Sorry! I got on late tonight, because they kept me on at work. A teacher didn't show up, so I had to teach the late night classes.

Hm, I don't know who'll all be interested, but I'm creating an Elder Scrolls roleplay with a D20 system. I'm going to post stuff about it in the General Discussion subforum. If anyone's interested, take a peek! whee

Cloud_has_been_bitten Hey kenk when you get on tell me can non-lethal damage kill somone. A guy thinks it can. But then why call it non-lethal damage? And if it is "non-lethal" do they generate random number... which happens to come out to 212 while my Hp is 180 and the hp left is -32... wouldn't I be death because my hp reached less than -10?

Any kind of damage can kill someone. That's why it does damage. By saying 'non lethal' I'm pretty sure they mean that it's not instant death. You'd have to hit them over and over for it to do you much good.
And as for the random number...The whole point of random number is to add in the element of luck. Sometimes, even though you land a hit, you don't do much damage because it was a glancing blow, etc. Or even though the attack isn't supposed to do much damage, you luck up and hit them in an artery. See?

I would think non-lethal would stand for paralyzing someone or knocking them unconcious with minimal damage. It would be something that disrupts their normal status without doing intense damage to health points.
