luck that had just gone in her favour and she smiled. Sparkle was getting better at this battling thing all the time.

"I suppose, but I don't really have much choice. Pokecenter's probably all out of vacancies by now, I'd imagine that that's where most of the trainers would stay and I only just got here. I'd rather not be bunched up in a room with some random person either, don't trust peopel enough for that." He sighed as he looked out into the ocean again. Mitsu made a valid point, people were noisy when at the beach, even more so with a festival going on. "I guess I could just stay up all night instead. Can't be woken up if you never go to sleep in the first place right?" He grinned as he said this, but despite the unusualy light way he said it he wasn't joking. Those were his two choices at the moment, and he wasn't above going without sleep. Whatever his choice would be, it was clear that he had a rough night ahead of him.

"There are a few beds left I think," Mitsu replied. Amazingly the place could fit the massive amoutn of trainers there. Then again Slateport had many hotels and the like, which was where M.A. and Kilik were staying for the night. The purple haired trainer kind of wished that she was offered a luxurious suite like the ones they were probably sleeping in right now. No matter, the Pokemon Center's sleeping quarters weren't shabby themselves and were fairly comfortable. She was glad that she had made some quick arrangements to reserve a room with the help of Touya.
"Staying awake all night?" Mitsu questioned. It was a plausible plan to herself but Crenu looked a bit tired. She could only guess that he'd spent the day training. He struck her as one of those types. "Wouldn't you need your rest to battle tomorrow?" she added before quickly stopping herself. She was tempted to say, "A trainer's got to be as strong as thier Pokemon." but she decided against it. Most of her Pokemon were mentally stronger and mor confident thatn herself. Something Karri was working hard to help her improve. That and she could tell that he probably wouldn't have liked hearing it anyways.

Another valid point, one that Crenu planned on dealing with later. He was tired after training, and his body, especially his chest, was still sore from taking Hitmonlee's kicks. The copper like taste still hanging in the back of his mouth was a reminder of how harsh training could be if one didn't have the propper equiptment. His chest was still hurting the worst and he could feel it sting every time he took a breath now, but he did a pretty good job of holding it in. "I suppose it would be wiser to get some rest. Maybe the center will have an extra room." He sighed again as he turned to fface Mitsu a little more properly. "You got a phone or something I van reach you at? You're quite the interesting person, wouldn't mind adding you to my list of contacts." He said bluntly with an ever stoic expression as if he had just asked for the time.

Mike groaned as he saw the small jolt of electricity crackle up Beacon's body. That put his Brick Break totally out of the question. Even with the Ampharos' little streak of cooperation, running halfway across the battlefield with the possibility of seizing up at any moment was not something he wanted to chance. He could always Thunder Wave Themis back, but he really wanted to get the Manectric out of there, not just stall for more time. Mike sighed slightly as he came to the obvious conclusion. "I hate to be a broken record, but this is really the only move I got to use against your Manectric, Keegan." He let out a short chuckle and called for another Signal Beam. "Let's finish this round Beacon, you can do it!"
Beacon felt the tingle run up his spine as he struggled to lower his head. Curse his long neck! After a moment of straining the Pokemon manged to get into position and release another multicolored beam at his opponent. As the attack left him he wondered just how many more of those that doggy was going to be able to take.

Crenu's stotic face made her feel like giggling as he asked for her number. She settled for a light amused smile. She found it odd that a person could be so nonchalant and unmoving while asking for a contact. "I've got a `Nav," she answered flipping out the red device, "And if you're going to have my number I'd like yours as well."
She slightly wondered about the comment. He didn't seem like the type who would socialize or even like people so what made her 'interesting'?The comment, however, made her laugh inwardly. Oh, only if he knew! Haha! She was rather glad to be under the radar so to speak. She could feel the energy runnng through the palm of her hand, only something that she could feel and remained unseen by everyone else. It was also something that she had recently noticed herself, though it wasn't annoying or in the way at all. The energy seemed to course a bit faster than usual, perhaps either she or Crenu was more tired than either had let on. "I've got a room in the Pokemn Center. If you'd like you can have it," Mitsu brought up. She wouldn't really have minded camping out on the couch or maybe Kilik or M.A. would by some rare chance be awake and could provide her with room in their hotel.

