Meta_Fish Sauvie I find it amazing that people actually prefer to use the control stick to jump over the buttons... I mean I think it is so un precise. It's hard to change. I really don't like using the X and Y buttons to jump, either. The control stick is just... there. I'm already using it, y'know? I'd think it would help your attack timing, since you don't have to slide your thumb around to the jump buttons. Just A and B. Depends on your hand size. For tiny hands like mine, I didn't need to slide, my pointer was right on those buttons.

Sauvie Does it really take that long for your thumb to travel the long and dangerous trip from th A/B buttont to X or Y? because if your timing is hurt because of moving your thumbs you might have yourself a problem... Is it really that hard to use the control stick to do short hops? It's all preference, Sauvie. Yes, it takes longer for your thumb to travel a farther distance, and yes, it's more on your mind when you have four buttons to push instead of two.

Of course it is! My thumb has to call a cab for that dangerous trek! I also use X and Y for jumping. The control stick is for moving, not jumping.

Short hopping is a lot easier and more effective with the buttons. How long does it take to move your thumb over the freaking gamcube controller button map.... honestly how would that ever be an issue? Wow... if you have to think about the button layout when you are in a match you might not be focused on the right thing... and really wow 3-4 buttons... what a chore.

You can really short hop with the control stick on command? That's pretty hardcore, Fish. My tilt attacks get screwed up when I use the control stick to short hop.
I use the buttons. Namely Y. I don't see much of a use for X as far as jumping goes.

I'm kind of thinking that you know I don't short hop and were trying to be a smart guy. >_> Then again, maybe not. I don't really have the need to short hop that much, and when I do, it's for a meteor smash, and I can generally pull it off, or just fall fast enough to make it not be an issue. The control stick just feels natural to me.

Ah. I'm guessing you use Doc or Mario?

I've noticed people in any internet community seem to argue a lot about things that really don't matter... xP

yeah, same here, I've been sitting here lurking this thread since the argument started, keeping out till it was over and Holy Crap! It's like a buncha girls arguing about who's shoes are better and it's got the same end: It doesnt matter, they keep your feet off the ground all the same, just like control stick and buttons will both let you jump, who cares?!

Er... I'm talking about the internet in general, using this as an example. Plus I was joking. You're gonna start another argument if you go at it like that... : /