As Robin slept on her couch in the pokemon center Luffy seemed to choose that moment to decide that he couldn't sleep. Sitting up the Aipom looked around his eyes wide. Hat was missing from the top of his head but it didn't take him to long to find it. Grabbing it with his tail he settled it on top of his head making sure it rested right against his ears. He just didn't feel right with out Hat resting on top of his head, it was his most prized possession and he was fiercely protective over it. Pushing himself onto his feet, his belly was bulging from all the food he had eaten earlier but he didn't seem to mind. Staring up at Robin for a second Luffy wondered what to do for a moment before deciding to go on an adventure.
The thought of an amazing adventure on his mind a huge grin spread on Luffy's face as he waddled out of the pokemon center. He didn't know where he was going but he would know it when he saw it. Humming as he waddled through the city Luffy stared with wide eyes at the large buildings around him and the bright lights. Off in the distance he could hear the crashing of waves and the cry of Winguls. The air was fresh and he could smell the adventure all around him.
As he walked along the city's streets looking for Adventure! Something in the corner of his eye caught his attention. "Eh?" Looking to the side Luffy turned large dark eyes to stare at whatever it was. It looked like a shiny blue napkin! "So cool!" Luffy exclaimed jumping up excitedly before he started to waddle/run after it, still feeling a bit full.

Sere sat in the red chairs litterally twiddling her thumbs as she waited for her mudkip to be healed. While she knew that it was a nessicary part of pokemon training, she didn't want to admit that she ever needed to use a poke-center. She looked around at the centre and noticed that there was a few people who were waiting as well. Most were talking to the pokemon that were not with the nurse or talking with their friends. None looked as nervous as she was.
Serenity returned her eyes back down to her feet and tried to immagine different patterns in her bright pink shoe laces. It was something she liked to do to keep her mind from freaking out about the things she didn't have any controll over.
"George is ready!" Sere heard the nurse call. She practically jumped out of her seat and rushed over to the counter to collect the blue pokemon from the pink haired nurse.
"Thank you so much." She said. The nurse smiled at her but quickly returned to helping the next in line.

The dark shadows of an alleyway were haunted with a pair of red, glowing eyes. Unknown to Mitsu Ebony had slipped away once more, on another sugar high from the dinner. Scaring that old man had gotten his thoughts churning with pranks and other devious ideas. The crafty ghost had slipped away while Mitsu had been reading her book and had been roaming the city since. He would fly close by and check on his purple headed trainer once in a while. She had a new pretty shiny horsey from that tall Dante fellow a while back and the last time he had checked on her she was talking with Mr. Doom and Gloom. Ebony's seemingly perpetual smile turned upside down forming a frown. He didn't like Mr. Doom and Gloom, or his icky Poliwag! The Gengar stuck his tongue out at Crenu before vanshing back into the shadows. He wished that Mitsu would go find some other boy to talk to. Like. . . like Mr. Flame and Fire! He much prefered Mr. Flame and Fire over Mr. Doom and Gloom. Or, or, she could talk to that one guy from dinner. Ebony pouted while trying to think of a nickname for him. But as usual, his sugar high made his attention span shrink like Grimer using Minimize. OH! Purple! Purple and a hat! It was an Aipom that Mitsu's new friend had! The who nearly ate the whole Pokemon buffet bar at the dinner! And he was, he was chasing something! It looked like a napkin! Ooooooh, floating napkin! How intresting, and it was shiiiiiiny. "So pretty!" he hissed. "Mr. Hat! Mr. Hat!" he called out to Luffy before deciding to follow the Aipom and the mysterious, magical napkin of wonder!

"Sounds fair." He said as he took out his cell phone. He didn't own a Pokenav, though it seemed like everyone else he met did. This was fine though, he prefered a good old fashioned paper map that he could scribble on and a simple black flip phone suited him better. Mitsu seemed to have a lot of strong and rare pokemon, and she also had this air or mystery around her that most people didn't. Odds were that if he befriended her, Crenu might end up learning a thing or two. A chill ran down his spine as he got the feeling that they were beign watched, but Crenu figured it was the chilly night breeze and shook it off. He was surprised to have Mitsu offer him her room, this was an odd gesture seeing as they had just met. But all that aside, he would have to turn down the offer. He never was one to accept help unless it was a last resort, and even then he didn't like it. It was apparent that Crenu was to stubborn for his own good, something he had inherited from his father. "Keep your room, I'll be alright."

Keegan said nothing, instead just nodding. If their roles were reversed he'd probably be doing just the same thing. Themis watched the Ampharos carefully, preparing to dodge the oncoming Signal Beam as it was fired. Confusion was still lingering in the Manectric's mind as he made a move to bolt forward, and he tripped over his own feet before crashing to the ground in a heap. Keegan frowned, knowing it was over then and held up Themis' Pokeball, recalling him before the Signal Beam could inflict any more damage on the Manectric. He really didn't see the point of letting Themis take any more attacks and risk letting him get seriously hurt. Beacon had won this round, and Keegan sighed as he clipped the Pokeball onto the strap he wore around his waist, wondering who he would be sending out for his last Pokemon. Even though Beacon was struggling with paralysis, it wouldn't be wise to send out Althena or Artemis, as Beacon's electric attacks would tear through them in no time. He could send out Tierra, and she could probably handle the Ampharos with ease, but that would only really happen if by some divine miracle she wasn't sleeping. Yeah right.
Keegan sighed again as he realized he had but one choice. He snatched up a Pokeball in his hands and gave it a quick spin before he flung it out in front of him. "Okay Loki, it's all up to you now!" he shouted as the Arbok materialized, rising up out of his coils and hissing viciously. His 'hood' flared as he flashed the intimidating patterns on his body at the Ampharos, letting everone around him know that he meant business. Keegan smiled; he loved battling with Loki. It always reminded him of the day when he evolved from an Ekans, and he had been the very first of Keegan's Pokemon to evolve. That moment had been one of the most incredible experiences of the his life at that point.
"Let's not waste any time, Loki!" the redhead shouted. "Blast 'em with your Sludge Bomb!" Loki's mouth snapped shut as he continued to rise up, wavering dangerously as he stared down Beacon, throat beginning to buldge. Loki then spat a large glob of stinking, poisonous sludge at the Ampharos, giving a toothy grin afterwards. Keegan chuckled a bit, knowing how much Loki loved to use that move. It was just so... disgusting.

Large ears twitching Luffy turned to look behind him, he thought he heard Hat's name being called. What Luffy did see was a big purple thing with a grin that rivaled his own flying towards him. Luffy did not recognize the big spiky grinning thing, he had been to busy eating the buffet. Stopping his run/waddle he grinned widely and using his large hand tail he waved at the purple grinning pineapple. The pineapple seemed pretty cool to, not as cool as the mystery shiny floating napkin with eyes but still pretty cool. Maybe the purple pineapple would let him ride on his back? That would be awesome! "Purple Pineapple!" Luffy called out hoping that it would catch the flying pokemon's attention. It probably would seeing that it was flying right at him.
In front of them, or behind Luffy now the shiny napkin seemed to notice them and had turned to watch. It was rather strange a fat Aipom with a stupid looking hat and a fellow ghost type pokemon to. They seemed to know each other, or the Gengar did, the Aipom just seemed to have a few screws loose. Either way it probably should get moving. After all its trainer would get mad if he went wondering around like this.

The boy's eyes had gone wide with surprise and he stared at his two paralyzed Pokemon in awe. Slowly his expression changed into a scowl and he folded his arms across his chest angrily. "Well, at least one of my Pokemon isn't asleep," he grumbled at Miharu, who was still looking quite pleased with the outcome of the battle so far.
"Yeah, well at least sleep wears off, not like paralysis," she retored, placing her hands on her hips and trying not to look smug. Even with Petunia snoozing away she still had one Pokemon that was somewhat mobile. "Sparkle, now I want you to hit that insect with your Thundershock!" she commanded, before looking at her Pinsir. Petunia didn't look like she planned on waking up any time soon, but it was worth it to call out to her. "Come on, Petunia! Wake up! Attack the Stantler with your Vice Grip, go!" Her efforts were in vain though, as the Stagbeetle continued to sleep soundly, even as Sparkle stepped forward and launched a volley of bright blue electricity at the bug. The Venonat screeched and shook itself, trying to shake off the pins and needles feeling that seemed to cover its whole body. On its trainer's orders, however, it stood tall and twitched its antennae, a curious blue glow encompassing its body before it took hold of Sparkle. The Flaaffy cried out as she tried to fight off the Venonat's Confusion attack, but was unsuccessful as the psychic force threw her to the ground.
All this went on while the Stantler continued to fight off its own paralysis, and on the boy's order it charged forward, lowering its horns as it prepared to strike Petunia with a Tackle attack. It was hard to miss an immobile target, and Miharu winced from the impact. The Stantler was tough and the hit caused the Pinsir to roll back several feet. She came to an abrupt stop and all at once her eyes opened wide. Realizing she'd fallen asleep in the middle of a fight she let out a roar and got to her feet, waving her pincers around and slashing the air with her claws. She was angry now!

Kasiya had taken the egg from Levi and was now holding it in her arms again, an adoring expression written all over her face as she stared down at it. She loved the little baby Pokemon already and it hadn't even been born yet. "I wonder if this is how mothers feel," she said dreamily, stroking the egg gently. Shocker and Levi were gazing up at her, wearing similar expressions. It appeared that they too were excited to meet the newcomer, even though only Shocker knew what was going to hatch from the fiery-coloured egg.
"Speaking of which," Haruka mused, coming over to inspect the egg as well, "what you got in there?" She reached out a hand and gently touched the smooth shell, yanking her hand back in surprise. "Man, that's hot! If I had to guess I'd say a Fire-type of sorts."
Kasiya nodded, a faraway look appearing in her eyes. "You got that right! It's a Charmander!" she told Haruka excitedly. "I just got it a little while ago, and it should be hatching within a day or so! I can't wait to meet the little guy!" She closed her eyes and smiled, imagining what the tough little fire lizard would be like. If it were to be anything like Nitro, she knew she was in for a bit of a tough time. She could recall all the times the then-Charmander had set Mike on fire, the only thing that saved him were his fire-proof clothes. But then again, this Charmander might be a little more subdued and well behaved. Either way, Kasiya didn't care. All she knew was she would do her very best to raise and nurture it into a strong and healthy Pokemon.
By now the two girls were walking towards the Pokemon Center side by side, with Shocker and Levi bringing up the rear a ways behind them. Shocker had suspected that all was not well with the Marshtomp and she had been right. Leviathan was still feeling down after what Haruka had said, despite the happy front she'd been putting up. The Raichu did her best to reassure her teammate, but she wasn't sure if her words were getting through or not. Her ears drooped a bit as she continued to walk beside Levi, wishing she could think of something to do or say to uplift the Marshtomp's spirits.
=-=-=-=-= It didn't take very long for 'Cammy' to explain to 'Bryan' what had happened with Dr Cress and his Alakazam, and he listened intently, eyes fixed firmly on the floor as he listened to his superior speak. "So what you're saying is... that old Crackpot was actually right about something?" he asked finally, looking up at Mai curiously. When she nodded, he let out a low whistle and continued to lean up against the wall, deep in thought.
"Yes, unfortunately," Mai replied, twisting the end of her seashell necklace in her hands. "I do not know for certain, but my best guess is that Cress' Alakazam opened up some sort of psychic channel between me and my sis- that brat," she said with a shrug. "As helpful and insightful as it can be into learning what she and those other children are planning, it couldn't have come at a worse time. If the switch happens again during our operation it could ruin everything, and I'm not going to let that little runt destroy me and my team with mere happenstance." She looked up at Leo imploringly.
"So what do you need me for?" he asked, tapping a sandal-clad foot on the floor impatiently. "Last time we spoke, you told me to stay away from you or you'd have me transferred to a Rocket branch out in the middle of nowhere." The smirk he wore was a playful one, but it made Mai want to throw something large and heavy at him.
Mai huffed and looked away, almost wishing that conversation hadn't happened; now it was coming back to bite her. She closed her eyes and sighed, suddenly remembering something important and she groaned at herself inwardly. "If you recall, Leo Sinclair, I outrank you and therefore you answer to me, understand?" she told him sharply, rising up from her chair to stand in front of him, arms crossed.
"Oh, so now you're pulling rank on me? That is so like you, Mai," he said, stepping forward so they were only a foot apart. "Just because you're too afraid to let me get close so you push me away." There was silence then, but Mai's harsh stare didn't soften. Leo gave a defeated sigh and shook his head. "All right. What do you need me to do?"
